    Good news!! I have found the plans! I will begin sending copies to all who have requested. This will take some time because there are Lots of back requests. Please be patient. I am only one person.
    Should you not get a copy in the next couple of weeks, please send me a note. Who knew this would be so popular? :-)

    Very nice ! Lots of labor and a real nice boat. Did not know about this type of construction, it certainly gives me some ideas. Thanks for posting. Heck of a job. Looking forward to seeing it on the water.

    Great job!
    After building a lot of planes from Depron with fuselage, not only profile ones, I'm beginning with boats and Depron is a real nice stuff, lightweight, more durable than most other foams and it takes no water what makes it perfect for seaplanes and even boats ;)

    If you add water to gorrilla glue you can foam fill bulkheads. Extra strength too. Great vid,

    Thank you Francisco. She did turn out pretty nice. huh? I have used a really good sealing paint and applied many coats. I did use white glue thinned with water to apply to the foam edges. It gave a hard surface that sanded really well to give a smooth texture to the otherwise rough edge of the cut foam board. Going to check your tutorial now. :-)

      Pat Allsteadt Pat...I would need $12.00 for the foam board, $20.00 for the labor, and whatever the postage will be for shipping to you from central Florida. I am guessing that would probably be in the range of about $5-10.00 as I would need a 32" long box to put the parts in. I will also need a week to do the work. my e-mail is circuitfxr@yahoo.com. contact me there and we can come to an arrangement. Matt

      Thank you for getting back to me. The price sounds fair for purchasing the

      Where do I send the empty shipping box and check for the services?
      Thank you,

    • @NikkiTheOtter
      @NikkiTheOtter 5 років тому

      @@circuitfxr1 What batteries are you using in it? I tend to run heavier packs for my boat stuff if I can get away with it, just because pushing against water draws so much more power.

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  5 років тому

      @@NikkiTheOtter I am using a standard 7.2v NiMh battery pack. A heavier battery would need a platform or support mechanism to avoid deforming the hull. Remember, this is foam board. Some people use lead acid batteries to give longer run time, but a good LiPo battery will do the same job and is much lighter. I am old school. The NiMh batteries are a good fit for me.

    Nearly finish how do you seal the hull before priming

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  9 років тому

      There are many ways to seal the hull. I used a spray on clear polyurethane paint. You can also use foam safe epoxy and some people like to use a slurry of white glue thinned with water. I find that spray on sealers are the easiest to use and give a good smooth coating. Always test your sealers and paints on a scrap piece of foam board before applying to your hull. Paints with a petroleum base will most likely eat the foam. I left the paper on my foam board and only needed to protect the exposed foam on the edges. The spray on poly works well, but the thinned white glue could be used for sealing the edges only. The paper protects the foam from most paints and will accept primer and finish coat directly. Applying the paint to the paper will raise the pulp and I recommend sanding with 400-600 grit sandpaper between coats to get a smooth finish. Remember to allow time for the sealer to dry completely before sanding. Hope this helps.

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  11 років тому

      Hi Steven. I used Krylon ColorMaster spray paint for the light blue on the cabin. I used Krylon Indoor / Outdoor for the navy blue bottom. I sealed the foam with Minwax polyurethane clear gloss. The top coat clear (over the colors) is PlastiDip Glossifier made by Performix. I hope that helps. I like the Krylon products because I was spraying on the paper, NOT the foam. There are foam safe paints that can be used that are water based and have no petroleum distallates. The paints I used are NOT safe for bare foam. I also sealed the edges of the cut foamboard with diluted elmers white glue to keep the caustic paints from getting to the foam. e-mail me for details if you need them. Matt

    Um what type of paint did you use to spray the boat?

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  9 років тому

      I used a variety of paints for the different areas. The primer is a water based latex spray. The color coat is Rustoleum acrylics. The clear coat on the superstructure is a general purpose clear acrylic. the clear for the hull is a PolyUrathane clear made by PlastiDip. this is the same company that makes the liquid rubber dip for tool handles. I have found that using a high quality polyurethane clear coat as a sealer, over the primer, gives a good smooth base for the color coats. ALWAYS test your paint of choice on a scrap piece of foam board before using it. Some paints will eat the foam.

    Wherwe do you buy froam board. And hhiw much does it cost?

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  10 років тому

      Rex....I get my foam board from Walmart. Many places sell foam board in varying thicknesses and strength. I get the 5mm foam board from Walmart because it seems to be the most rigid. Dollar Tree also sells foam board, but the paper on theirs is thinner and the foam is less dense. Walmart price for a sheet 20"X30" is about $1.49 - 2.00 USD. Dollar Tree foam board is $1.00 a sheet. (same size)

    What type of filler did you use

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  4 роки тому

      any standard wood filler will work as long as you seal it with sealer or paint. you want something that is sandable.

    Ruairidaly Daly... I used 5mm foam display board with paper on both sides. Thanks for the question and for subscribing.

    How get w did you get the transom and bulkheads as one piece

    • @circuitfxr1
      @circuitfxr1  10 років тому

      Jeffrey, you need to draw the first half as shown on the plan. Then you need to turn the plan over and draw a second one next to the first. This is called "mirroring". You will need to make a "mirror" image of each of the bulkheads and the transom. Draw then together to make one piece. Thanks for the question. I also like to oversize the planking panels and trim the excess after it has been secured to the frame. This allows for a perfect fit and allows for minor imperfections to be compensated for within the frame. Good luck with your build.

      I don't see why not. There are many people who have made an RC model of the Titanic. I'm sure the foam board would work for that as well. Try it and let us know!

    Matthew. Your build video would have been EXCELLENT....if not for the distracting background music. If you were to sell this boat....I would love to buy the plans for it. However, cut the music.....or add music that is soothing to the style of the beautiful boat you created. I hope you understand what I am saying. Great boat and video youtube presentation....but again.....take out the distracting music. If you add music....calm it down to match the beautiful calm spirit the boat has. :0) Just saying.

      +Paul Randall “Randy” Hicks Thank you for your feedback. Due to the length of the video, I attempted to find uplifting music to avoid boredom and sleepiness. please feel free to mute the sound if you find it distracting.
