How can the US stop 1.4 billion brains from achieving the manufacturing chips. Stop the US can try but eventually China will triumph over the US. 😂😂😂 When China achieve that goal it will flood the market down and thereby pushing the US chips out of market. China will have the last laugh 😂😂😂

There's a lot of latent racism in the western elite. They're deeply convinced of their intellectuel, moral and technical superiority against China or russia.
They don't see the truth : they're way behind because of the decline of their education systems.
The paradox is that their peoples see the truth the elite ignore.

Not only that but by breaking up the monoply ASMLs machines will eventually have to financially compete with China's, meaning they won't be able to charge whatever they want for the machine, meaning even chips made on those machines should get cheaper too.

Before Trump launched the trade war, the route of "buying is better than making" had always been an obstacle to the development of independent chips in China.
Trump completely smashed this route and raised the importance of chip autonomy to an unprecedented height.
Up to now, most people in China (even those who have nothing to do with the chip industry) have a positive attitude towards independent chips.
Under such a consensus, I believe that any technical problems will be overcome.

the irony is that if China is totally cut off, then, they will have no choice but to depend on their own companies which meant that their own companies no matter how low tech will be given a chance to develop unhindered, for sure, they will succeed eventually because there is no competition, money is no issue at all and the most important part, all China is depending on them, so patriotic fervor will carry the day. if you look at Chinese history, this is the most important part, all the super projects from thousands of years ago happened due to this, not money or power. so, bring it on, the most recent example is the Huawei 3-fold phone, it cost a bomb, and the only innovation is 3-fold and not even the most advanced CPU but to any patriotic Chinese, it is a statement and badge of honor. as they say, the mother of invention is necessity but i say, when threaten, the impossible becomes possible.

Tiawan is part of China. 🇨🇳 China doesn’t need to invade Taiwan. They have their own lithography chip making machines now. Machines will get more sophisticated as we speak. No need for ASML or TSMC. China has few chip making companies already.

Does it occurs to the Dutch that Netherlands sovereignty will be compromised by complying with US ban ? What’s the use of producing a machine which cannot be sold ?
Since ASML is the only world maker of EUV and DUV machines, one should expect a higher level of intelligence of Netherlands Government vis-a-vis that of Germany. However, fear of being reprimanded can be so overwhelming as to dissipate self interest. No matter what the ultimate decision is, ASML will be the largest loser.

Sanctions are simply incenting China to develop their own. It is just a short-term solution with negative long term ramifications for the U.S./Netherlands. China has the background knowledge, determination to develop such products. Eventually it will catch up and possibly exceed Western tech products. It probably would have been wiser to not place any sanctions on China. It would have benefited ASML and semiconductor industry sales on ALL sides.

When you weaponize your technologies, it will backfire when others prefer not to buy any tech products containing your technologies, resulting in shrinking future sales and reduced financial ability to support more R&D.

Many common westers won't believe or recognize that lots of technical progress in modern IC & AI achieved by chinese descent or citizens employed in west high-tech companies. China mainland can finally provide well equipped research platform and sufficient fund for own tech staff (larger part of high potential youth remained in China).
