I feel amorims back 3 in build-up is to rigid, a player in that back 3 should carry the ball more, because this leaves only a double pivot in the midfield, meaning players from the forward line have to keep dropping back to get on the ball and when they do that there is hardly anyone in front. You can see this at 1:35
Good points. From what I have seen a 10 dropping off the top line is what he wants. Not saying it's right. Time will tell. But I definitely agree that the back 3 should be looking to carry the ball out. Cheers
lol you miss no chance on giving the Bruno the stick. Ur right tho I notice hojlund has changed in character and it’s not for the better. I do notice United don’t look for through balls to the forward, is it a trust issue with his capabilities or our tens just lack the vision and ability(it was the same under ETH). Personally I think m amad at LWB long term and get a technically gifted 10 (dribble quick feet pace composure). Ineos messed up with the Bruno contract he’s needed now but not pass two season max. Great analysis again man 👍🏾

I have faith in hojlund but his holdup/linkup play and ball controls is killing us when we need him and I development those wont come over time and that’s if he even can develop those areas of his game, without those he just won’t work in this system
Amazing Analysis. Poor of the ball movements, once ball is passed played feels they are done and will walk and there is no intent to receive it by occupying vacant spaces. Very good analysis about Bruno Fernandes. He is a senior experienced player. Gives the ball away too easily, will tell everyone what to do, but himself is clueless most of the times, always whining with teammates as is any missed pass to him would be a sureshot goal. During ETH times he used to give away the ball to easily, did not knownwhen to pace up or slow down the game and his mistakes used to lead to counter attacks leading to goals. Amorim has kept him in controll and you don't see the unwanted long passes which make team lose possession. But then other weakness remain. People may argue that even KDB or other midfielder lose ball. But they need to understand those midfielders are consistent and their assists lead to goals. They don't give ball easily it's only when they try to attack in the final third where they have tk take chances to create goal scoring opportunities and defenders are always ready unlike when Bruno loses the ball. Hojlund or any striker at Manchester United don't get the support of midfielders. When they create one on one opportunities, the midfielder have to just pass the ball to him which they don't and when they pass, there are atleast 2 defenders which make it difficult for them to beat. Yes hojland has started whining like Bruno Fernandes. He shldnuse his frustration to make himself better. Overall players are very slow to understand space creation and dragging players out with intention of creating spaces even though they are aware the passes may not come. At this level of play we need players to be smart enough understand this. A manager may guide but the finally it's the players who need to execute. Besides Bruno, Dalot is another player who is underperforming. He is never an attacking threat hence he is often left unmarked. Even when he receive the ball unmarked, opposition is never worked as they are aware he is not a threat. Keeping him a left back for a right footed makes things worse. Good decision by Amorim on Rashford. He was never contributing. Manchester United have settled for mediocrity and rather than have consistently brilliant plays, once in a while good moves are celebrated and make the player great. Bruno, Rashford and Garnacho fit in this. Garnacho is still young and should keep ego aside and listen to his manager. Have Ronaldo as an idol is good, but for him he still has a tough road from being good to great. Unless he has few season of consistently brilliant performance, he will never reach the heights of football greats.
You make some valid points. I believe Dalot will improve, though he might not be perfect right now. We definitely need to look for a left-back in January, and rotating him with Mazraoui could help both players perform better.
Great video… Amorim has changed us in so many places and is making us a better footballing side… glad atkeast one of the UA-camrs and even from the tv pundits have said this. And we defn are lacking in the final third and it’s not so much as the bad player issue as much it is of players not linking up properly or not thinking on the same level… that will come with practice and as Amorim said they have had only four training sessions… The players, imho, are doing a great job in completely changing the way they play, more technical players or better players are always welcome in any club. But we aren’t the finished article yet in Amorim’s vision, at some point things will click and then we see… And importantly we aren’t that soft belly midfield and most of the times goal keeping or individual errors have done us in, they will also be resolved
Once Onana is gone at the end of the season, and we have proper wingbacks and maybe another CB I think Amorim's system will shine. You can already see how much better the tactics are, despite the poor results and individual mistakes.
Nice video but I don't fully agree about Bruno. He does seem petulant and whiney on the one hand but on the other nobody runs more for the team and he also seems popular among the players: I understand his ability to speak Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and English makes him a bit of a hub that brings different parts of the squad together. I've always given him the benefit of the doubt and put his theatrics down to a Latin temperament and trying to have high standards rather than an attempt to deflect criticism and blame others especially given he can be quite a generous teammate in other ways (In a recent game he was pointed in his attempt to create a goal for a struggling Zirkzee and has often given penalties to other players in need of a goal). I understand your frustration at his lack of tactical discipline and the whining and complaining is a bad look but I think it comes from temperament rather than poor character.
