The Truth About the Magi: Separating Fact from Fiction
Who were the Magi? Forget the nativity scene stereotypes! These mysterious travelers weren’t kings, and there weren’t necessarily three of them. The Bible describes them as wise men from the East (Matthew 2:1-12), likely Persian or Babylonian scholars skilled in astronomy and prophecy. Their journey was guided by a celestial event-possibly a planetary conjunction or a miraculous star-and their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh symbolized Jesus’ kingship, divinity, and sacrifice.
The Magi’s visit wasn’t just about bearing gifts; it fulfilled prophecies like Numbers 24:17 and Isaiah 60:6. Despite political danger and Herod’s schemes, they courageously sought Jesus, worshiping Him as the universal King. Their story reminds us that the search for truth transcends boundaries and still resonates today.
Discover the real story behind the Magi: who they were, what they saw, and why their journey matters to us.

The tag "3 wise men" is really not mentioned in the bible. This concept of there being three people, has been taught for so long that it has become generally accepted. I even failed this question this Christmas during a quiz. The number of wise men was not stated in the bible. We just assume they were three because of the gifts given.
Early church tradition sais they were 3 and tradition>bible.
There were no 3 wise men. There are only Wise men. Read your Bible properly brother.
