I'm glad someone reached out to you. I am sorry I didn't because you have been on my mind. I wondered if you and Peter were doing okay. I'm so sorry things have been so hard lately for you guys. I am not a foster parent, but I have been in a pretty dark and heavy place lately and just feeling like I can't climb out of this pit I'm in. Every time I feel like I can see the light I fall back down. God reminded me of Psalm 40:1-3 which says, I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him." I believe people can see God more in your life when you walk through struggles. You are such a light Lisa, even when you feel surrounded by darkness, you are still shinning because God's light can never go out and He is in you. Never stop sharing! Your words matter. You are changing the lives of many...kids in your home and everyone who watches your videos. Keep doing what you do! I'm praying for you🙏💜
Thanks! And thanks for that encouragement and scripture! I’m thankful you can cling to that when you are down. Yes, in our weakness, we are strong because of Christ!
Thank You! My first time coming to your channel and I am going to be doing foster care soon. This was definently encouraging. Stay strong and Blessed🙏🏽❤ We can do all things through christ who strengthens us. Amen
This is terrible advice. We are smart with our money (don’t buy a lot of junk, but rather experiences) and teach kids who come into our care how to practice with money. And yes, we treat them like how we would want to be treated if we were in their shoes. We don’t buy fancy name brand things because we don’t buy those things for ourselves.
Thank you so much for sharing your struggles and how you’re getting through it - I’m not a foster parent nor am I religious, but I’ve been feeling really down recently and you have no idea how much this kind of content helps, it makes me feel like I’m not alone, and it’s so cheering to see hear your optimism and words of encouragement. Sending you all the best from the UK.
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m thankful this can help you in what you’re going through even though the circumstances are different. Love hearing from people all over the world 🇬🇧 ❤️
Me: Hey God. God: Hello..... Me: I'm falling apart. Can you put me back together? God: I would rather not. Me: Why? God: Because you aren't a puzzle. Me: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground? God: Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back. Me: You don't understand! I'm breaking down! God: No - you don't understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling are just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. You aren't falling apart. You are falling into place. Relax. Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don't need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don't fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go. Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me? God: Only the very best pieces of you. Me: I'm scared of changing. God: I keep telling you - YOU AREN'T CHANGING!! YOU ARE BECOMING! Me: Becoming who? God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light and love and charity and hope and courage and joy and mercy and grace and compassion. I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such greed and fear. Let those things fall off of you. I love you! Don't change! ... Become! Become! Become who I made you to be. I'm going to keep telling you this until you remember it. Me: There goes another piece. God: Yep. Let it be. Me: So ... I'm not broken? God: Of course Not! - but you are breaking like the dawn. It's a new day. Become!!! ~Author John Roedel
Very cool - thanks for sharing! Reminds me of the verse about God being the potter and we are the Clay and He is molding us into who he wants us to become ♥️
Just starting the video but wanted to say I was thinking of you and wondering if everything is okay since I hadn't seen updates in a bit. Not that it is your responsibility to keep me(the world) updated... (NO PRESSURE) but I was thinking of you. This journey is so hard.
She needs to know you’re not the “enemy”. No foster child attacks who they know is their ally. Really everybody. But the fact that you’re a temporary person in their life can be harmful. The fact that you’re providing for them now is good, but certainly not enough. Making a temporary home for kids is a big fumble on the system. Ask August.
But that is foster care- to provide a temporary home. I don’t have to be a temporary person. That will be up to the bio parents or youth if they decide to keep us in their life - we have left that relationship with every child/ teen that’s come open on our end. The “system” is broken because it can never fix/heal the hurt of what the parents did that caused their kids to go into foster care. Kids love their families and want to be with them, but it’s not always safe for them. That’s where foster care comes in- to keep kids safe .
@@HappyHoppe I agree. But it is a sacrifice and a service you’re making. It’s a situation where love really can’t be put in the picture. Which I think explains where the turmoil can come from. Good luck, thank you for your service.

Oh no 😥 I hope you can get it figured out. I’m glad you’re seeing it now:)
My advice is DO NOT DO NOT spend too much money on the kids ur fostering cuz u DON'T know if they gonna stay with u or NOT

The Sabbath offers a day of rest. Make sure you try to take it. ❤ I'm not religious but I do think lot of the Bible is a life line.
Yes, a day of rest each week is essential 👍❤️
