If you log in to the web interface from a computer there is a button for this, but I rarely do that. Usually I just shut down the drive, then take out the card once it's off.
I bought it 2 years ago and today I was told by the technical service WD removed the wireless app to use it as a wireless hard drive. That is rediculous that you have a wireless hard drive but you cannot utilize the wireless function at all.
John Huron tbh, I just got it. Like last night... I remember it asking it I wanted to do that, but I declined it. I use google photos for that, or google drive if it’s a longer video. I got this almost specifically for the offloading of GoPro footage without a laptop. I’m playing around with it today tho... I’ll let you know if I find anything helpful. 😊
John Huron found this... it says it does that... at least that’s how I interpret the notification... but, I’ve got way too much on the phone to leave it on, would take a year. Lol. Maybe in September with the new phone. www.dropbox.com/s/dbswkxxwfw45001/IMG_4932.TRIM.MOV?dl=0
I have run into a snag with my WD My Passport Wireless Pro. As far as a storage device all is well. BUT, when I try and play/view 4K video files over WiFi on my 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9 they stutter and sputter. If I download the same file to the iPad the video plays fine. Is the “Write” speed not up to 4K? Any help would be most appreciated.
Glad it works for you. The principal is excellent. But it has not storred a sigle file for me. Nor even connected to any device.
Simple question… What’s the procedure for ejecting the SD card? Is there a Safeway of doing this without the potential corruption of data?

Can’t figure out why this device was discontinued by western digital. There is nothing like it now on the market.
maybe these days we can just buy 500GB or 1TB micro SD cards?

Nice review. Can’t seem to find and info on saving photos from my iPhones Photos app to the WD Wireless Plus. Is this possible?
John Huron yes. It asks if you want that functionality during setup.
de4ek Thanks. Is there something specific in the Setup Menu that I need to select?

Does anyone know how to reset or format a WD passport wireless drive to the original settings using Mac utility.
Can you use when charging upload an sd card?
Yes
I just ordered this. Does it have a cable to use with my computer vs. wifi?
Yes, it should come with a cable.
