- Peel Police say a man is dead after he was found with gunshot wounds in a vehicle outside a Brampton home just before 7:30am. Michelle Mackey is speaking with residents and investigators.

OMFG! I used to live 4 blocks from there. Glad I got out of that city when I did. I live there for 20 years and the crime just got worse and worse. I can’t turn on the news now without hearing about Brampton. It’s a beautiful city but the crime is definitely rising there.

It's not just the offenders that need to take accountability the system needs to do better. The source of these problems often comes from the very place meant for discipline: jail. There are no follow-ups or mandatory rehabilitation programs to help inmates reintegrate into society and become productive citizens. In some cases, nonviolent individuals are housed with violent offenders and are bullied and significantly assaulted. With no options, they may turn to violence and become hardened. You can't let people like that just jump back into society without some intervention and monitoring, its critical, or why call it corrections?
