  • Hey Beauties!
    Super glad I can share a new routine that I've been doing for the past 3 months that has seriously ENHANCED my journey and put me onto another level! These waves are real!! Not only do I have less shedding but lil to no tangles, single strand knots, my hair is growing and staying even more hydrated for longer. I owe it all to the Hair Guru "Wolfgang Lisborg" yes that's his real name :) I would love for yall to check out his instagram & facebook (sadly he doesn't have a youtube channel yet!)

    About Me;
    Natural Since January 2014
    Born and raised in Canada
    Parents from Jamaica
    Hair: Majority is High Porosity, crown and hairline is low porosity and super frizzy! The front curls are loose like an "S", the hairline and back are tighter like bolt screws ;) My hair is super fragile, it will break easy, I use a lot of natural products that have protein. I can never let my hair go dry or it will break.

    This was fantastic TY! I am definitely gonna do this as I love to wet my hair in the shower daily for coils and I thought I stayed a long time BUT I like the length of time you are staying in there long enough to get Maximum penetration and detangling to get it in each strand thoroughly! I'm on it. Some ppl will stay just long enough to wet their hair only to use a product like shampoo, cond., never to use the actual darn water and then go run to an artificial moisturizer, and I get it we're product junkies. But now they wanna complain their water bill gonna be too high, huh?? Like your hair product bill for 4 bottles of Mane Choice, Mielle Organics and wigs wasn't higher than a $75 water bill.

  • @amarie1852
    @amarie1852 5 років тому +85

    I’m gonna assume that your hair regimen got simpler as your hair started retaining moisture and became more manageable/ less frizzy??? Is that correct?
    Is this a routine you would’ve been able to do a few years ago when you first started your natural hair journey??

      Alex Burgess yhh i agree

    • @NekiCakes
      @NekiCakes  5 років тому +32

      Alex Burgess my hair regimen got simple when I was able to discover what my hair finally wanted, what ingredients actually was meant to be for me, when the breakage and excessive shedding stopped and I remained consistent.
      Yes, this is a routine I definitely could’ve done at the start..just simply knowing how to throughly detangle and feed the hair with water would’ve made a big change.

    Neki Cakes My hair is 4a/3c my hair has a problem staying hydrated.😩 It gets so dry & frizzy! I tried this routine I used a Wide tooth comb, Denman brush and then a fine tooth comb very little shedding, which was amazing. But...My hair started to get straight & poofy, but not frizzy it was weird,no curls, no waves,. It reminded me of a blow out or a flat iron that started to revert anyway, When I put product in my hair it was type 3c ALL OVER I was mind blown! It stayed hydrated for 3 days using Chebe, oils and my Leave in. I tried this method twice with the same results. Am I doing something wrong? I want waves in the shower not puffy straight, lol. I really don't mind the loose texture because it's more manageable then the mix texture. Thanks again for all of your tips!😘💕💕💕

    Gorgeous. Question, how do you keep your hair from getting hydra fatigued?

    • @bre6651
      @bre6651 5 років тому +31

      She said she only does it every 7 days Hydra fatigue only happens when your wettung your hair constantly and on top of that using "moisturizing products" almost daily. Is really hard to get hydro fatigue considering the fact that when you go outside the air and environment in your home could be drying, along with your pillows, clothes/sheet fabrics. That's not even including the fact that a lot of people, even in the United States, have hard water...

    • @bre6651

    • @tripleplay30dw
      @tripleplay30dw 5 років тому +7

      I may be wrong but since shes only doing it weekly, shes not over hydrating. Black hair needs soooo much moisture, I think that that's a safe amount of time in between. If she were committing to every 2 days she may have an issue.

    Your hair looks great! Question: Do you use a water filter or softening system for your shower water?

      Thank you xo! Yes I have a water filter

      Neki Cakes Thanks for the reply! I’ve been thinking about buying one for a while, but I didn’t know if there would be any real benefit from it. How long have you had yours and what differences do you notice since you started washing your hair with filtered water?

    • @NekiCakes
      @NekiCakes  5 років тому

      Victoria Blount No problem. I’ve had it for about 3 months. Where I am the water is Extremely harsh so washing my hair with it is a no no. Prior to the filter I use bottled water to wash my hair because I refuse to have that junk in my hair. so having a filter makes a big difference. Money well spent.

    This is such a request but I went on Wolfgang’s ig and it’s really cool but he doesn’t concisely explain his method. Could you do a more in depth video explaining his ways on here? Or convince him to start a UA-cam lol.

    Did you see results right away after doing this? I just started today and my hair instantly swells while still in the shower water. I’m wondering if I just need to give it some time.

    • @NekiCakes
      @NekiCakes  3 роки тому +2

      I wouldn't say it changes your texture, it's just detangling and getting the hairs in order, so with that the hair will have the waves or curls its suppose to (depending on curl pattern). I don't do it daily especially with having fine hair, I did this weekly/biweekly

    Hi, beautiful hair...my question is, with the amount of time you have your hair in the water/shower detangling, aren’t you afraid to causing your hair to get hydro-fatigued or Moisture overload? I had that years ago and it’s so hard to get rid of

  • @bluepineapples3392
    @bluepineapples3392 5 років тому +3

    In the shower I have a hard time detangling because my hair doesn’t absorb the water well. It doesn’t fall and become dripping wet like yours, but it stays curled up and shrunk. What can I do?

    • @sbabywhine
      @sbabywhine 5 років тому

      I would suggest washing with hot water so your cuticles open and allow water to oass through.

    • @Lulumajorca
      @Lulumajorca 5 років тому +1

      Blue Pineapples Do you use a lot of oils on your hair? I used to think I had low porosity hair but in actuality I was just overdoing it with the oils, which aren't water soluble, and water would just slip of the top of my head.

    • @427skies
      @427skies 5 років тому +1

      @Tay Tay Not when you have low porosity hair. Warm to hot water opens up the cuticles in order for moisture to get in.

    • @427skies
      @427skies 5 років тому +2

      @Tay Tay Funny how you're gonna tell me...but okay. LOL. You can wash your hair with "lukewarm" water. 🤷🏾‍♀️

    • @sbabywhine
      @sbabywhine 5 років тому +2

      @Tay Tay then put on lotion lol. The sulfates in body washes and hair products are waaaayyyy more drying.
      Hair will not allow moisture to penetrate if the cuticale is not lifted. Look up porosity. Heat lifts them momentarily, cool water closes them. It's science...... maybe look it up? If your cuticle is not lifted and you slap on mosture you're wating your time.

    • @nnaturalheaven3754
      @nnaturalheaven3754 4 роки тому

      Mines used to be like that even when I shampooed, till I found out it needed detoxing. I had to stop using my non-sulfate shampoo and actually "clean my strands" from ingredients. Use a clay or sulfate shampoo to get rid of build-up even natural products can have build up as the layering causes that fro that wont lay down. You can always add moisture bk with the water, aloe, nutritive ayurvedic herbs and teas and oils for lubrication.
