    That was awesome Cousin Jim! Thank you for show casing one of the great American success stories and it comes 2 miles from where I was born and raised and I am damn proud of them and what they have become. What Avet did is absolutely amazing and they should have a TV documentary done on them as back in the 90's Shimano and Penn absolutely owned the big game and offshore reel market and I mean owned. You walked into any tackle store at the time from West to East coast and that was all you saw as it was the best at the time next to the very expensive Accurate reels that were out of most anglers budgets. Avet came from no where not only challenging the top two in dominance but took them over and showed them the way as to what American Engineering could do in making high end reels. I salute you Avet!! Thank you for giving us great gear for the past 25 years and also letting us feel good about buying a American product that was not inferior and incredibly expensive but reasonably priced and superior in quality. Keep up the great work and in keeping USA products relevant.

    Love my sxj g2 for the bay and local inshore. Can fish 30 lb line at 7 pounds of drag , no problem. Mostly it sees 15-20lb line work.
    Avet hxj single speed " Alaska special" is also one of my favorites.

    Nice tour of the company Jim. CNC machines do what they’re programmed to do. Just because of the 2 turn reel seat screw I went back to Shimano. The MXL will be the only Avet reel I will own.
    Screw in those reel seat body screws and you’ll see most will go down further than 2 threads of the screw.
    Just being honest Jim. 👏👏👏

      You go to a subpar aluminum reel because of a part that never fails on a T6061 aluminum reel? That doesn't really add up to me.

    • @Blueskies-h3e
      @Blueskies-h3e 5 місяців тому

      @@JeffreySmith-m3y It doesn’t matter if it fails or not. 2 threads is not enough. Because if that it tells me a lot about your quality. I will not buy another Avet reel.

      @@Blueskies-h3e never heard of the reel foot coming off on avets while fishing. The only time mine has come off is when I removed the screws myself to service my reel.

    • @Blueskies-h3e

      @ Two turns on the screw isn’t enough. Yes I told the company and they said don’t worry about it. I returned the reel. If they. Would add a couple more threads I’d go back to the store and buy. The reel seat just should be an excuse for two turns on the threads. Man I posted my comment a long time ago.

    I have about a 10 year old Avet reel and I take it apart once a year and clean it. It still runs smoooth! but it does make a little noise in free spool. I'll send it in to replace the bearings, etc. That's quite the operation they have there.
