Honestly? Just make sure your laptop's audio and wi-fi system are compatible, if you can help it, and you should be totally fine. Hardware support is great these days.
You could check arch wiki for hardware support. wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Laptop
But unfortunately, even latest ThinkPad X1C doesn't support Linux that well for things like WAN (LTE, not WLAN) and fingerprinter.
And there are a lot of pitfalls regarding thunderbolt3, like eGPU hot unplug will just crash kernel for amdgpu, and X not really support hot gpu unplug.
pop os/ system 76 Manjaro ect LTT is not quite the channel for this check out Brian lunduke and garder the linux gamer ect instead. @Gra C
There aren't that many Linux laptops out there.
There are the known ones System76 Purism and Dell.
Dell being the only mainstream notebook producer.
There is a smaller company called Tuxedo, but it's questionable how much Linux integration work they really do.
Than there are Endless OS sellers like Acer, Asus, Lenovo. I personally wouldn't recommend Endless OS, because there Desktop isn't really made for productive workloads.
But it's atleast an indicator that Linux will work.
Then there are ChromeOS devices, which are now able to run Linux software on top of ChromeOS, if you just want to run Linux software and not a Linux desktop environment.
But Chromebooks are very often pretty compatible under Linux and can be installed afterwards or via a chroot environment.
Some people like to use Macbooks, I'm not really sure how good the compatibility is nowadays, but it was at least pretty good a few years back.
You could buy an Samsung tablet and use Linux on Dex, you could even use a Samsung smartphone for that, is a weird way of using Linux, but if you really want to.
What I wouldn't recommend is just buying a Windows Notebook and run Linux on that, not because it's not possible, but because there are options out their which are more tailored to Linux and will be less of a headache in the long run.
But if you really want to buy a Windows notebook for Linux, I would recommend something ordinary and try to avoid quirks like numpad in the touchpad and the like, these features most likely won't work.
I'd be interested to hear what he has to say. I have had issues with switchable graphics, cpu/gpu temps and fan speed, screen color calibration, screen led backlight PWM and others. It seems easier to use a desktop with Linux in my opinion, as it never seems to run quite right on a laptop.

Still play COD on my 360 with a Sony WEGA Crt via hdmi. Its awesome and its still hard to beat how smooth it is. Also for retro games its a must which I play frequently.
@@Endstille1996 it's probably the really high frequency noise that the electron gun makes in the CRT. It's close to 17,000hz if I recall correctly.

It could be tho, after playing around with frequency's (hearing tests for the lols), I noticed anything from 20-200Hz and 14kHz-22kHz gave me a headache (even though i didn't hear anything). Especially on high volume. I don't remember the full biochemistry of it tho but definetely plausible!
with a logitech mouse, you can set up flow, which moves the mouse from one computer to another and can even share files with drag and drop.

No. Requires an all modern system, 16GB or more RAM, TWO GPUs and three dozen emergency room visits from all the aneurysms you'll be getting trying to set it all up.
For the third day in a row I am trying to get this shit working with a Ryzen 3600 build but shitty second GPU options that lack EFI support. It's a fucking nightmare and I will almost certainly end up getting a cheap second hand RX460 for the linux host.
I know you all know this but I use parallels on my Mac to run windows side by side and in fact currently I am running dual screen Mac and a single screen Windows off of my Mac Mini and it works great but I realize that this was not the point of this video!!! Odd... I've been virtualizing MacOS for years. I wonder how many of these comments were KVM specific. ESXi runs it just fine, just technically you are breaking the EULA not running on official Mac hardware.
Also, why didn't they just use the Samsung 49' Monitors they have. I think it's the CRG9 that supported dual connections and could be utilized as a KVM.

You're lucky if you grabbed movie maker before they took down the download. Forget Movie Maker, kdenlive is the way to go. Sure that's the go-to software for Linux users due to the lack of video editing software on that platform but kdenlive runs on Windows 7 too.
Oh, and I don't care if this comment is a joke, I wrote this anyway, a lot of people probably actually are interested in a movie maker alternative and find this reply useful.

I know Linux and most of the staff don't really know it in depth, but since anthony started getting active, he made so pretty sick things with it. I spoke with him on Twitter and he told me he uses it as a daily driver on his personal machines, but LMG staff has to run Glasswire, Cinebench and Adobe at work, so either Windows or macOS

If I was Apple, I would hire Anthony right away. Put him in a corner-office with a nice view (maybe Steves old office). A couple of hundred thousand US dollars a year. I had to rewrite the Core in assembly launguage though,. It was a bit sluggish. But now it runs perfect on a 6510 @ 0,98 MHz. PAL, and 1.023MHz NTSC.".

@@DaftBoy06 You can play games (although not all), and if it cannot, there is WINE and other software that can translate the Windows games into Linux playable; though, can still be a gamble at times as you have to read their database to determine if the games run well on Linux in the first place.

I think what would really hurt windows and force apple as a company to stay on top interms of hardware would be to release their OS's as a consumer product but with hardware requirements.
The procedure to run Debian arm64 on Apple M1 is now very onerous, so you kinda do have to choose. The only way is QEMU on macOS.

I worked for them for roughly a year and a half)

Absolutely PLEASE. I do a lot of cross platform development and this setup would give me back half of my day in time savings.

Look out for AMD OSX or OSX86 there's a lot of deep tutorials. I already done it myself on my Ryzen build. Took a day to setup.
