Very impressive Briarwood Christian!!! My son fishes for Mortimer Jordan, and Briarwood has had some guys do well this year in Alabama Bass nation trail. Wow!!! 3 years in a roll from those two guys. Congrats 👍🏼

I’m new to the American bassmaster series. As an Aussie Carl Jocumsen has got me following the different levels. Why is this final held in Kentucky lake every year? I assume because it’s huge and has lots of variety but would love to know properly.

It’s a large lake and it’s kind of in the middle of the country so everyone can get to it, plus there’s shallow fishing deep fishing all that so it’s just makes for a good tourney

It’s there boat captain. Live well checks and watchful eyes on the boats at all times. Better than a random man on your boat with your kids unsupervised in my opinion.

@@UncleT_Fishing i wasn't looking at it from a child security standpoint. more the bias issue and the point of a marshal/co at least partly being to keep the boater honest just by acting as a disinterested witness.

I really thought that a boat captain was supposed to be just that. Only to operate the boat for the young men. I was under the impression that measuring fish even getting lures hung up in there net undone was the responsibility of the anglers. That is part of the game. Every minute that there lured is not in the water that is time there not caching fish. Clearly at 29:42 the captain is measuring there fish for them and tossing back the smaller fish. You even plainly hear the young man telling his da to measure a fish before he threw it back. He is the captain of the boat. I think he shouldn't even be able to touch the fish.
I may be wrong but I for one don't believe that is wrong. I think it turned out to be short but if it would have been 8 pounds then I believe that fish should have been disqualified.

I sincerely hope that you’re trolling with this comment, or joking. Weighing fish you didn’t catch is cheating. And as far as the tournament community is concerned, the worst sort of cheating.
There are a couple of things that really disturb me about your comment: y’all “Only did it twice”. Which tells me that you’ve somehow rationalized what you guys did, and somehow made it ok, or “not so bad” by “only” cheating twice. The second thing, which is even more concerning is that your boat captain set you up with fish that he/she caught for you, whether you asked the captain to do that or not doesn’t matter, he did it. This person has showed you that it’s ok to break the rules to get what you want. Except for putting your safety in danger I can’t imagine a worse example of behavior for a boat captain to demonstrate.
There is a team out there that didn’t get to go to state because of your team’s actions. That team may have have the opportunity to do well in the state tournament, which could have drastically changed their lives for the better. You took that away from those kids. Did they deserve that? Is that cool for you to cheat and then knock the out of the state tournament? Some teams and captains devoted a bunch of time, money, and heart to legitimately do well. They’ll never have that chance now.
I put 99% of the fault on the captain, and 1% on you guys.
I sincerely hope that you can examine what you have done and correct your moral turpitude before you get banned from tournaments for life.
Please don’t do stuff like this anymore. Please? It not fair. For you or the other competitors.

Good luck on your golfing. Work hard and you’ll have a good chance at a scholarship. Remember though, Integrity counts. If you do screw up and make a bad decision, own it 100%, make amends, and get back to work on doing what you love. Good luck, my friend.
