One of my best childhood memories! I didn't know there was one in Atlantic City as well. I've also posted a short clip on the Marineland of the Pacific. Check out my "81stainless" channel. Thanks for watching.
They had two of those at the old "Astroland" park in Coney Island, New York. I was there as a kid with my grandfather in the 1970s. The two bells would descent and abruptly pop to the surface in a whiplashing fun bob-up! There was even fish and marine life, as it was also a small aquarium that served as the water tank for the attraction. Thanks for sharing this!
I remember seeing a show on those back in the day. The ones at Coney Island were red and white if I’m not mistaken. I was at Coney Island last month, was wondering what location they were at and what’s there now.
I heard unlike the submarine ride at Disneyland, they used to put real fish, crabs, and octopus down there for you to see. Probably my first choice for a time travel ride at Playland.
I remember the Diving Bells at P.O.P. (Pacific Ocean Park). I ate a hot dog lunch and then went on the ride, then came off the diving bell and immediately threw up. What a wasted hot dog sandwich.
I rode in the diving bell at the Atlantic City boardwalk in 1964. Lots of fun!

Looks fun! 😁
I rode on that diving bell and was terrified.
I remember that when I was a kid, my big brother went on but I was too scared to go with him 😢
I did go on it with my big brother and survived! Sorry that you missed the opportunity. Thanks for watching.

Amazing historic footage! May I use this in a video I'm making about this ride's history? I will give your channel full credit.
