The nut used is an M24. I was looking to figure out how to center load them until I heard someone say old versions of comp bells were loaded closer to the handle. Also this would be a similar center of gravity to hardstyle bells.

For getting the weight loaded centrally I got a thin pvc pipe and cut it into 2 different heights and load it before the plates as a spacer if I'm using under 16~20kg

i weight around 70kg. indeed started with a 16kg and now working with a 20kg bell. i still use an 8kg for warming up though, it's a fun thing to start a long sequence of movements that can get quite complicated for warming up and then changing to serious weights for training. i also started using my 8kg as an anchor for club circles and mills and it's a good thing to have a really light one for testing new things.
bought all 3 bells before good adjustable ones became affordable in europe. next buy is an adjustable one, for sure.

I bought the Titan one first and like it okay but I couldn't find a good tool to take the nut off at my local hardware store. I was so happy to get the Kettlebell Kings one and that its tool works for the Titan one. As a side note, the hex keys are different between these two brands.

I’ve got 3 adjustable titan comp bells and have been those bells for a couple years. Mine came with an 8mm Allen/hex wrench but not the wrench for the nut that holds the plates in place. An adjustable wrench isn’t perfect but gets the job done. The Bells of Steel (BOS), Kettlebell Kings (KBK) and SoCal Kettlebellz (SCK) apparently are all made in the same factory to the same level of quality/fit and finish. The BOS, KBK and SCK are a bit nicer than titans that I’ve got. The handles on my titans are a bit more prone to corrosion than my fixed weight 20kg KBK comp bell but still acceptable. I live in Southern California, train at the beach and keep my bells outside.

Thanks for the video. I just got mine today from Bells of Steel branch in the US and noted the 'how did you hear about us" as your channel. Free shipping too! Priced well considering it can replace all my other KB's. I used the PVC trick noted below to centrally load the bell for lighter weights. Saves time when changing weights as well. Thanks again.

This type of information is _so_ valuable! Starting out with the right equipment may seem expensive, but it's so expensive in so many ways to start out with the _wrong_ equipment. I may end up with one of each _in addition to_ the adjustable club.
PS: Someone was talking about competition kettlebell storage. I'm going to be playing with the idea of using a cheapo Igloo six-pack cooler and bubblewrap. It seems almost the perfect thing to put behind the seat of your car. The only real questions are if it can take the beating and if the handle can take the weight. I'll be playing with that when I get my adjustable.
Also, as someone mentioned in a live stream, what would be really cool would be a magnet set with the competition weights and colors so you could put the magnet on it while it's unused to denote what weight it's adjusted to. That might be an interesting item for someone like Bells of Steel to differentiate themselves by offering. A temporary solution would be to slap a Post-it on an Igloo containing the kettlebell.

    • @CarbageMan

      @@MarkWildman You bet!
I don't plan to travel much with it, but I'll be prepared to, and I can try lugging it around and maybe stashing it in my car for a while between workouts.
As far as the handle, I'm thinking 32kg is a lot more than a six-pack and as much water and ice, though. The rule of thumb for design would probably be 3-5x the expected load. The adjustable is on order, but I put a 35lb kettlebell in the one I have, and the handle seemed to be able to take that.

I found it’s too big for Igloo I have and I haven’t gotten around to seeing if it fits in a larger one.
I got dry erase magnets and they aren’t flexible enough or strong enough to recommend but they “work” well enough to sorta use. Would probably work better if there was a flat spot. I end up placing the magnet under the horn and removing it when using the kettlebell so it doesn’t fall off. It’s probably easier to store the current weight on my phone.

I've been using some 1 inch pvc pipe that I cut down. I was shooting for the "center load", but I think I like it more to eat up some threads. With the piece of pipe in place I have fewer twists of the nut. So more of a convenience thing.
Also. The pipe was more accessible then the extra nut. Stores near me don't carry nuts up to that size.

I’ve got 3 adjustable titan kettlebells (similar to KBK) as well as another 1000lbs of kettlebells. I like being able to have lighter/heavier kettlebells than 12-32. I also like being able to not have to change the weight between every set if slightly increasing the weight after each set or different movements. Another thing that is able to add fun to kettlebell workouts is looping a towel through the handle and slamming it into the ground (I mostly train in sand) or throwing. Adjustable kettlebells are great and seem pretty durable but i wouldn’t try throwing or slamming my adjustable bells - that’s what fixed weight ones are for.

I’ve got 3 adjustable titan kettlebells which are basically the same thing. Using them without the bottom half risks damaging the threads - which I’ve done. When the threaded rod has damaged threads it makes getting the nut back on a pain in the butt. I’ve weighed the bottom sections of mine and my little scale said that they were about 4kg. Using the tip of either the top or bottom of an adjustable wrench and pounding on it with a little plate has been able to get it to pretty much work but… its a hassle and you can only abuse threads so much until they’re done. Leaving a nut at the end of the threaded rod would work - if you used it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I wouldn’t recommend lifting the adjustable comp kettlebells without the bottom. Small kettlebells are cheaper than bigger ones. I’ve got smaller kettlebells for when a smaller kettlebell is called for - for a reason.

Does the adjustable KB make most hardstyle programmes obsolete? For example most programmes are use 5-8 or 6-12 rep max.
So how would one unpack that with all available increments in the adjustable. Do you end up doing way more volume to get to the same strength goals.

Adjustable kettlebells allow micro loading. This allows you to train at different rep ranges on different days while maintaining similar levels of challenge/difficulty. Micro loading also allows you to choose different types of progressions such as wave loading which doesn’t work well with 4kg jumps between weights. Think about the ways that power lifters and only lifters are able to nerd out over programming, progression as well as effectively deciding to train heavy triples, 5’s, 8’s or doing 5+ min sets… which train strength endurance/conditioning. Most of the programs for kettlebells don’t have small progressions or nerd out on what percentage of 1 rep max (1RM) and such that you can with barbells. Adjustable comp kettlebells allow this. In terms of program design and such barbells and kettlebells should be able to have similar math and science - but with kettlebells you need to be able to have small increments of weights.

@markwildman.Have you used the kettlebell kings adjustable 4 - 18 kg kettlebell ? Thinking about getting one for your upcoming overweight and deconditioned program . Will it be all single armed exercises ? Cheers.

I saw the bow flex branded version of that kettle bell at Scheel’s. The adjuster got jammed. I could not get it to select weights. I picked it up but did not like how it felt on my arm in the rack position. I own some 15 and 20 lbs cast bells With a vinyl on the bells that I would not recommend. I had to file the handles to get rid of sharp ridges, The bottoms aren’t flat and are uncomfortable in the rack position compared to a competition Bell. I also own an 8 kg and 10 kg competition bells from Titan who’s fit and finish is not has good as the adjustable kettle bell from Kettlebell King but superior to the cast bells with vinyl at a comparable price. So I guess my recommendation is competition bells under 12 kilograms and an adjustable competition Bell 12 kg and above

A better choice might be the rep 8-16 kg adjustable KB.

Is the handle opening the same between the BOS and KBK? Read somewhere there was a difference of 0.3in (4.5 inches for KBK, 4.8 for BOS). Can anyone confirm this?

KBK cancelled my Black Friday order so I didn't even get the deal. They sold their products out of stock and I saw on Reddit I was not the only one. Ordered some from Bells of Steel instead. KBK doesn't seem to have good customer service nowadays.

Alright I need to get these to get rid of the clutter. I have various weights in kettlebells, clubs, and maces.
Aren’t these kettlebells cutting into the profits of kettlebell sellers? I feel they will soon break apart the package. Kettlebell only and weights separate.
