      @@Soystein That makes a bit more sense, but I still don’t see how that’s correct.
      Japan should be a bit more understanding of foreign ethnicities in society, even if incidents like this happen to make that seem like a worse idea.
      I genuinely don’t think this should be a law reform; in fact the law should be a lot more stricter on foreigners, they are too advantaged for minority groups! But it should be a cultural, societal change that accepts people of any culture, as there is still racism in Japan, as mentioned earlier.

      good. in my experience most Asian countries are fairly lenient towards foreigners and will let you get away with a lot, so the only time they're going to lock you up is when you are in fact guilty.

    The sad thing is I spent 2 years in Japan, and as a black man, i was surprised by how friendly and accepting the locals are. This guy leaves a bad impression for not just blacks, but all Americans in general. It's frustrating.

    I'm Japanese. Everything I've seen him do is all disrespectful in Japan. Being loud, disrupting the peace, just disrespectful in every way I can think of.
    Japan values respect, and he has none. Most people in Japan are non-confrontational, but the police and thugs are.

    My coworker is japanese and was talking about this today. He told me that what he is doing could get him in trouble with not only police and citizens but could get him targeted by yakuza or other groups. What he is doing is extremely dangerous.

    I was on leave in mainland Japan with 2 other Junior Marines. Walking through a crowded metro when we first arrived, it was absolutely silent. We were excited to be there, laughing, joking, and just all round good spirits. We quickly took the hint of the atmosphere and started speaking in hushed voices. When in Rome, do as Romans do.

    I've been to Japan before (at least twice) and I'll say that you should respect their culture, no matter what. I've made a few friends along the way and they're pretty kind and amazing to talk to.
    There are so many other ways to become a streamer, but harassing folks from Japan is not one of them.

      Thing is, they’re generally polite but are cautious of foreigners; whether that is a perceived danger or things they’ve heard.
      Depending on the place and their exposure, they could be really nice to foreigners or really mean to them.
      It’s just a lack of experience and ignorance being an isolated and yet homogenous culture.
      I blame popular media imports for this; and their inability to understand how people are generally the same.

    9:55 Last time I've heard, Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world by percentage per population (because Japan is a smaller country so it would be unfair to compare a small country to a bigger country like the US) but that doesn't mean crimes don't happen over there. Crimes just happen on a lesser frequency than other countries. No country in the world is a safe haven.
