He has an extraordinary voice and a great technique! Just love the tone and vibrato of his high baritone tenor voice!

Couldn't take my eyes off him the ENTIRE time I was watching this show.
I'd never seen Evita before 2 days ago. I'd never heard of Josh Young...but DAMN, he commanded that stage from the first time he walked on and didn't let it go until the play ended. I enjoyed the rest of the cast, but a part of my mind was ALWAYS wondering what Che was up to during any given scene, especially since he spent so much time on stage just watching everyone else.

Caitlyn Conboy I feel just like you. I am sure Josh is on his way to becoming one of the biggest stars there is. I also want to see his new show that opens in Chicago on Oct.9th. "Amazing Grace". That star turn should make him a household name.

MrRichDavid Well...A Broadway name at least :)
Households in general don't know names of actors who appear in musicals. Ask a regular guy off the street who Idina Menzel is and he'd probably have more of a reaction if you called her "Adele Dazeem"

I LOVE this staging for the opening. It's so beautiful and chilling. I love that the show starts with the end of her life, it really shows right away the immense love of her Descamisados. The funeral footage is BEAUTIFUL and everything about this staging gives me chills.

I think this is a brilliant staging of this number. When the orchestra swells and the curtains move to the side to showcase the headline EVA PERON DIES literally brought chills up my spine. Perfectly timed and the newsreel footage is clear, unlike previous versions where the footage was small, and fuzzy. I would love to see this version and hope it comes to Toronto one day.

8:55 to 9:55 continues to be my favorite moment from any musical that I have seen. This tour was my first time watching the show so I didn't know what was happening at first but as each woman walked away and line by line the singing voices disappeared until there was only one left, and then the final woman there slowly pulled the hood off her head, my heart absolutely stopped. I knew it was Eva. I knew it was Caroline Bowman. And a feeling of excitement and adoration immortalized itself in me then like falling in love or seeing the world for the first time and just simply knowing that there is so much more in store just around the corner. Like... wow. I will never, ever forget that feeling. Every time I hear that part of the song I remember and it's a magic I can't describe. Thank you for posting this so I may relive it over and over ❤ Now if only they would just film this ridiculously amazing cast... I would pay BIG money for something like that, that's for sure!

Thank you so much for posting this. I've seen this Evita road tour 7 times. It should be filmed or recorded. Much has to do with the three stars Josh, Caroline and Sean. All first class, loaded with talent and good looks.

I saw this production on tour and enjoyed it very much. Josh Young has a charisma on stage that does not translate through this video. I would see anything with him in it.

I love josh young, so handsome and a great voice, but Mandy can't be beat as Che. Saw it in previews and he was all over the stage with unbelievable movement and intensity. It was his show then. My partner went back 6 months later and said lupone had grown into her part. Of course, the rest is history. But Hal prince's staging can't be beat. The coffin on stage with the lighting from underneath and whoever taught patinkin how to command a stage. Though I do like the videos of the enormity of her public funeral.

This opening is more effective than the original but only thanks to the great use of projections. The original had projections too but they were often washed out by the stage lighting. Clearly the technology exists now for such large and clear images.

I disagree. The original staging is superior, the projections notwithstanding. In here, the cast don't do much except slow dance on occasion. In the original, they actually had a coffin/effigy of Evita, and the ensemble would form lines as they filed past her coffin. Toward the end of the song, the company closed the lid on the coffin, held it up, and slowly walked off into the wings, while the rest followed behind, except for Eva and Che, who remained on stage. That was more theatrical than this, which is basically people singing to archival footage.

The thing i love in this number compared to the original is that no one is reacting to Che when he starts to sing the hard rock section of the number. It like no one is listening to him because he is a spirit unlike everyone reacting to him in the original. I feel that he being the only one who is in limbo trying to tell everyone that Eva was nothing and no one can hear him makes that section of the song much more effective.

They could've chosen better footage of the funeral. That shot of pallbearers carrying her casket into the CGT building does not show what a circus event it was. They should've shown footage of the actual procession with Eva's casket atop a gun carriage being pulled down the streets of Buenos Aires with thousands of mourners on the side.

Amazing voice! Powerful resonance and rich timbre. Is it me or did he backphrase maybe a little too much? Love when singers do that, but in moderation. Anyway, great performer and singer! 👏🏻

I think it's the arrangement. It doesn't highlight the rhythm part of the song. It just sounds dull.
