END OF BEGINNING LYRICS:
Just one more tear to cry
One teardrop from my eye
You better save it for
The middle of the night
When things aren’t black and white
Enter, Troubadour:
“Remember 24?”
And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
This song has started now
And you're just finding out
Now isn’t that a laugh?
A major sacrifice but clueless at the time
Enter, Caroline:
“Just trust me you’ll be fine”
And when I’m back in Chicago I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the
And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye

this song sounds like the end of a life changing summer
Exactly!!
it is
You put my emotions really well into words
thats exactly what I thought
2016
Im in love with the " and when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it" part it’s so good
Yes, Remembered me about some kind of similar part in The Roxette's song
Nostalgic eh
When Djo says "I feel it," I felt that
realll
The only part people remember just like Steve lacy
"A major sacrifice, but clueless at the time" always hit me, so much meaning
truly
This is one of those songs that makes you slowly stop whatever you're doing to reminisce on some of the most significant moments of your life.
"Trust me you'll be fine" is such a great line. I feel like im talking to my past, my present, and my future selves all at once.
You'll be fine if you make it so, nobody is going to do it for you. That requires a lot of effort and productive suffering

@@muthuselvir315it’s a colloquialism that’s been around for ages.
Like, ‘You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.”

Also applies to the melancholy of missing the vibe of the place that helped shape you and what you love.❤️

Around one month ago I was in Chicago - and the US in general - for the first time in my life. Eleven wonderful and beautiful days in which I fell in love not only with the city but also a special person, now girlfriend, I was visiting. My heart indeed stays in that city even with me being all the way back over the great lake in Germany. Then I started to notice this song being played often in the radio and it makes me nostalgic for the best vacation I ever had.
I love you, Aer.

I lived in Illinois for my early years of my youth before moving to Illinois. I was already aclimated to my life there as a kid. But one day my family moved over to California for my Mom's side of the family and have lived there since. I'm 25 now.
This song makes me think about how different my life would be if I had stayed in Illinois somehow. I was really close with my cousins there before I left. But when I visit once a year or two, it just doesn't feel the same.
