The craft on these is incredible! I have always thought memory of an artist was very hard to pull off in an artwork, but i think this really works because it alludes to memory in general without being overly personal and specific. The translucent, monochrome structures offers a beautiful but incomplete picture of the rooms. Very nostalgic indeed.
Love the way that these translucent, coloured structures shift associations of urban architecture away from anomie, grime, confinement and routine, to joy, engagement, belonging and opportunity. These uplifting, spring-like colors remind me of children's books and games, as if this installation was some sort of flat-pack kit, to be assembled into an exciting pop-up model for imaginative free play and endless possibility. There is no sense of being constrained or weighed down by the past, rather, that memory provides a firm basis for forward momentum and continuing development. (I must also confess to having stopped to marvel, on occasion, at the orderly lay-out of my own fuse box... )

I remember seeing his New York fire escape in red at Tate Modern., really powerful. Once agaiin many thanks for speaking so well and showing the work here at Victoria Miro,, as you say it has an osmotic sensuality defying the material state of its original source becoming a gateway or passage to the imagination. Your videos are greatly appreciated
