  • ‘Community Dressing’ is a documentary series about the Dutch National Costumes. Theodorus Johannes defines the state of contemporary fashion consumption through looking at the regional costumes.
By focusing on the almost disappeared Dutch costumes and its traditions, standards, values, creation and its passing, a glance of the costumes is being compared to today's fashion system. Various experts, craftsmen and wearers are questioned to answer the following question; How has the current fashion system changed and / or stayed the same relative to costume dressing?
Everywhere humans gather, fashion manifests. In this episode of Community Dressing we discover how culture springs in and around communities. What role does a regional costume play in creating and maintaining a sense of community? In addition, Theodore takes the plunge with Staphorster Stipwerk.
