- Life has begun to imitate art for Golda Rosheuvel and India Amarteifio. The stars of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story play the title role at different stages of the royal’s life, but the two are now so close, they introduce themselves as each other in the latest episode of our One on One video franchise.
“I’m a real advocate for not holding on to this role,” says Rosheuvel, who has played Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton since it first aired in 2020. “Even though I created it - it’s not mine. Being able to give it over to India, for her to be able to really run with it and make it her own, was important.”

@@hzlkelly Who is we? Africa is a continent with many ethnic groups and cultures who all historically wear their hair uniquely. I’ve seen old black and white pictures of Africans wearing traditional clothes with “similar” hairstyles.
The pairing was amazing because they actually look so much alike and truly embodied one another in character

The lady that plays the older Queen Charlotte needs an emmy, golden globe, oscar, naacp award. Her acting skills are on par even her facial expressions, and hair and makeup are amazing. She is truly queen Charlotte.

How beautiful are they? How about the Hair, hello? Sumptuous.Charlotte was phenomenal, stellar, seamless, effortless, so mature, such presence and charisma. Golda is legend, her last scene moves me forever. Shonda is a queen herself for such eloquent and incarnated verb through out the script. There is a distinguished rhythm to every lines which allow the actors to shine and own the character.
The end scene, Golda nailed it perfectly 😭

I'm glad I watched this series, for the first time, not knowing anything. The script for India and Corey, along with their acting abilities are so captivating! They are stellar! I feel that the first two seasons were one thing, but "Queen Charlotte" is on a level that seems a bit above. It goes into this level of heart and emotion that I really feel is award worthy in a way that the other two weren't. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but this was excellence in storytelling and character development. Brava!!!

Phenomenal!!! They both are amazing and fully bodied their character...I watched Queen Charlotte w/o watching Bridgerton. It was so good I started watching Bridgerton and am now on the second season. I'm glad I watched it in that order because it made watching Bridgerton so much better for me. I understood a lot of why the Queen was the way she was and I was and am here for it.

I binged on Queen Charlotte this pass Sunday & loved it. The costumes, themes accents, the challenges faced was wonderful. I commend the crew of Queen Charlotte…writers, actors, and all who helped brought her backstory to the forefront. I adore how they emphasized the importance of marriage & how we choose to make the best out of the hand we are dealt in life. I am hooked. Now I will go & watch Bridgestone bc I ignored the hype before. Thank you for bringing Black people to the forefront of the television when history had erased our existence. Bravo!
