Had fun with this quiz actually got 26/30 some things do stick in your mind even after 5 or 6 decades since last viewed, the catchy phrase, picture or music cementing them in your mind 😊
29, I couldn't remember the Crunchie advert I guessed Aero. Great quiz, brought back some happy memories. Thanks for sharing. Can't beat the Shake n Vac jingle
As a young kid of 9/10 during the sweltering hot summer of 1976 a local newsagent used to help me increase my meagre pocket money by helping out in the shop, just little things like getting stock from the stock room, sweeping the floor or other little things like that. He'd also treat me to free sweets, chocolates, crisps etc. One thing I'll never forget was going into the back room one day and seeing old advertising boards featuring ice lollies with recognisable names such as Lord Snooty. Those were heavenly memories. Can you please do a video of crisps sometime soon, particularly Tudor crisps (especially weird flavours like chocolate flavour crisps) I have a vested interest as I worked for them and discovered the chocolate flavouring in the test lab one day (it wasn't nice at all)
Great trip down TV commercial memory lane. I remember most of them bar the Jewson one, probably because they never have them in the Channel Islands. Thank you for the upload!
Ahh thank you so much for this I actually scored 28 there was a couple in there that I didn't recognise but it was so good going back to my youth loved it ❤❤ Thank you once again would love it if you could do some more like this 👍❤
Cadbury's have always had great ads. Remember Terrry Scott for Curly Wurly, or the Creme Egg kid? The current Acts Of Kindness series is so cheesy I ought to hate it but somehow I don't.
I'd forgotten the Jewson ad The truck had a Klargester septic tank on the back I worked for a rival builders merchant and Jewsons used to buy them from us !!
Hi, I recognised most of these but I only got about half of them right. Gosh I feel old... and forgetful lol. It seems to me from watching this that ads were more seductive in the past and not as "in yer face" as they are now (or maybe that's just me getting old)
I vaguely remembered the character which was the logo (inside a circle of golden dots) before being taken over by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation with its now coloured triangles.
Scored 19/30. Question is if you did the same with todays ads, i don’t think I would get 1/30. We are to over saturated with ads to take notice of them. companies should take note in the old saying, less is more.
Today’s adverts are awful. Boring, annoying, lacking in intelligence and imagination. Don’t think there’s any I’ll look back on fondly in years to come, unlike these ads from when I was young!
Only got 19/30. Disappointed in myself lol. There were a couple that I really should have got, especially the Vitalite one! A few of them seemed like they were from the 70's which is before my time.
I don't remember #5 Dime Bar .. or #10 Budweiser .. or #14 Vitalite .. or #20 Birdseye Steakhouse Grills .. or #24 Jewson .. so that's 25/30 I do, however very much remember #8 British Telecom ''You got an ology !'' and #16 Campari ''Luton Airport !''
Remember them all except for Jewson. Some of these ads were a cultural phenomenon - strange how no one below a certain age knows anything about them now. Fun video
Hardly recognised any of them: can't have watched much TV. These days I record any programmes with ads in so I can just fast forward though them when watching. Don't the advertisers realise people do this?!
Was to lazy to count but think I got over half. Might have too young for some of them. Got to love the Harry Enfield Dime bar adverts " I likes armadillos"
Yer the tango advert, some chap tried this on my wife to be, when I finished with him he was a raspberry ripple advert, took me three days to get him but I did.
I did okay, i said Fanta instead of Tango doah 🤦🏻♂️ , i had never seen the Jamie Oliver Sainsbury’s ad & i forgot the Jewson but remember it well. I got all the others.
Got most of them. Not the bank one or sainsburys.or lemonade. A couple of the chocolate ones as well. Crunchie i think. Some were obvious from first second, like smiths crisps, steakhouse grills, tetley.
@@andysitton1703 I just told my boyfriend that I got a slagging for not knowing some lemonade ad. He immediately broke into a song and dance which was very Elvis like. And I still didn't recognise it! We sing the steakhouse grills song quite frequently. One of us will spontaneously shout 'will it be chips or jacket spuds' then the other will shout back 'will it be salad or frozen peas' ect. You get the idea. Sad really, but it rarely fails to amuse us!
True story: I was nearly the Milkybar Kid. In the mid-80s my dad was a GP and one of his patients worked in casting. They saw a picture of me on his desk and told him I had exactly the right look to be the Milkybar Kid. My dad asked me, and I said no way. I was savvy enough to know what the other kids would do to me at school if I was on TV, and if I was in an ad it would be on all the time. Don’t regret my decision.
Yeah, I've got a mate who looked like the Milky Bar kid. He couldn't shake that nickname for bloody years! Even as an adult 30 years later, he still gets called it every now and then! Also, remember what happened the that kid from the Frosties adverts? People hated him so much he literally got death threats! You made the right decision lol
Wow, suprised you done so well, there is a part 2 and 3 on the channel too, also an 80's TV Characters quiz you might be good at too if you knew the adverts.
The adverts were fun and original unlike the rubbish ones we get today;it's all woke. Best advert now: Trade Centre....makes you look up because there is no cacophony !
The Hamlet advert has got to be a classic. Who didn't remember that advert. Absolutely brilliant.
When everything could go wrong to one person at anytime 😂
I used to love that advert, i also like Gregor Fisher
Yeah good old Rab C Nesbitt a classic
Armadillos... Still quote it to this day. And whenever Desmond Dekker comes on the radio, I still sing Vitalite.
Got 25 of them. Much more memorable ads back then than now! At least you knew what they were advertising…..
This took me back, loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it, Thanks for feedback, much appreciated!!! Did you get them all?
Huge props to anyone who managed to get 30/30
I knew all of them!
Most of them took me back to my youth. Great adverts much better than todays.

Oh... wonderful. Thanks for this. You see...you can go back in time.
Glad you enjoyed it, any other nostalgic quiz ideas for us?
@@TeaTimeQuiz Children's programmes from previous decades perhaps...or popular toys?😃
By Eck! That took me back. Great quiz. I dropped only 3. Excusable to mix up the chops in One of them, I was thinking Black Magic but no.
The Budweiser ad was a real pain !
Oh thank you took me back to happy days got 25 loved the coffee ad every one watched to see if they would get together
Great trip down TV commercial memory lane. I remember most of them bar the Jewson one, probably because they never have them in the Channel Islands. Thank you for the upload!
I really enjoyed this, took me right back. I enjoyed it so much I sent it to my brother and sister. Retro family challenge 😂 I only missed 2 👍
25 great job the adverts much better back then for sure, Ty for the memories
Glad you enjoyed it, Part 3 just uploaded now, and getting harder!
When the adverts were as good as the TV
Ahh thank you so much for this I actually scored 28 there was a couple in there that I didn't recognise but it was so good going back to my youth loved it ❤❤
Thank you once again would love it if you could do some more like this 👍❤
Thanks Clare, Nice to hear you enjoyed it, It's good to know! Now we know we will try and do more like this.
Same here
28/30 missed Guinness and one other. Thank you for a trip down memory lane.
16/30 very nostalgic, thanks very much for the quiz 👍👍😁
Cadbury's have always had great ads. Remember Terrry Scott for Curly Wurly, or the Creme Egg kid? The current Acts Of Kindness series is so cheesy I ought to hate it but somehow I don't.
I remember 29 of them but only remembered 27 of what they were advertising.
I'd forgotten the Jewson ad

24 ,should have got 2 others, great memories .Thank you
Is it bad that I was singing along😊😂😂😂27/30
4:44. The makers of Family Guy should be paying Tetley Tea royalties as Peter Griffin is the spit of the gaffer 😂
Midland Bank caught me out

Got 29 out of 30! It was that bloody sainsbury’s that foxed me! I forgot that prick (with a fork!) did an advert?!
Loved this xxxxxx . I scored 29. 😆

I do, however very much remember #8 British Telecom ''You got an ology !''
and #16 Campari ''Luton Airport !''
24/30 for me. I was convinced that the Campari one was an advert for Luton Airport 😂
Fancy me forgetting the NESCAFE GOLD BLEND AD.....THEY DID A WHOLE SERIES OF THAT WOMAN AND THAT BLOKE....LOL !!!!!!
Sharon Mughan (Main Chance) and Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampir Slayer).
I got 21 not bad I was a kid in the 70 s my favourite s was the smash and pg tips adverts they dont make them like that nowadays
Well done Tracy, you right they are pure gold! part 3 just uploaded and it's harder.
I didn't count how many I got. I certainly didn't get them all but it was a fun trip down memory lane.
Remember them all except for Jewson. Some of these ads were a cultural phenomenon - strange how no one below a certain age knows anything about them now. Fun video
Just scored 20/30. Thanks for the memories xx
Me too. you were born in the 80s?
Hardly recognised any of them: can't have watched much TV. These days I record any programmes with ads in so I can just fast forward though them when watching. Don't the advertisers realise people do this?!
When ads were entertaining!
R WHITES lemonade ad was one of the best, i seem to think it was sung or written (or both) ? By Elvis Costelos dad?
Brilliant - subscribed - 28
25/30 I'm not sure if that means I have a great memory, or if I'm just completely tragic.
Let's go with the first option.
😆
How can u not have carling black label add
Or hemling light lager my dad used to drink before carling
Yes, they did a great spoof of the Milk Tray ad too
Guinness got me, thought it was gonba be aftershave like old spice 🫣
Knew most of the songs word for word.
Was to lazy to count but think I got over half. Might have too young for some of them. Got to love the Harry Enfield Dime bar adverts " I likes armadillos"
27/30 Didn't get Smiths Crisps. I grow up in Leicester, we had Walkers.
Bostin quiz stu...i did quite well and enjoyed that one.
Lost count.😂... Very good Thankyou...👍

@@TeaTimeQuiz Thanks i will look it up💯
Yer the tango advert, some chap tried this on my wife to be, when I finished with him he was a raspberry ripple advert, took me three days to get him but I did.
30/30, I should be proud.. I'm not.. but I should be
I am immune to sublime messages but must rush out and buy Chocolate.
And some powder to throw on the carpet which will be a balls ache to Hoover up.
LOL, part 2 coming soon and you will want to bath and smell like a surfer, mind you, you will need to after all that hoovering.

Forgot 4 of them
Got most of them. Not the bank one or sainsburys.or lemonade. A couple of the chocolate ones as well. Crunchie i think. Some were obvious from first second, like smiths crisps, steakhouse grills, tetley.
I'm surprised that someone who got "we hope it's chips it's chips" immediately didn't get "secret lemonade drinker"... it's a classic.

The lemonade one got me wondering, what were the fizzy drinks called, they were delivered, and you had a deposit on the bottle?
Barr, tizer are the ones I remember
I lived in Birmingham in the 70’s , we had Alpine pop delivered.
Corona you mean? Lemon and lime was by far the best :-) .
Alpine
