Wow! Nice Shop! It's great to have your own space. I too have my own shop making historical clothing, and also handcrafted soaps, lotions, bath bombs, and scrubs. Being able to have your own space is so very important! Thank you for the tour!
Hi Ryan, your videos are absolutely an inspiration to me, I found your channel early on when I first started leather crafting, I love how you touch on all aspects of the craft, from actual leather working to all branding/business aspects! I’ve been working hard on building my brand, which like you mentioned at the end is definitely discouraging at times, but I think I’m finally getting somewhere and you have a part in that… so thank you… anywho I’ll stop fan-girling for now..;) loved the video! Can’t wait to have a shop like that one day. Cheers, A fellow Ontarian crafter 🇨🇦✌🏼
Hi Ryan, love your workshop! Have you ever considered a post bed double powered roller sewing machine? I've got 3 walking foot industrial machines but I've watched some incredible sewing abilities from top and bottom powered roller machines, the needle is completely visible and can sew incredibly close to an edge. I've got an old one to restore but I've never actually used one! All the best to you. John.
Very cool to see how far you've come. I've been watching from almost the beginning, I think. Congrats on all your success. It's nice to see a good old Canadian boy making it on the tube! Cheers.
Thx for this video. I am also one of many passionate leathercraft guys all around the world. Through watching this video. I am so inspired to work harder to have this kind of workspace one day. God bless you! I hope everything you do will be done accordingly.
Hey Ryan. I've been watching your channel for several years. Probably close to the beginning. You've come a long way. I'm happy for you and keep up the great work. P.S. your video skills have improved a lot.(That's not a put down).
Hi Ryan, I love your shop. When you first built your shop, you inspired me to do the same. I built a great shop for my leather working as well. I dont do it as a business yet but am gearing up to do that later. I am a garage door business owner in the states. I was noticing your garage doors. You can have those tracks up closer to the ceiling if you want them out of your vision in your beautiful shop It is called hi-lift track. Also you can have the newer side mount openers installed so you can get the openers off the ceiling as well and out of your overhead space. Just contact a local garage door business and have them give you a bid to do it. I would do it for you if I lived near you lol. Just an idea for your great space. When I did my doors on my shop, I did what is called pitch of the roof so it follws the ceiling up. It is rad to have it up out of the way. Thank you for your insping videos. Damon. Lazy Lantern Leather Works Good vibes from Washington State.
I am writing from Turkey. I started to take the art of leather to my field of interest. I want to become professional in this matter. It was very helpful to show you your workspace and work tools. thanks
ok Ryan.. you produce great videos , lots of have hard work, determination and Skill, and your still learning, awesome,,, Also, you now have the ultimate workshop.. well done!!!
Love your vids, man! Great shop tour! Do you have any recommendations for some good tutorials on someone who wants to learn the basics of working with leather?
Do you have a video on the type of software you use? From your accounting software to inventory tracking.... Maybe even a design video for your leather ideas
What has been the most influential in your business growing? I'm am a part-timer "weekender" in the leather business and, would take any advice to get some traction going. I'm mostly making leather tote bags and just started a etsy page. What if any advice would you have to get more traction and orders?
Hey Ryan, love the channel and the beautiful pieces you make!! Seeing you grow from being an electrician to full time leather crafter is amazing. I would like to do the same one day. I do have a question though, is it easier to do smaller thread, and pricking irons ? I set up to do 1mm braided thread and 5mm diamond chisel and am finding my bicep repair is hurting from punching and trying to get the needles through thick leather stack. My leather is also 5-6 oz. I seen you suggest 4mm pricking irons and vinymo #5. If they smaller set up is easier, I'd like to purchase from your supply site if they will be back in stock soon. Last, would I need to change to 3-4 oz leather if I made the change, or could I use up what I had? Thank you again, sorry for the novel, just frustrated that I found a hobby I have a passion for, but the bicep repair is hindering it.
hello master, I admired the place of work, it is very good. I'm also a modelist in Turkey, I'm in love with this job just like you. lots of sets on beautiful models with those machines at your work
AWESOME space! Where do you have your dies made? Also, what is the material on your table tops? The white surface. It looks like you can cut and punch right on it!
Ryan! I always enjoyed your videos and have recently started into leather craft and honestly received a ton of tips from you! I hope someday to be as successful as you are. Thanks for being inspirational. PS The link in your description for the Samsung 55" TV monitor is the same link as the Phillips Hue lights!
Aeon had some features that I really liked. Like autofocus in the head also the chiller and fan are both inside the unit, the camera in the lid and a few other things. I’ll be doing a video soon about this.
Hi Ryan, from what I understood by watching your videos you usually cut the leather using the press and not the laser, may I know why you don't use a laser for each cut?
I keep finding myself breaking leather needles and leather stepper feet on my Heavy Duty Singer 4452 (4423?). Either that or my needle gets caught for some reason (does the thread have something to do with it?) I have the tension set so I'm able to get a several stitches in--so idk. I could use some LKG wisdom on this :(
I might still be in the corner of my garage and not have great desire to scale up to your level, but I always enjoy seeing how you set up your space and how I can maybe add to my set up to enjoy leather crafting more. Jamie at Jackthedog Leather
Where and how do you store your leather? I am having difficulty with that... of course, I don´t have an amazing shop like yours, but... still I am buying more leather than I can store in a box. :)
I’ve been looking to get my first leather sewing machine and I have been looking at the Techsew 4800 Pro. I have also been looking at the Cobra 26 by Leather Machine Co. Can you comment on the Cobra 26? I hear it is a decent machine but lacks some bells and whistles which I feel would give me buyer’s remorse if I got it.
I haven’t used a cobra machine before so I couldn’t really tell you. One thing I know is that you don’t need a needle positioning system or laser guide. The techsew pro has them but I never use it. I turn it off. All you need is a drop down edge guide and speed reducer at the end of the day.
@@LittleKingGoods Hi again. I pulled the trigger on the Techsew 4800 Pro. I have been searching all day on where to get the Organ needles and I can’t seem to find them. Do you have any suggestions on where to get the DPX17LR needles?

I don't know, to me it looks like you are actually working in your workshop. I see a lot of leather crafters on UA-cam that seem to just be set up to make videos. Our workshop has always been more functional, not necessarily pretty. Nice job!

I have a hawt dawg heater that I hung from my ceiling. I’d go with a radiant heater if I could do it again though!

Check out Bradshaw Steel Rule Dies
Hi Ryan, from what I understood by watching your videos you usually cut the leather using the press and not the laser, may I know why you don't use a laser for each cut?
The clicker press is way faster to cut patterns than a laser. Less prep work.

Pretty cool space! I love the style.
Thanks!
In what order did you acquire your sewing machines?? Was is the Jukie, the 669 and then the TechSew? And is there any specific reasoning to the order?
I got the Juki first, then the Alder and then the techsew
