How beautiful. As much as I adored Civ V music, VI has gotten it so much more authentic ... I'm just transported to another time and place when I hear it.
Me too. I played as China and Korea was my close ally. And we of course get a science victory. Together 💪 It was so nice campaign. Korea is a great friend and I can't get out that great song out of my head ❤️
The rhythm and instruments of this song make me think of a festival, such as one held at a temple where people dance under a starlit night full of colourful lanterns.
i thought of something similiar. a streetfestival/parade at night, with the colourful lanterns you meantioned. like a big march where all villagers join the parade while they go to the, again like you said, temple for e.g. rly beautifull song
For me, a Korean, the first part of the song is arranged into what feels like would play in the biggest national holiday, the Lunar New Year. Extended families gather after 5~10 hours of driving on an extremely congested highway the day prior. The morning ritual is conducted on an altar full of food unless you're Christian or the whole family agreed not to because everyone is ageing and there are not enough future generations to carry it on. I miss preparing the ritual food with grandma, big aunt and mom. Grandma is not here anymore. Aunt is too busy working in a care home. Mom's waist pain has become too bad to do that much cooking in one day. We buy most of the food now. But one food on the altar for the deceased ancestors is made sure to be cooked at home. 잡채, seasoned glass noodles with vegetables. It was grandma's favorite.
But Arirang was formulated during the 1800's which would be the Industrial Era. And it was not instrumental, I dont feel how civ v is any more displaced then civ vi's arirang

In my Genghis Khan game which I lost the savefile to before I could conquer Egpyt, I had Horseman'd Seondeok, and this kept playing over and over and I felt sad because I'm Korean but happy because this is fire
The worst thing about this song is that unless you are playing Marathon you only hear this for like 3 seconds before Korea just blitzkriegs the tech tree.
I think that's because the Kakariko village theme is based on East Asian traditional music and this is basically East Asian traditional music too! (I'm Korean) Both of Civ 6's Arirang and BotW's Kakariko theme also has common in wind instrument as main instrument, so I think it is very nice coincidence.
Peter Kochevar its a 민요 (minyo) form the Joseon period - intended to be sung with concrete words with one female human voice only (sometimes with an accompaniment of a drum). Its a low-class common peoples song, and the aristocracy or the Middle class avoided singing it in the first place. Otherwise they would appear low. And they were the ones who had access to the various instruments.
@@cometmoon4485 That’s because orchestra has become a globalized form of music that by its nature uses European instruments. Chinese music is a niche bit of instruments that is only relevant to China and is only used for other Asian countries from a outside perspective due to confusion, a mistake, or just stereotyping.

Well, it's not always for the better. The Drums of Poundmaker can be really annoying in Ancient Era
And the Mauri ancient hakka thing too..
Yeah, I got transported from the ancient age, to the Atomic age. All jokes aside, Civ 6 tracks are great.
Korea has a Medieval theme?
I thought it only had Ancient and Atomic.
It has a theme for every era, except for modern and information i think

Daryl Moradilla Yep.

TheBraveGallade Well civ V Korean war music sounded very Korean to me.

This is my favorite song in Civilization VI.
It's a wonderful song that makes me feel the history of Korea.
The choices of all civ 6 BGM is so considerate. Love it.

There are a lot of really cool, fun, and epic themes in the game, but this is easily the single most catchy.

Ha wait until you hear some of Korea's ambient music. They have a looot of drum/percussion solos
Actually we have many music that are consisted of JUST drums and percussion instruments.
Try listening to some samul-nori, really cool
This version far closer to the source material than Civ5's Arirang.
not really. Source material does not involve any instruments.
