That's definitely a massive part of it. Would love to learn more about funding initiatives that the Leafs (and other teams, the NHL, etc.) are involved with
It's still 10 000 a year to sign up for rep hockey. Kids want a shot at the big league and until it's affordable for everyone minority and poor communities will never have a chance.
100% but it's also the inclusiveness for any vulnerable or under represented community.
Every POC I've met has encountered a lot of BS along the way from teammates, opponents, coaches, fans or other parents.

Justin Holl had almost made a complete fan out of me with his play this year. Then I found out he has a boxer. Pushed me over the edge lol.
Holl is just as bad at hockey as he is at boxing. Ask Nugent Hopkins about Holl’s boxing skills. As a Leafs fan at that game I cheered for Nuge on behalf of Leafs fans for kicking Holl’s ass.

Asian kids don’t count. Black first gay second indigenous third. Get in line. I use to be first but now I am 3rd . Times change . Somehow rich white men who like other men are now considered a minority and get more rights than indigenous. Is all about PR 🤷🏻♂️
That's such a can of worms. The history of the "model minority" definitely plays into the varying forms of discrimination faced by different ethnicities

Don't be that guy. The point is to be WELCOMING to people of all backgrounds. Religion is not a blanket excuse to abuse those different than you, nor condone it.
It doesn’t look like they were forced to me; looks like they were engaged in a conversation in the value of representing a community, and chose to go ahead with it bc it’s the only reasonable rational-minded person’s choice
