Keep up the ceramics practice. I think you’re more of a conceptual artist more than figurative (just looking at your work and themes over the last few years) - and the conceptual practice shines in a commercial way the best in your sculptures.
Firstly, love this first video of brettcast and excited for more. On the topic of brat summer and making your own opportunities, I am really trying to focus my energy on making space in the art world for ME. I've found that throughout my college experience, I have this impending doom of sorts that after college I will not find a job as an artist and therefore not make money from my craft. I have always been artistic, but never really stuck to one medium. I love painting, I love photography, and lately have learned to love sewing. I've been in this mindset that I have to put myself in a box and pick one if I want to succeed. I started college with the intent of getting a degree in studio arts, but found that I just wasn't as invested in that path as I thought I would be. Now I've changed paths intirely and am getting my associates in photography. I want to learn and try so many different things and this summer I've finally decided I will. I want to start posting on social media just to document my journey as an artist with multiple ambitions. I want to create for my enjoyment and this summer I am making that happen. Its just a start, but I'm going to make my space in the art world and make opportunities for myself because I can't expect them to just come to me. Idk just something I thought to myself while watching this video.
I love how real you keep it. I'm still a bit delulu and trying to make it as a youtube artist like you, but here's hoping 🤣 you make amazing unique paintings that are a perfect fit for galleries, those ones just weren't the right ones ❤
I just started the video and I just love how you make me feel seen Brett. Going into my senior year of college, I feel scared about the uncertainty of choosing happiness and contributing to society through art as a poet. You've relieved so much of my anxiety by being open about hardships. Your determination to not quit is something that fuels mine so thank you times a million. We all love you for this!!!
Listening to the first half of this video I was thinking this guy needs to travel and half way through you totally mentioned you want to travel! I would suggest a cheap ticket to London where you can spend every day in a different museum (which are free) and soak up the art and history. You definitely sound like you need a culture boost. I lived in Cali for 14 years and although it can be fun you need to get out and soak up some inspiration!

The way I have no love life its boring nothing happens I stay at home and go outside sometimes what you need to do and nobodys been interested 😢but ive not even liked anyone enough either to talk to them so hwaiting for something to happen. The production crew is taking their time
Also I love ceramics been doing it since 2018 made so many things since then but its so fun. In my local library every week they have a class and ive been going for a long time. I love talking to the people there especially in the adults class nice time to talk and socialise. So glad I finally managed to go cause ceramics has always been my dream to do. Its not that expensive like per class of 2hrs its like £10-12 absolutely everything is included the clay the tools glazes firing a kiln theres a tutor to help you its great 😊so then per block of like 10 weeks its like 110sh
Me doing stuff like painting and sometimes fiberarts posting when I feel like it I don’t post everything. Its mostly for my friends to see what I did usually nothing serious cause ive got like 120 followers so. I just like having something to do in my free time like hobbies but then it can be a bit difficult when you see that you’re not super good improvements have been made
i wouldn't call the way going to USC and having connections nepotism, it sounds more like privilege. no shame in using it either as long as ur cognizant and not using it to harm others
If we took a shot every time you said vibration we would have alcohol poisoning but it's okay because I now overuse vibration too from watching all your videos lol
