Have a built out 170 4X4 here and that fuel tank is a must have as much as I travel around into BC from Washington. Van Compass, Van Compass, Van Compass, Van Compass!!! I can't say it enough! If it's the 1st thing you do on these you CANNOT go wrong! I put it off for the 1st 1.5 years and then we had some great winds here in Washington and like John said, my "wind assist" triggered. Holy $#!& that is NOTHING you thought you'd ever, or ever want to experience. It's terrifying and I've only ever driven lifted trucks since the 90's! Do it and just tell your wife or partner you lost that $$$ in a poker match. 😆 As far as a RenTech....don't even bother looking for DEF in mine, it doesn't exist. 🙄He isn't lying folks, all of these are great additions, some just take a little longer to acquire than others.
Say Uncle Tony, I still use a 1950 style glass bowl gas filter on all my classic cars and a straight gas filter for my 1968 Mustang GT… since the early 70’s to now 2023. I never had any problems. Just changed the filter once in awhile as needed.😊😊😊
Tires tires tires!! The stock sprinter tires are junk/a hazard in wet, snowy, sandy conditions. Bfg k02's made the biggest difference to driveabiliry of my van👌🏽
We have a 2WD 2016 2500 Sprinter that we take down all sorts of roads. The suspension was horrible…upgraded that and it raised the van a couple to,three inches. Wheels and tires…upgraded that. Under hood air compressor with quick deflate stems on KO2’s…upgraded them. The sound system in a 2016 was horrible…upgraded that. Rear tire carrier…upgraded that. We love them all and so would each of you (who occasionally need to use a power washer to clean your rig when you get back home.)
Excellent info, thank you! I hit a huge camouflaged rock on a dirt the road with my Range Rover, lost all my differential fluid! (cracked a ring around the nut in the center) Thank God for a helpful mechanic in El Paso, his weld patch is still holding after 3 years! The year before that I clogged my carbon canister filter from getting in that slimy clay out west (caliche). Is there a guard for that awful stuff and how do real baha-ers avoid it?
& I believe we shared he coastal Marin peninsula during the resent few weeks..Tobys & Palace Mkt. Your the best presenter.over the Tube. Your bright, articulate & cover the aspects with straight forward gusto🎈 My camper is Tug, shaker can painted in green- white- red..a bit of a head turner!
New Subscriber here. Thank you for this great information! I am taking the plunge this week with a brand new Tranquility 4x4!! I will be in touch!! BTW, do you guys do the install as well?
Congratulations on joining the adventure van community, you’re going to love it! We are a full service operation. Feel free to call our staff with any questions and yes we install. Simply select “install” when checking out on the website.
I don't go off road like this either. I was told that, at the very least, I should upgrade my tires to the BFG K03s since I live in a region that gets snow.
If you have the J51 update from Mercedes (free) then the fual gauge will be accurate. The miles to empty will not. We usually just hit the trip meter when we fill up and that gives you a good idea of miles to empty
@owlvansengineering so technically, if my fuel gauge is halfway empty, I need to double the usual mileage that I was getting on the 23 gallon tank. Sounds right? There are no issues in the long term of having this tank installed so far??
@@wallyklejka5754 Fuel guage will be accurate. The mile to empty will be incorrect. I use the trip meter. For simplicity if I am getting 10mpg and I have a 40gal tank, I know I have roughly 400 miles of range.
Yes but why would you want to have to use a transfer tank and refill your factory tank? Much easier to just get one larger tank. Also the tanks that go in the space wheel well are steel and have led to rust problems in the engine.
Well I like the uppgrades but when its 30-50 below the tanks has to be insulate and all the fluids and Electric will go to hell eaven Light will go If it is not hot it will be covered by snow and ice.
-47G tank ✅
-Espar Heater ✅
-6.3 VC✅
-Renntech (large tires)✅
-35” tires/ wheels✅
-Renntech performance (down the road)
-Storage (down the road)
-Diff skid plate (down the road)
👍😊
Owl has definitely earned my business. I am looking forward to all these upgrades.
🙏🏻

I need something like this for my drone operations. Lift kit, 4x4, heat, a/c, internal power for pc, monitors, battery chargers, starlink, etc.
I’d love to go camping with him

I believe Rhodes vans In Cornwall are they’re European distributors 🤔.👍
Any of this available in Australia.
Were you up near Moab yesterday (11/14/2022)? I passed a Revel that looked like it might have been you.
We wish! This was a couple months ago
@@owloffroad Ah, okay. There's a twin to your Revel out there! Lol

Do I need all these if I don’t go off road ? I don’t have a 4x4 .

Now it would be great if you could put a 100 gallon of fuel then that would be awesome and that back storage be taller then that
Thank you
other key upgrades. Horn, Brakes.
How about just put in Evictus suspension
That 47 gallon fuel tank is showing the range of miles accurately? Also, all install has similar bolt patterns, sensors from the OEM?
Thanks

Ugh upgrades that’s crazy should come standard now days ugh
Owl Team!! Waiting on your release of your owl rook rack!!! Please tell me that’s on it way!!!
Trying desperately. We are moving to a much large facility where we will finally have room to start producing them
Great to hear John!
I used 33.7 aluminium scaffolding poles and connector’s on mine total cost plus painting was about £300.00 bucks.👍
More/new suspension even if get a 2 wheel drive one?
Can't you put a additional tank where the spare was? water/gas, ect?
Never mind I answered my question they have 37 gallon tanks, not bad.
Yes but why would you want to have to use a transfer tank and refill your factory tank? Much easier to just get one larger tank. Also the tanks that go in the space wheel well are steel and have led to rust problems in the engine.
with a diff skid plate would it be safe to jack the rear there?
Yes
Costs??
what is the roof rack on top?
That’s ours. We are releasing it in January
How bout- 'more awsome'. My 2001 Sportsmobile 7.2 diesel PowerStrokeV8 carries two tanks each at 31 gallons.
can I buy this? and no not a regular revel but can you please sell me your ultimate owl revel?!
Sorry, not for sale, love this van
I would like that shirt?
That’s from last years Revel Van Rally

Nope, it’s not a word.
Anyone know if there is a tune available for the newer gas engine sprinter?
Davis Ronald Harris Jose Martin John
....jacking up a car on a differential is arguably the dumbest thing ive heard working on cars my entire life.
Replacing a 42 gallon fuel tank with a 45 gallon one (7% increase) what an "amazing" achievement for a lot of money! ;-)
It's a 24 gallon fuel tank stock. So it is almost double the stock volume
Yes. The Sprinter has 24 gallon gas tank
Yes. 24gallons standard fuel tank.
24 😞 47 😃
Looks like your listening skills need work. He DOUBLED his fuel capacity.
Ameeeericans.....🤣🤣🤣
Sprinter, ford van they look the same. I think you just pay more for the MBZ badge.
