I think i just clicked the "subscribe" button. Your reviews are just perfect! :) You feel very natural , like you'd be presenting your own device to a friend of yours. That kinda translates into a better understanding of what a product can do and what it can't do. Keep up the nice work!
Yes, as I said in the video, the proprietary dock/charge connector from Transformer models isn't on the MeMO Pad. It uses the micro USB port for charging and also USB host if you have a USB OTG host adapter cable. I/O is definitely improved over Transformer models.
Great review. One of the most comprehensive review video's I have ever seen that covers all the stuff you "need" to hear about without babbling on about unnecessary things & wasting time. This is the only review video after watching it I ordered an item within 5 minutes. The item had everything I wanted and the review video covered all the things I might have had questions about or wanted to know. Again just awesome review and thanks for posting! This tablet has everything I could want or need.
Pretty much the same thing except the Transformer TF300 works with the optional keyboard dock and costs $50 more. If you don't need the dock, get the MeMO Pad.
I just ordered one of these and look forward to using this device. The round black tablet holder looks really nice. Who makes that? Is it still available? I looked around a good bit and could not find it. Thanks for a great video!
Honestly, I think Asus intends it to be portable more than mobile. An 18" tablet that weighs 5.3 pounds and a 9 pound dock... hefty. But neat, esp. running both Android and Windows 8. Asus isn't afraid to innovate and take chances.
You sold me when you started playing Dead Trigger. I found them for $130 or so on eBay and I've been looking for a decent 10" tablet. Gonna root it up and get it to 4.4.4 when it arrives. Thanks! :D
killerms2221 ok thx..because i've never rooted anything before but my bro has.. I've been looking at tablets for awhile keep going back to this one but wanted newer than 4.1.though the ASUS MeMO Pad 8 ME181C-A1-BK 8-Inch 1 GB Tablet has caught my eye
great review. I just got the Nexus 7 32 gb for $250. I was debating on the Nexus 10, but as you mentioned, most apps don't even utilize the power in these Tegra 3 tabs, so I felt the power of the N10 would of been overkill. I also heard the battery takes forever to charge on the N10 and that was a deal breaker for me...
Lisa you are by far the best Mobile Tech Reviewer online. My question for you is other than the keyboard dock what are the major differences between the Asus Memo and the Tf300. Perhaps you could do a Memo vs TF300 review? Thanks
Lisa, I love your review. I don't like to convert videos because of the time consumption and my slow computer.Would really love to see if tablets that you review are capable of playing back 720p or 1080p mkv videos. It would be the deciding reason whether to buy it or not for me personally.
I just went to Brandsmart USA (a huge local electronics retailer) to see if they had a Nexus 4 and see the chromebooks when i came across this thing and had never even seen it before. I'm at home right now playing with it, didn't even go to buy anything. Awesome, awesome tablet. I have a Nexus 7 16gb and this had the same CPU, screen (3in bigger), + SD card slot, HDMI, rear camera. Only complaints, no FLASH, Haptic feedback, Screen resolution should be 1600 at this size, & would like 1.5GB RAM
This last bluetooth crash was caused by the latest software update. One hell of a job ASUS! I have been a customer of ASUS motherboards but will rethink purchasing their system boards in the future also.
cool review i was surprised to see that micro sd 64 gig card especially because i was opting to buy a tablet that supports that and i was also looking at this one and the fhd version , but al the sites that i found says that they only support up to 32 gig so cool , have you had any problems ? i suppose its class 1 ? i have one in my camcorder and i want a tablet that supports that card so i can watch my vids on a tablet.do you know if the fhd version also supports this card ? thanx
Hi Lisa, I'm interested in buy this Memo Pad but also not sure if the Transformer TF300 is a better choise by the money difference, wich one you suggest? Thanks.

Thanks for the review, got one question for you which one is better this one or the Asus Transformer ?
lol that was an awkward "we're gonna look at it now" scene. but great review as usual. but hey Lisa, could you review the fujitsu t900 lifebook ? i m looking for a good power-book like machine on which i can take classroom notes as well as do some development stuff... i think fujitsu is a great option for that. what do you think ? also is there any forum at your site where people like us can ask for suggestions ?
I own the Nexus 10, and your correct it takes an over night charge, and I hope their working on a dock to improve that mess. The Nexus 10 was built with the future in mind, as of today, there are not many, or any apps that support such power, YET. but it's a lot for the cost. I'd wait on better apps before buying another tablet.
Damn, my Transformer Prime seems a little out dated now lol! Still hands down, the best tablet experience I've ever had. Asus does know how to make great tablets and my Prime has helped me out a bunch in school for making spreadsheets on the go for chemistry & physics labs and lab reports, viewing my calculus & physics books, graphing, and just lounging around in between classes. I've had mine for about a year and I can honestly say that Asus tablets will get you through a lot. Very capable!
what a good review.. i always watch your vids, madam.. you're voice sounded like nemo's friend, is it dory? especially when you said memo.. :) God Bless, Lisa! Keep it up!
Simple. Which size is better for you? :) the Tab 2 7.0 is more portable This one is a 10 inch tablet, which is not as portable, but it has a larger screen. For 7 inch tablets, you can also search for the Nexus 7, Asus Memo Pad 7". and some other stuff to see which one is better. I personally recommend the Nexus 7 when it comes to 7" tablets.
Theres a new sku for this which swaps the tegra 3 for a rk101 quad core 1.6ghz with a mali 400 mp4 gpu, how is that SOC like compared to say a intel atom clovertrail or other arm processors.
Well, what does "bright" mean to you? If you need to use your tablet as a headlight for your car , it won't do the job , but if you intend to use it as a tablet , it will be just fine. I keep mine close to the lowest light setting and i still find it disturbing sometimes at night for how bright it is. In direct sunlight it adjusts automatically so you're able to see your screen pretty well. At least i know i am.
In the end... just bought this tablet today. Sadly in Europe I've not been able to find it under 339 euros. Seems anyway good and the sound profiles is great!
Other than the keyboard dock, what is the difference between the Asus Memo and Asus TF300? On another note, why is Tegra 3 processor tablets advertised for 3D games but the new Intel processors, Win 8 tablets are not so much for gaming?
I bought this tablet recently as a refurbished but It doesn't connect to my home broadband or any other broadband. The only wireless network that it was successfully connected to is my University network. Can you help me please?
How does this compare, in your opinion, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1? I'm torn between getting rid of my Samsung with this Asus. I really like how the Asus felt and the speakers were MUCH better.
This tablet has usb support on board. You don't need to dock it. You can use any keyboard. Less Money to get a tablet that hits all the bases. I don't see why some people don't get it. I don't want to spend $100 To $150 more to get usb. I ordered one.
Does this tablet have a 10 point touch screen? Im looking for a okay tablet for sketching. My capacitive pen doesn't work on my phone and Im at a loss right now. Thanks for the video =]
Hello, I am a college student and am thinking about getting myself a tablet to take notes on in class instead of using paper. This is one the I am really considering. I do not do gaming, and basically I would use this for music, web browsing, note taking, light video usage, etc. Is this the best option for me, or is there a better (possibly more cheaper?) option? thanks
The 7 inch is a VIA A4 1ghz Chip. Wonder how that's going to compare with this one unless there using the same CPU. At least there using a 1gb DDR 3 ram chip.
Was loving this bought cos you give it a good review and I ordered 64gb memory card and it works but you cant move apps to sd which you failed to state :( do you know if there is a way round it?
My Asus MeMO Pad 10 ME301T can't connect to Wifi networks anymore, it has been working flawlessly for almost a year! Maybe a recent update which broke something? How could this happen :( Any help appreciated!
I tried to read books and it performed pretty well. If you get the tablet really close to you, you'll see that the text isn't really smooth , but if you keep it on your lap for example , the text is going to look just fine. Sure , it is no retina display, but for 300 dollars it does the job just fine for most of the users. You could also go for a chinese tablet like the Cube U9GT V, but while you gain a better screen and spend a few dollars less, you lose a lot of performance.
is it able to play injustice mobile. I brought a 10,1 inch tablet only to find out its not compatible with injustice or huntington apps and those apps I use the most plzz answer
A laptop is always far superior than a tablet for any student. These have 16GB storage, my laptop has 1,000GB. I could list dozens of reasons why, but I'm sure you can just figure it out yourself.
Brian Maragos There are some reasons to purchase tablet over laptop. 1) mobility- How much lighter is a tablet over laptop. 2) battery life-generally tablets run for 8 hours, 10-11 if you turn off wifi/bluetooth, apps - tablets have special apps (free/paid) designed for mobile computing, games, browsing, chatting, note taking, scanning, pictures. Then there are little features like having a camera on the front and back both for video conferencing and video lecture recording while your taking notes in class. Can't video record a lecture with a laptop and type notes at the same type, theres no back camera on laptops. With these Asus Transformer line of clam shell tablets you have the best of both worlds. MS office seems a bit over rated now that you can use open office (free) and Androids Polaris Office
Very true. But I'd still stand firm that any student can survive on a laptop alone, but if you have a tablet for school, you will almost certainly need a laptop/pc as well, or at least regular access to one.

One of the main reasons I like your reviews is, you go out of your way to give very precise details on the product you're reviewing. Thank you!!!

Great review, I was having doubts on whether to buy this or not.. But after watching I decided to buy it on Amazon.. Only $230!
Yes in the video I showed you I was using a 64 gig SanDisk SDXC micro SD card. It works fine.
Yes it has USB host, we cover that in the video.
I just ordered one of these and look forward to using this device.
The round black tablet holder looks really nice. Who makes that? Is it still available? I looked around a good bit and could not find it.
Thanks for a great video!
Was not 100% sure if I wanted this one. I was not able to find a better for the same money and after seeing this review I am ordering it. Thanks!

You sold me when you started playing Dead Trigger. I found them for $130 or so on eBay and I've been looking for a decent 10" tablet. Gonna root it up and get it to 4.4.4 when it arrives. Thanks! :D
did you buy it and root it? i found refurbished on ebay for 109.99
weizenale Yep it was an easy root, I used Kingo www.kingoapp.com/

Hey! I'm looking to get this tablet, but do you mind me asking, what did you use to install 4.4.4 on it? Did you use Cyanogenmod 11? Thanks!
Nicholas Bryan
i need to know this to
Android OS 4.0 and up don't allow installation of apps on SD cards. It's not the manufacturer's fault.
Great review! High-five! I was looking for something exactly like this! Great job with the benchmarks, thanks for using more than one!
great review. I just got the Nexus 7 32 gb for $250. Just ordered one on sale a couple days ago for 150.00 so i cant wait to try it. Good video.
Lisa you are by far the best Mobile Tech Reviewer online. My question for you is other than the keyboard dock what are the major differences between the Asus Memo and the Tf300. Perhaps you could do a Memo vs TF300 review? Thanks
Looks like Asus is seriously discounting the Vivo Tab RT on the way to discontinuing it. So we likely won't review it.
I just picked this up today for $179.99! Great deal and really nice tablet!
I'm sure Asus will eventually get the OS update out, they're usually among the first to do so.
Once again Lisa, great review. Thank you!

Out of the tablets I've been researching for around $100 on eBay. this is the one I'm going to get... great review.
Same here man, ive been researching for about a solid week, Chinese tablets, name brand blah blah.. I have landed on this asus memo as well. :)
Love your reviews Lisa. Safe to say this is a TF300 without the keyboard doc hardware?
I always enjoy your reviews. Very informative and pro work. Thanks.

Thanks Bjorn De Lange it really helps when I get an opinion from someone that already owns it.
Can you connect a external hard drive usb 1tb using the OTG??
Great review!!
Does this tablet recognize wireless printers without an external app?
Simple. Which size is better for you? :)

Lees, are you planning on doing a breakdown of the Mobile Linux OS?
Theres a new sku for this which swaps the tegra 3 for a rk101 quad core 1.6ghz with a mali 400 mp4 gpu, how is that SOC like compared to say a intel atom clovertrail or other arm processors.
Are the dimensions and ports the same so that case would fit either version, the smart or the FHD?
I thinks a europe only SKU different to the FHD and the tegra 3 sku, it has no micro hdmi out

my "taskbar" is up top and i cant figure out how to shortcut to the profiles
Does this tablet have a 10 point touch screen?
Im looking for a okay tablet for sketching. My capacitive pen doesn't work on my phone and Im at a loss right now. Thanks for the video =]
I just ordered a Nexus 10...Now I'm thinking I should have gotten this instead...?

Really thanks for the review, it really helps me ;) For that kind of price, really worth it.
Hi! What tablet is the best? The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 or This ASUS MemoPad Smart 10?? Please!
What should I choose: Asus Memo pad smart 10 or Samsung tab 2 10.1 ???

Nice review Lisa :-)
Does this tablet have stock Android ?
Nope
no gorilla glass? are you sure? Some spec sites tell it has.
Yes this and the tf300 are similar but it dose not offer a key bord dock and the back is not the same no circular pattern.
asus MeMO Pad Smart 10 Or asus Transformer Pad TF300 how is the bestbuy?

Bought it, never could find the USB adapter for it so I returned it.
Where did you get that adapter?
It's not even on the Asus web site...
is it worth getting for a graphic design student ??

It been almost a week now, would you still recommend HISENSE Sero 7 Pro to someone? I am thinking of buying two as well.
Where can I get that stand you put the tablet on? It's pretty cool :D
You said it was a Tegra 4 at the end.. Its a Tegra 3.
This is the tablet I had but the screen cracked very easily
GG, Time flew by super fast!
Thats real
It would be great if you could review two 10" tablets that cost around the same price eg. In the UK it would be this Memo Pad and the Samsung Galaxy 2. I realise they have different specs, but they are in a similar price bracket. Thanks
the 32GB model is about $50-100 more, but the 16GB TF300 is the same price or even cheaper.
will you also review the ASUS MeMO Pad 7" ?
you mention the GPS... will that make any difference with eg. Google's Sky Map app? (ie. star gazing app) Tried Google Sky out on my Lenovo Idea Tab A2109 and it didn't work.
Does it have space to put little Sim card so I can have internet on the Go?
Lisa, will you be at the s4 event?
What stand are you using to hold up the tablet?
Is it possible to use a micro usb to hdmi cable to see the the screen from the asus memo pad on a smart tv?
Does it let you move apps too your SD card because Samsung don't ?
how can I get the windows 10 upgrade on my Asus memo ME176 pas ?

Shall I buy this tablet?
what is the difference between the asus transformer tf300 and this tablet?
I enjoyed your review. thank you!
Still waiting for the Razer Edge review
Lisa that was a cool review
We stick to the mobile stuff, so we won't be reviewing the lovely Asus AiO.
Please can you confirm me that this supports 64gb of micro sd card?
Please do a Q and A video about yourself! I really want to know all about you!
The TF-300 is between 50-100 more. That's the point. Asus wanted a product under 300.
Thank u lisa making a good review...
Tell what is USB OTG cable
You mentioned that you put in a 64GB sd card. Is that ok? I thought you could only use 16GB cards (sorry, only a beginner! lol)
I need a tablet to carry all my docs from google drive when i go to college. Do you think that the resolution is good enough to read docs or even PDFs? Please somebody answer me
