    You've done a great job with the gear you have . Looking forward to seeing the improvement the boom can make when you can turn it up !

    Thanks Dane for the pins and Uncle Gus sticker. Just noticed your at 15K+ subs, seems like you were at 10k just the other day. Congrats on all the fun and success.

      I think we can hit the goal this year and become a single digit drag and drive car. May not seem like a big deal but it is to me!

      @Burndown it's awesome watching the journey Dane. Hard work is paying off. I'm enjoying seeing the 4l80's work, I'm still looking for one for myself. I think that with the right converter, is the way to go for my build

      @@masoncampos7043 Depending on your goals a mildly built 4l80e with a budget converter from Ryan is a killer combo. This converter will go in my wife’s car. We are going to work on getting her to the flat 10’s starting with an NA car and working our way down.

      @Burndown My goal is a nice street/strip car. 6L 799 heads, forged pistons Scatt Rods 😉, VSR 78/75 billet turbo, on E, in a 68 GTO. Looking to do some cruises and pro touring stuff. Would like to put 800 to 950hp to the tire eventually lol.. You know typical guy stuff!

      @@masoncampos7043 You’re in what I call the fun zone. Trying to get to the 1xxx digit HP level and up you eat all kinds of parts. I found that 5-600 wheel is awesome and is a ton of fun and most parts will tolerate it for a little while before the give up so you can upgrade as you go VS lots of money now. What do you think my car sat on jackstands so long after I made over 650 🤣

    With a tbrake leaving on Like 5-6 pounds of boost you will have easy 1.4x sixty foots. Should make for easy 9.50’s in your car.

      @Burndown  4 місяці тому

      My buddy Reid got his 3900# car to a 1.39 with a 4.8 in his A body so I have hope 😁. Hell even a 1.4x would be great for my big ol car.

    Awesome journey you did man. What’s the weight on the boom? I’ve been beating my sloppy style 5.3 build for 2 years in the mid to low 5 second range in the 1/8 mile. I’m thinking of doing a similar setup in a drag n drive build. In an 80s s10.

      I’ll throw it on the scales if I go to Warr before the event or can get ahold of a set. It’s around 3200 I believe

    G'day Dane, how's you son doing, we haven't seen him much out working on his Moms car.

    • @Burndown
      @Burndown  4 місяці тому +1

      I can only work on one car at a time. His pacer got put on hold till race week is over and then it’s back on the pacer. Momma is chomping at the bit to get her car going too 😅. I hope to have her car running the way it is for the summer to enjoy it stick for a bit and make it run so it’s easier to move around. If I’m successful all my cars will run this summer!!!! That would be crazy

    Brother! What's that tool in the background? Looks like a press for automatic trans clutch pistons, and i think i need that! Hope you get your trans back built some day soon, but better content building your own like Blaser Builds has been cranking out the last few years.

    • @Burndown
      @Burndown  4 місяці тому

      It’s for compressing transmission positions to do the seals. Balser is more well versed in trans building than I am. He has good videos on it as well so I don’t feel like I need to cover it. I’m sure I will be good enough to put a decent trans together at some point. The one in the background will go to race week this year I think. Waiting on parts for it so I can finish it.

    • @BigRedRocketScience
      @BigRedRocketScience 4 місяці тому +1

      @@Burndown yeah, but Dane! First priority to answer is where do I get that tool? Who makes it? What's the part number? How much? Next priority is build your own trans on the cheap and push it without the guilt that it's someone else's or the fear it'll take 3 years with the builder to get back. I know the builder did you 2 life-times of solids, so you can't be bummed on camera, but imagine being free to blame yourself! A21Bravo's covered 4l80e building, but I still watch every one in amazement how fast he's gotten in 4 years. We'd watch you too.

      @@BigRedRocketScience yes the tool I bought was expensive but I plan on putting it to use. I’m also going to buy the too to do the 4th ger lip seals as they can be a pain. They have other versions of the tool for a bit less you can get, but you have to screw them down. It’s not a ratcheting function.

    Are you committed to the apple computer because you can get a powerful used windows machine for like $400 or less depending on your neads

    • @Burndown

      I have a background in graphic design and have used apple for a long time now. I like Final Cut Pro and I believe it’s only on Mac. I have had my laptop and it’s been great since l started really posting videos so about 6 years or so so not bad when you break the price down over a six year run. I’ll need a tooning computer at some point too tho and that’s pc.

      @@Burndown Dane Paul, my use with computers, including computer aided design began within engineering design using computers with UNIX with X-Windows over 40 years ago.
      Also began using MAX OS about 40 years ago too, mostly for document processing.
      MAC OS also is based in the original UNIX [BCD-Berkley]. Since then for commercial, along with common users there are many free, excellent Linux operating systems which are also developed from UNIX
      Thus the best performance with any processor is Linux with MAC OSX nearly the same.
      The main issue with MAC are just the cost of the computers are overpriced as are many others which most purchase commonly though the processor prices continue to drop along with memory, SSD drive storage, and all of the components.
      Windows is still the worst operating system with all of their problems, issues, limitations, etc.
      Actually have some useful suggestions that are simple, useful, helpful, beneficial, valuable including costs and performance.
      A. Look into all of the best video editing software available for Linux; most are free with similar capabilities, use as Final Cut pro, Adobe, etc.
      B. Linux will run on any Intel, AMD, previously also on MAC computer with some operating on the newer Apple M series processors too.
      C. You can have a very portable, powerful processor, computer in a small box with a or multiple portable or fixed touch screen or non-touch screen, small light weight wireless, BT keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. and all of the components, uses including battery operation too.
      1. For the computer look at min computers in the NUC type, 4 in to 5 in square range; these can be used at home, in Your RV-Winnebago, car, etc.
      a. my personal recommendations through searching, value are
      -1. - why not purchase the most recent version, since they have a new generation each year; seemingly Intel i5,7,9 14th G or similarly AMD Ryzen 5,7,9 7000 Series
      -2. AMD Ryzen has better internal graphics processing - check the performance comparisons via reliable technical measurement groups
      -3. seemingly for video processing would recommend Ryzen 7,9 or i7,9
      -4. also higher RAM with 16GB minimum, better 32, 64 GB for the video processing enhances performance; currently DDR5
      -5. for some video uses, an external video processor is very useful, but not a necessary are previously
      -6. barebones units are commonly the best value, then add desired SSD drives, RAM, etc.; occasionally there are valuable package deals - check newegg, manufacture site or similar [Amz not the most recent update equipment nor pricing]
      -7 brand recommendations:
      -a. ASRock 4x4 Box; either Intel or AMD [Taiwan]
      -b. Asus PN [Taiwan]
      -c. ECS-Elite Group {LIVA series], Lenovo, [both Taiwan] Intel,
      --1. ECS also has some unique micro size, tiny computers [60-75 mm/2-2.5 in sq useful for pocket size portability which can use any standard, common rechargeable battery 'pack' with USB A/C connection -> connect with portable monitor, keyboard, etc. -> also SIM card option; also portable, small 2n1 computer with same process, specs, SIM option, etc.
      -d. there are some CCP-China based companies, but aware and beware; specifications & quality are less along with support, durability, etc.
      If You desire some assistance, please ask me; am willing with any guidance needed, desired
      All The Best, Sincerely
