Honestly with the amount of problems Hypixel has created for the community, and the fact that the don't do anything about makes me want to side with rice. Its sad that it has gotten to a point where someone has to try and force the staff's hand to deal with the problem, and even then they don't.
I actually think this is probably a good thing. Maybe not the best way to go about it, but I think it might certainly get to a point where staff actually do something significant to stop the rampant botting that is already here and has been for a while. Especially duels. It's actually surprising just how neglected staff moderation is for duels. You will find yourself running into more bots than actually people on certain gamemodes with bots reaching incredibly high leaderboard positions. Found a guy botting on sumo for a bit that just so happened to be number 24 or higher in duels OVERALL. It's ridiculous, and its time for them to actually do something to stop the rampant botting in its entirety. It's not that hard to notice whether a player is a bot or a human.
I am pretty sure sunsi was banned, as according to plancke, a hypixel stats tracker the bot is not online on the server and the bot's last login was earlier today.
i hope that people recode and make this bot even better so bedwars is filled with these bots and hypixel is gonna have finally do something and patch botting

tbh wasnt a big fan of rice because i personally felt he wasnt legit in the pit (taking handouts, botting, irl buying, cheats), but i think sunsi was impressive and given his recent history with hypixel and how he quit as a result, it's completely fair what he did. hopefully hypixel takes it as a warning, but tbh expectations are low. their funding doesnt come from bedwars, mostly skyblock, so i doubt they'll put in too many resources into fixing the problem. the server is already filled with cheaters, what harm is a few bots.

The thing with him releasing the code of the bot what i never realized was that i ran into someone using the bot on hypixel bedwars but it was more advanced than sunsi was, this bot could actually combo and have good tracking and i would die tons of times before i realized it was a bot because the tracking snd turning was a bit floppy and a bit flicky and sus when i spectated the bot.
they dont play the game, the bot only buys golems, and he doesnt care where it goes and he forgot about it, so he didnt have joy. He may of had some when it worked in less then 1k lines of code because thats impressive

Hypixel will only care the second it touches their pockets, which is when a lot of non accounts start appearing on the leaderboard, they'll be forced to choose between a better staff team or a no funds server. Now, i know they have enough money to keep the server running for a year or so with no one buying stuff since ranks is not the only way they gather it, but eventually, it'll catch up to them and they'll have to make a decision or let the server finally rest.
Too be fair patching bots is not easy, the admins are more locked in on making skyblock updates these days, and botting has certainly been stomped on the Skyblock server. Patching bots on a competitive game is less easy, especially when your dealing with Minecraft. Its not like you can randomly teleport someone to a captcha mid game unlike in Skyblock.
hypixel has been full of bots for the last year anyway, they still havent patched baritone and other path finding mods so people just pair those with clients like vape and rise

Hello. i am one of the developers of one of the BW bots. I can say that my bot just bots dreams and only farms stars (faster than rice's) (about 9 star per day) and rice's bot farms both wlr and stars.
I don't know why everyone expects hypixel to be able to prevent that. That would be almost undetectable since they act like a normal player, and they had no reason to ever suspect the account. There was nothing hypixel could or should have done. They would only be able to find possibly suspicious activity upon manual review, and there was almost no reason to review it from hypixel's perspective.
tbh i think it is almost impossible to patch this cuz if they somehow make a check for this it would cause a ton of false bans because for example speed you can make a check that checks if the player is moving more fast than normal but for bots it would have to be staff
