I've watched several of his videos on UA-cam and I am so impressed with Iturbi's articulation in runs and ornaments; so clean. A true poet of the keyboard. Gotta love him.
José Iturbi made three short films in the early 40's. Two of them, Albéniz/Chopin and Rameau/Liszt, were made for people who wanted to study his technique. A third one was made for the GI's in the American army and shows Iturbi playing a waltz from Chopin and a boogie woogie while he talks to a group of young ladies. The three movies are available on 16mm films.
Hola! El nombre de la pieza no es Sevillana sino Sevilla. Hi! The name of the play is not Sevillana but Sevilla (a beautilfull and nice city of Andalucia, Spain) Rafa Cortés
His technique resembles that of his teacher, Wanda Landowska. It almost looks like he is double-jointed, as she must have been, but I can see he is raising his palm to increase the striking depth of his fingers as they drop.
Hola Maria. Mi abuelo, Armando García Sabater fue uno de los mejores amigos de Iturbi...y uno de los mejores afinadores de pianos de la historia de España. Eres de Valencia ?
"The piano is a mechanical instrument, inherently less capable to render human emotions like the violin or guitar." ?! wtf?! It means that you can't play the piano ^^'

Amazing Albeniz, beautifully played by this exceptional pianist.
I love this piece. It's always fresh no matter how many times I hear it -- I love best to hear it when it's played by Iturbi. Thanks for posting it!
That was awsome! He plays so smooth and every note so clear. Great Playing!
Great performance by Iturbi! The Spanish fire....
Love it! A sunny, spirited performance.

Did she learn to play with the same shape of the hand?
how many versions have you heard?
Fabulous, stylish performance; too bad the recorded sound suffers from pitch waver and distortion. :-(
This how the piece was written for piano.
