This is honestly fantastic. I've had so many ideas over the years for stuff that I wanted to try and things that I wanted to add or build onto d2 but most of the resources out there assume a certain level of knowledge and aren't super helpful for people who are just starting on making mods. Honestly I think you'd be helping a lot of people if you continued this series.
I've just updated my description to include mirrors for all of them. Unfortunately I've been busy with my own mod and my donation link in the description has generated exactly 0$ so it is hard to justify making time for this series to be honest. But I still hope it helps everyone get into it more smoothly because going in blind was a lot harder.
Path of Diablo inspired me to make my own mod, I go on UA-cam search how to start, and GreenDude is making tutorial Videos. Thank you GreenDude, your a gem.

I'm trying to make claw mastery also work for other weapons types (like daggers) but no matter what I put, it just makes it apply to every weapon. I tried creation a new item type but that did nothing either. I can't find a working answer anywhere online :(

It seems like the SSL certificate expired on the download on phrozenkeep. Basically right click the download button and copy link. Paste it in a new tab. Then at the front of the website just go with instead of as the secure version doesnt work but the non secure http will work. I tested it. I'll ask the forums manager to fix it. I dont use plugy and this tutorial series will not cover that mod. It would be better for you to ask the plugy people.
Hey, thank you for making these video's. I'm having trouble copying the Txt files into the Diablo 2 Data folder. Any time I try to copy them across anywhere then I get a box saying "Failed to extract the file "data\excel\Skills.txt". The system cannot find the path specified" Do you what this means? or how to get around this issue?
Ill take a wild guess and say either ur not running mpq editor as admin or the location ur dtagging to is admin restricted. open mpq editor as admin then open the file then drag to desktop instead to see if it works.

I can't 'Copy' the files and if I try to drag the files anywhere, all together or individually, I get the same message before the mouse even moves. Same thing happens if I try to 'Extract' the files. Are these files only compatible with curtain Windows versions? I'm currently running Windows 10 Home on an old Presario CQ42 Compaq. Should I upgrade something? I'm also currently running a Mod I downloaded to allow all Druid pets to be out at the same time. Would that be interfering with your programs at all?

Ok, now the problem is, I can change mana cost by open "Skills" by Notepad, but if I open "Skills" by AFJ Sheet Edit, I can change numbers in AFJ, but it didn't change in main text file and it not change it in game. Do you know why?

@@GreenDudeHC I did it ofcourse. I don't know why a problem appeard, but I tried several more things and now is ok. Maybe it was a necessary to change in personalities way of reading file, and gave them administrator permissions.

The changes I made on skills only reflect on the original game.exe, when i run plugyY instead, there were no changes. How to make the changes show on PlugyY mod as well?

Either your files are in the wrong location or your diablo2 shortcut doesnt have the right launch flags in properties to the .txt instead of the mpqs. Try rewatching the setup up part and pay attention to the flags and the paths

D2R? this guide is for legacy d2 i cant confirm if any of this works there. i also dont know what your mod is so i cant offer support for other situation. you're on your own for that. -direct is exactly the flag u need to make changes to ur txt so if u dont run that u wont be able to follow my guide. good luck @@montero363
@@GreenDudeHC Thanks for reply mate,i got it working,btw can you tell me how i could increase the damage of spells of act 3 mercs? I already removed inferno,charged bolt and glacial spike and changed them with hydra,chain lighting and frozen orb but their damage is still to low,and when they level they dont get any extra damage except when they level up their spell,which happens once in a blue moon...
Either clone those skills making a merc-specific version of all of them at the end of ur skills.txt with damage numbers tweaked for mercs. or adjust the lvlperlvl in hireling.txt so they gain more lvls as they lvl up into the skills.@@montero363

@@rnsrp2 Yea they inject their own code which modifies the instructions for your cpu at a really low lvl to disable it. This is way beyond the scope of this video series and I'm not the guy to ask for that. This series is for modding the patch_d2.mpq only.
Is it possible to play the game on fullscreen? When I remove the -w the game crashes Edit: nvm, just put the compatibility option to sp2 and it did work without the -w.
in this video i explained that there is no coding. watch it again and listen to the part about soft modding. i also said that code editing (reversing the game) is not something i can do and will not cover here.

I'd love to but I'm busy with my own project right now and my IRL job. This video series doesn't earn me any money so I can't prioritize it. When I have some free time I will put out more videos for sure.
i fi use just the sheet editor and change values it doesnt do anything, if I do the steps before it wont load past ok, I give up. ive done all the steps along the way. changed the properties. have proper install path. created all the data tree files. as soon as i copy 1 file, doesnt matter what from the mpq it just doesnt load past ok. i give up. i try changing the files in the sheet editor and the values dont do anything. i give up. :/ all i wanted was more stash space to begin with but this game is stupid. if i torrent the game the data tree files are iin the install folder. and if i copy the 10x10 data files to the data folder in in stall it will work, but the torrent reverts back to russian instead of english. this games kinda pissing me off. ivef spent 2 weeks trying to figure out how to download and even just modifiy it. 5/10
Sorry but I wont provide support for a pirated copy of the game. And if modding is too involved, then I strongly suggest playing existing mods where the stash is already big. In 'Path of Diablo' for example, the stash even has stash tabs. Good luck.

I have a loud fan blowing towards me. I put some noise cancellation filter on my recording software so instead of a loud buzzing you can hear a bit of that weird sound when I talk. Since the noise cancellation isn't working well, I made sure to turn off the fan in the later videos. Sorry about that. I hope it doesn't ruin the video.

You also need to add the other flags I told you about namely -txt and -direct. just rewatch the video fully and dont skip any parts.

How do I make this work with PLUGY mod? When I open the regularly the changes work. But when I open through PLUGY its just the base game.

some screenshakes yes like siege beast but the bosses are hardcoded
