  • Charley Hutton of Charley Hutton's Color Studios talks about the build of the 1940 Ford, Checkered Past.
The Ford won the 50th Anniversary Ridler at the Detroit AutoRama for 2013. The vehicle was painted with PPG Envirobase in a two stage. The waterborne finish allowed Charley to achieve the candy look without the three stage process.
Check out the 1940 Ford and the winning paint job with PPG.

So if its a two stage, is the black base a black sealer? Otherwise its not really a two stage.
