Yep we Aussies love having our living area/kitchen open up and flow into outdoors especially since we love our bbq get together. Unfortunately housing prices keep getting crazier so having a nice decent size backyard is going to be out of reach for many soon.
I feel like most of these house tours are of huge villas with entire theaters and waterfalls and the celebs are always like 'yeah, we rarely use this', or 'we rarely come here' for like 40% of the house which is just sad and wasteful, and here you see how much Troye invested in every detail and most things actually have a purpose and he actually uses them. It's refreshing.
This is why I'd prefer this size of a house over a huge mansion. It feels more personal and like "human-centric" rather than grand and like some sort of business center. Not saying it's only about size though, Troye has a great feeling for design and put lots of thought into it, but it still feels eclectic and effortless.
That’s because tryoes house is more true to himself and less about material stuff This is a house I would get if I had the same money as troye Not more not less Just enough to satisfy my geeky needs
Yeah. Many celebs just want to have penthouses in LA, and they are really big and with homegyms pools and bars etc they are definitely for those who like to throw partys. Houses like Dan Bilzerian or Jake Paul as an example. But I would rather want a big apartment or like this guy and personalize it after my own interests in a cozy town or whatever, instead of being in a 10 million dollar house with nothing but white interior in LA.
He's one of those few celebrities who actually has a beautiful and useful house and not a house that's just a big flex. I loved the architecture and how historical it is...
Actually it is kind of a flex.... If you live in Melbourne n saw out the window. You know a house like that sort of area of that size is bloody expensive. It just doesn’t look expensive but it bloody is 😂 Especially if it’s around St. Kilda/ Middle Park/ South Melbourne.
@@liarmclies Yep that's what I thought. When he was showing the park, I thought it looked like around Carlton/ Fitzroy North- perhaps around Lygon St? Beautiful home. And yes, def multimillion dollar home. I'm just glad he came home and didn't stay in the US. I hope he gets his dog to come too. iT's interesting how there are many Australian celebrities who have homes in Australia and prefer to live here than in the US. They must have a pretty chill lifestyle here- able to head out like a normal person and minimal stalking paparazzi.
Troye Sivan has stunningly good taste. His eye for colours is incredible. What surprises me is that every single book in the house is about design, architecture, photography, the visual arts. You'd never guess the owner is a singer-songwriter. And now I'm homesick for Australian birds.
When he first started doing UA-cam videos around 2011 or so (give or take), he did talk a lot about design, and it was very clear in the editing, artwork, lighting, etc. that he is a talented designer as well as a musician and actor.
it struck me that he talked about his love of voyeuristic and documentary style photography because that's what he did with two of his big new music videos!!! He's such a real one
Can we appreciate the fact, that he’s so invested in this house. Like he genuinely knows about the designers and artists and is exited to show every little detail. So many celebrities don’t even know of the specialties they have in their houses
but its better though xD, i just come from the russian billionaire house in new york damn he is involved in the design, some of it look extremely tacky, should have left all the designing to the designer
Yes agreed, his home is obviously lovely but it's the way he talks about it that really made this video feel special. He has so much enthusiasm and appreciation for everything he has and it draws you in and makes you feel welcome in his space. It was a joy to watch.
Troye seems like he actually loves where he lives, and doesn’t just have fancy/expensive things because he can. He took the time to find things that he likes and wants to have in his home.
Exactly. I wanna ask so badly how much they all cost him but I feel like he didn't care for the cost, he just got whatever he felt fit with his comfort zone and voila ✨
Wow. A celebrity that actually promotes a sustainable way of living and actually understands the value building adaptation and retrofitting. He's downsized to what he really needs. I'm really impressed by the materiality and the beautiful tadelakht and Venetian plaster. Also the ms detailing in this house is insane.
@@dh9743 compared to the rest of this channel this place is very cosy. No formal dining room or giant unused study, and his sister actually lives there too
@@knucklesskinner253 Australia has extremely strict animal quarantine laws because we have no rabies and other diseases. It's very difficult and takes a long time to get permission to bring a dog here from another country.
And the bath tub, we got rid of the closet crazy I know but wait, gets in tub lol but the lamps , I would get excited by those easy! Gorgeous atmospheres in this house
As an Aussie, this vid really made me realise that no matter what socio-economic 'level' your house is at, the house seems to always have the outside centering it. Like, having the whole garden encircle the house, or whichever space overlooks it the most be full of windows and sliding doors. Every house I've ever lived in has been like that.
He's one of the celeb that has a real house, everyone else just looks like a hotel, his is so creative and homie, I would go over to his house every chance I get

@@k_a_y_l_e_e yes!!! that’s the best way of saying it! the other places always look like they’re just for decoration where as this looks like someone actually lives here
He isn't bragging the money. He is showing everyone his dream home and the artistic and AMZING features of it.. That's why he is different from other celebritites
@@zahragholizadeh8863 No one is saying it didn't cost money. They are just saying that Troye showcased his love for art, appreciation of the history behind the home, and the sanctuary he's built for himself and does so in a not over-the-top/flashy way, as opposed to most celebrities who have insane mansions, which look nice, but only utilize like 1/2 the space in it because most of it is mainly for decoration or to show off.
I love how his home is actually homey..? like most celebrities opt for the super generic looking mansions that give off this uncomfortable lonely but rich vibe. Troye’s is just beautiful.
So many celebrities are like, “here’s my formal dining room, we never use it. Here’s my 5th room that I never go into. I only use 1/4 of my house the rest is just to show off”
he's living in every introvert's dream paradise, if my house was like that, i would probably never got to see the outside world again coz this house itself is already like a heaven for me, literally
That's what I thought too. I'm super introverted but I love sunlight and plants. Leaving in an apartment though I got to get out to get those things lol
Same my friend, I was so surprised by how amazing his taste in interior design is. I was like "wow, this is an introvert's paradise" absolutely perfect for me who is an introvert and would love a house like this that suits me haha.
As someone who typically likes that LA type of house, even I can say I totally agree!! I would love to see more houses with real character, and personality like this!
That's because many celebrities don't have a particular sense of style, and often just let interior designers do their thing, instead of making it their own.
I used to watch Troye back in his UA-cam days, and watching this video made me weirdly emotional about how far he’s come to be able to create such a lovely home for himself.
how is it that he's got this sweet, childlike energy, but also this proud soccer-mum vibe? This house is a real extension of him: warm, cozy, elevated.
I love the courtyard garden and the fact that whole house doesn't look trendy like most houses of youtubers do, but has it's own very artistic and sophisticated style
@@juliederdaine1947 yes i know what BUT it’s not fair to call him that because he got famous MORE for him being a singer. we don’t call shawn mendes a youtuber now do we?
Most gorgeous house yet in this entire series. Some famous ppl's homes just lack personality, comfyness, seem rarely occupied, no books, no organic vibe, no love just loneliness, but this house has ALL of that. Beautiful!
I visit this probably too often, but I just can't quit. Troye reminds me of my First Beloved, who also spent a lot of time ( of the time we were together) clad in faded jeans and midnight blue socks . . . without shoes when possible. That summer we were together was the best summer of my life.
If I had the patience to do minimalism I would but the people who just purposely do the white and marble houses with the most basic decorations (or no decorations) ever are trying so hard it bothers me >
@@clowicous ikr !! Like it’s your house . Your allowed to have colour and decoration thats your own. The point is it’s suppose to be a house not a show room..
"I'm only 25 and this house is, like, 146 years old." Troye is giving me 'baby vampire' energy. It's obvious he will still be draped across his couch 146 years from now.
This is insane. He has such a good taste and he is so self-conscious despite his young age. This house is a piece of art, I am so impressed. Only by looking at this house I would say he is such a beautiful human being. Just amazing.
Sounds to me he has a good decorator. He doesn't seem to know much about anything, and it looks like a cool loft in a magazine, or a pricy airb'n'b. He's young...
@@ole340 perhaps, but at least he’s well aware of the history of the house, the artists that he chose to highlight, and the type of styling he wanted to have. Who cares if he worked with someone to bring it to life, and who cares if he’s young? Clearly it’s perfect for him. It’s gorgeous
@@BrunetteGiant When I say he's young, it's a explanation, not a reproach. He knows his lesson, but it doesn't seem to be a personal choice, it's like a nice catalogue.
It can be done by interior designers but at least he’s surrounded by good taste. The are so many other pop stars with tacky homes, that’s actually impressive and pleasant to see a space like this. I noticed there’s also a list of links for the furniture in the description, so it’s difficult to know what’s staged and promotional and what’s genuine inside the boutique home.
I have the same thoughts. I mean, for someone like me who is a home-buddy (even before pandemic), a house that feels like a sanctuary will be perfect. It doesn't necessarily have to be huge or mansion-like, I just want it to have the same feels as Troye's..
This is probably the coziest and homiest of all celebrity homes I've seen. It's modern but not super crazy that it feels like you're living at a hotel. It's nice, adopt me Troye
Very refined taste for a man of his age! This was actually one of the best AD tours I’ve seen. So not generic at all. He had real artwork all over, not these boring digital art posters that you see everywhere. The materials and colors and texture were lovely. The courtyard was breathtaking and the outdoor bathroom, wow. Beautiful place to call home.
@@01Sjohn Yes, it is real art, but I agree with the original comment. It's cool to see 3-D artwork that he thoughtfully picked out and that an artist created with their bare hands. I feel like so many celebs buy posters and photos simply because they're popular and trendy, but Troye's choice of art speaks to his personal style.
Every interview I see with him, he is sweet and humble and grateful and adorably young feeling. Even interviews for his new video Rush have him feeling young, despite the content of the video.
I just love how he kicked off his shoes when getting on the green couch and continued the tour in socks. I don’t trust people who put their dirty shoes on the couch
I don’t know who he is but I love that he appreciates the house so much. It shows a lot of maturity for his age. With the outdoor spaces and natural light throughout it’s truly beautiful and peaceful and I would never leave.
i absolutely loooove that he intentionally made a space in his home for his sister and was proud he did it and that she loved it and it was hers. that is a lovely, lovely moment that i feel needs to be appreciated.
This is the perfect example of quality over quantity. Some American houses on here are so big and soulless, this ‘small’ house has so much life in it. The devil’s in the details, love it.
I just like to come back to this every few weeks and remind myself that this is what I’m working and studying and saving for. Literal paradise for a bookworm introvert who also loves raves and music and any kind of art.
This guy is truly talented and have a great sense of anesthetics. Every room reflects a shade of his personality and balances well with the Melbourne climate

I love how much he's embodied Australian identity in his house - the outside toilet harks back to the 'dunny', which then reminds me out Round the Twist, the amount of windows which let the inside and the outside merge, and also how moody and textured everything is. Modern Australia is a very 'split' kind of place with a sunny surface that covers some deeper insecurities which we all stay a bit quiet about, but are always rumbling under the surface. I feel like moody aesthetics in Australian design kind of speak to that, blips in our shiny happy surface which tell more of the real story.
I love how he gets a bit distracted with the interview and just starts telling the camera man "oh come here look look!" Especially with the books. I just felt like I was there and he's giving me a house tour.
This is quintessential Australian architecture and design at its finest. The warm, subdued colours, earth tones and nature vibes. I dream to have a house like this when I am older.
I dream of this and I’m 52 🤣 oh boy if I knew then about life what I know now. Learn to put yourself first... Always.....and then you can fulfil your dreams.
A lot of the houses usually don't have personality they are just nice, Troye's house shows his personality and h made it his own. His house is beautiful.
I can honestly say that i am actually impressed with his house because he actually made a home. Other homes look like someone just wanted to show off their money
I haven't known about him before and now I'm falling in love with him because of his house. It's so weird I've never thought that it's possible to love someone for this reason.
I think it is sweet that his sister lives with him. Troye, for all his fame, really is a family guy. I have seen previous videos where that is evident. He relates to them like a regular person.
What a trip: life can change so quickly for some people. I attended the GLAAD Awards in 2016 and was seated next to Troye at a table way in the back, by the exits. I had no idea who he was at the time. We talked all through dinner and he never once mentioned what HE was there for; he was so humble and sweet, and he only mentioned that he "loves singing and hoped he could one day be one of the speakers on that stage". He was nominated for something comparatively small to the rest of the guests (I don't even remember what for) and didn't win. I didn't hear his name again for a couple years after that but look at him now! What a beautiful home, and I'm sure he's worked hard for it!
And the year after he received GLAAD’s big Stephen Kolzak award. His acceptance speech is very special, and impressive for someone being just 21. So well spoken, informed, heartfelt and funny. m.ua-cam.com/video/PVf26HxleYo/v-deo.html
It’s perfect. And it’s him. I would never leave this house and always have a million friends over. It’s not ostentatious. I wouldn’t feel bad about sitting anywhere. Some houses look too much like museums. This one is so organic.
I love how his home actually looks like a home with character and style, and he appreciates the design elements and art in his home unlike a lot of the celebs! And I love how he appreciates the history. His house is gorgeous
I would love to own my own home and watching Troye is so uplifting and such a joy because he is so full of gratitude. He is so involved in every single choice every surface and so appreciative of what went before so love and enjoy his tour. And that couch sounds amazing.
He is one of the most articulate people I've ever seen. He just starts speaking and has an amazing flow of spontaneous speech. I'd love to hang out with him.
I was thinking about this too. I feel like if he had an American accent, some of the things he said would have sounded cliche or cringe to me as a fellow American, but because he has an Aussie accent it sounds cool, articulate, etc. And I'm saying this as an American (who was born in Australia actually but doesn't have the accent haha). Interesting how perceptions are gathered from accents, as well as your relation to them/whether they're novel to you.
You know that feeling where your body is sore and you just had a hot shower, about to light some candles and jump into your freshly cleaned bed? His home is the embodiment of that feeling
1. You are so delightful! 2. I got sick of hearing you say sick. 3. Your home is amazing! Love the cork ceilings, the lighting, garden. Everything! Wishing you the best always!
I love how this is clearly designed for comfort and i adore how he can’t decide which part of it he likes more. This *feels* like a home, not just a house.
Having followed Troye for years seeing him sneak in his understated, straight-faced humor is a joy I can’t describe. Obviously the “not a lot of people know this about me but I’m very very gay”. But to me the hidden gem is “I do always have a cut up apple tree in my house, that wasn’t just for the AD shoot”. His way of being comfortable in his own skin and not taking himself too seriously has always been inspiring.
Yes! He does not get enough credit for his humour. He’s always making quick remarks, but his “straight faced” delivery, as you put it, is probably why people who don’t know him very well fail to pick up on it. His humour is one of my favourite qualities of his!
Ah yes, Cassie! He has this way with his low-key intelligent humor, at the same time being earnest and ‘real’ sharing his complex experiences as a gay kid from the suburbs, later as a gay kid feeling out of place in LA. His twitter and now tiktok is a whole mood. He’s really one to be appreciated.

As someone who has traveled to Melbourne multiple times, it makes sense why he would feel so home sick and wanna move back. Melbourne is such a beautiful city with so much character, not to mention it’s one of the safest cities in the world.
What is “characterful” and “beautiful” about Melbourne in your opinion? To me it looks WAY too modern, as I personally dislike modern architecture; especially skyscrapers... but of course we’re all different. Anyway I’m just curious to hear a different perspective.
I’ve been following Troye since his teen youtube days where he mostly just shoots in his room and to see him now where he has this beautiful home is just making me proud of how far he’s gotten
this is my first time hearing of this guy but i think i have finally found my house! i've watched these vids for years and the only other celeb house i liked was lenny kravitz's brazil home. this place really spoke to me and i hope this guy continues to find warmth & peace in his home!
Me too! Hands down this house and Lenny Kravitz's appeal to me the most. In case you haven't checked it out already, I did like Dakota Johnson's too, it's similarly open with nature and features warm & calming tones.
Can't believe how far he has come. HIs youtube career to his music career shows how much the internet can help talent grow and evolve. Im so proud of troye. Hope your dreams come true whoever is reading this!
He was also in a very popular South African trilogy called Spud. One of my favorite childhood/teenage books and movies! You should watch it if you haven’t already💕 just to see baby Troye lol. It was actually news to me that he was australian, I found out after the first movie came out!
I can still remember watching him as a youtuber and then him dropping happy little pill for the first time, and I knew back then he was gonna go places. Love him
Australian interior design is legit the best in the world right now. I love watching Never Too Small a The Local Project to get inspiration. Having native flowers in the garden and throughout the house is such a nice touch.
Melbourne is definetely huge on this. They have some amazing and very interesting artitecture especially with their old buildings. Im from Sydney but have been to Melbourne 3 times now and its always so amazing to go through the city and look at everything :)

I love the fact that he renovated an old house instead of building a completely new one like most celebs do?? It's amazing to see how you can use the space differently with just a little creativity.
To be fair, most houses in parts of Melbourne that are trendy will have heritage restrictions. So the local council won't let you just bulldoze the house and start fresh unless there is some unusual situation, like the house is structurally unsafe. I've never heard of this guy before, its odd because I've lived in Melbourne my whole life and he isn't known as a local celebrity.

Troye seems like he actually loves where he lives, and doesn’t just have fancy/expensive things because he can. He took the time to find things that he likes and wants to have in his home.
I'd like to do that one day too
“And doesn’t just have fancy expensive things because he can”
Well, you know, except for the multimillion dollar house
he does have fancy expensive things - but everything has been carefully curated
Exactly. I wanna ask so badly how much they all cost him but I feel like he didn't care for the cost, he just got whatever he felt fit with his comfort zone and voila ✨
Looks like a down to earth guy - not snobbish 😊
Did anyone else watch Troye when he was first starting in UA-cam and is now absolutely blown away by how successful he’s become 😳
Yesss. Legit been watching him since the earrrly UA-cam days. And I’m still mind blown

Yes before his coming out, he's just so beautiful, and now he looks so matured
Hi! Could you please recommend some of his early youtube videos to watch??
Been here since ice&salt challenge!
Wow. A celebrity that actually promotes a sustainable way of living and actually understands the value building adaptation and retrofitting. He's downsized to what he really needs. I'm really impressed by the materiality and the beautiful tadelakht and Venetian plaster. Also the ms detailing in this house is insane.
Downsized... To a house for a family of 15.

I love that. Wish it was like that here in the United States.
I am so in love with his living room, it looks like a warm hug. On the other hand, I find his outdoor bathroom kind of scary. It's a nice balance.

When he said, "I want everyone to have a home that's like a place that you think of when you're meditating" *that hit deep*
I have the same thoughts. I mean, for someone like me who is a home-buddy (even before pandemic), a house that feels like a sanctuary will be perfect. It doesn't necessarily have to be huge or mansion-like, I just want it to have the same feels as Troye's..

Emmmm FYI digital art is still art nonetheless. Just because it's done with a different medium doesn't take away its credibility
Yea it’s the gay
@@01Sjohn Yes, it is real art, but I agree with the original comment. It's cool to see 3-D artwork that he thoughtfully picked out and that an artist created with their bare hands. I think it is sweet that his sister lives with him. Troye, for all his fame, really is a family guy. I have seen previous videos where that is evident. He relates to them like a regular person.
I went to his concert a few years ago and his family was there and his mom was dancing the whole time (with dua lipa btw)

I'd love to hang out with him.

yesss right i enjoy it very much
I was thinking about this too.
That's why i love his music. He writes most of his lyrics and for me none of his albums has skip songs.
You know that feeling where your body is sore and you just had a hot shower, about to light some candles and jump into your freshly cleaned bed? His home is the embodiment of that feeling
Or when your on a road trip and finally get to use thebathroom

3. Your home is amazing! Love the cork ceilings, the lighting, garden. Everything!
Wishing you the best always!
His house has the same warm vibe that his music does.
This is what I thought as well! It's very Troye for him
I love how this is clearly designed for comfort and i adore how he can’t decide which part of it he likes more.
