I needed this because my brothers' switch was brand new and rarely heats while mine was brutally used by someone and has lots of dust on the screws, on the air vents and on the air intake. To top it off it also has dust on the joycon sides.
Don't follow this tutorial. There is no need to remove the screws on the side. Why trying to clean the fan, my sensor bar broke off. It was beacause it was loose from removing the screws. So thank you for helping me fuck up my switch
would just spraying compressed air in the vents be good enough. i'm not into unscrewing and opening up stuff but my switch has been sounding like a jet for like 2 months now.
@@paultoney4267 i just got around to finally using compressed air but i only did for like half a second. but i was just doing the n64 blowing into cartridge trick and it kind of works. i mean my switch has still been doing it but it went from revving up super loud for about 30 minuets to only doing it for like 2 or 5 so i guess it kind of works.
Technically no, because you'd just be blowing all the dust and grossness back IN to the switch. With it closed up like that, there's nowhere for the dust and debris to go but back in and further clog up your system.
Finally someone who’s cleaning inside the console, you a blessing thanks

For anyone doing this, if you also have some thermal paste laying around, not recommended but I’d re apply some new paste
Where does it get applied and what does it do?
Yeah he should’ve cleaned off the old thermal paste and reapplied, cleaning dust is good and all but thermal paste is the key!!
@@danawall1785 it gets applied on top of the cpu
Quickest tutorial in the world...I love it.❤
Won't Q tips leave fibers behind, especially if you touch soldering spots and it pulls material out of it? Can that cause any damage?
i think so
Thanks i'll try this! I happen to have spare thermal paste too!
Should have repasted while you were in there. Great vid dude I’m gonna use this!
100% agree. That would have been a perfect time for some new thermal paste. Thank you! Glad you found it helpful
I needed this thank you
You got it! 🤘🏼
Make sure to re-apply the thermal paste!! :)
If you dont, it can cause seriuos fatal overheating issues, damaging the component
Yo dude thanks this is a big help
No problem at all! Glad the video helped out
Thanks for tutorial good video
No problem at all!
what Phillips head screwdriver are you using? what size?

Be sure to hold the fan when blowing it out.
Can you do the og Xbox one? (I have one and it Has not been cleaned since buying it)
Is it possible to fix a Nintendo Switches mother board game with the data still
Being there, and if it is possible can you hopefully do it please
Do you have to disconnect the battery before you do all that?
Will this work with switch lite if not can you make a video

Did spraying vents with compressed air work? I’m in your same boat

@@shailyns I think you legit jinx me because it was acting fine for like a month and now it's back to doing it again.
if youve already done that much to clean the fan, its worth clean the old thermal paste and applying new paste lol
Shouldn't you unplug the battery before cleaning the motherboard ?
Is it ok if i dont change the thermal paste?
Let's go baby you posted
Yes sir!! Hope you are having a great day
Thanks man you to
i dont trust my dumbass to clean this

why is this on the Memorial Day section
Yea less than one hour gang 😎
great video
but why does he specify "soft bristle toothbrush"?
so you don’t damage the components
Looks easy...
so paying a man to do that job for me shouldn't be that expensive
lol 😂
What about a 3ds
I stripped all 5 of my side screws i dont understand what I did wrong
Probably used a cheap screwdriver. The switch screws tend to easily strip. Make sure to be careful and I recommend using a ifixit screwdriver set
That's a launch switch, you need to hack it!
I never tried it, but i heard the oled switch is way harder to mod
@@mcpro30it requires a chip to be put inside. While a launch requires a little jig and your basically done XD
