Yess the itching reminds me to clean it! Instead of scratching I just spray it with some saline rinse and it feels so much better while also staying clean
@@davedurosier They healed up perfectly. During the healing process, I just avoided touching them, used H2Ocean after my showers. I took 2 showers a day, one in the morning, one at night. Finally, I waited around 9 weeks to finally switch out my earrings.
My rook is almost 2 months and my double helix is 9 months, and they are opposite of each other so my airplane pillow comes in very handy when sleeping. So far my piercings are doing well
Did your ear swell up when you got your double helix pierced cause I got mine 4 days ago and yesterday it started to swell up cause I accidentally slept on it the bars still have room I’m just paranoid
@@d3adphoenix864 well firstly I got my double helix done with hoops cuz I was still new with cartilage so I didnt know, butI think I did have swelling but wasn't noticeable because I didnt have bars like you do. Also over a year later 1 of mine still has a bump from accidentally sleeping on it so I'd recommend you be very careful if you want it to heal nicely
I got mine like 5 days ago too and I also have bumps behind them because of my hair pulling on them (I hope this is normal??), what was the general healing process for you guys? (Dice it’s been a year since y’all got them)
It’s normal for the piercings to be tender for the first days or two weeks it’s adjusting it’s something foreign to the body. My left Tragus is itchy and my right isn’t much lol 😂

Hello! I’m not Christine but I just wanted to say when trying to find a reputable piercing place opt for a place that uses needles and not guns. Guns can shatter your cartilage as they use blunt force to shove earring through your ear. Piercing guns are also more prone to infection because it’s impossible to sanitize a piercing gun. Finally decided to get my lobes pierced after delaying it for some time. I got them done Saturday night around 6:30. They don't hurt. The pain was gone the same night when I got them pierced. I went to Walmart and bought the NeilMed Wound Wash Sterile Saline Solution spray. I used it twice yesterday and did my first cleaning for today. They still look a little red and swollen. Which I assume is normal since it literally just got them done. I sleep on my back. Make sure I'm really careful with them. However, I did notice on the right side when I go to pat dry really gently after using the saline solution there was tiny almost unrecognizable bits of blood. Other than that I love my piercings and cant wait to take this jewelry out for the one I really want.
Remember: if u did the piercing earlier this same day and its throbbing, chances are your hair got caught on it and irritated. It doesnt instantly mean its infected. (Its me, I may be delulu, but i genuinely believe it is natural for it to hurt after a strand of my hair just got caught on it
I’ve had my 3rd ear piercings about a week ago, and whenever I lie on a pillow sideways, they push back so when I wake up they’re stuck and I have to push them back through again, its like the whole stud just goes through my ear..
yea i have 3mm studs, one got stuck in my ear for a little while, it just got pushed out today and now im scared i really messed up. it doesn’t hurt unless i though or play around with it.
Finally someone mentioned itching because I'm feeling it. My helix started swelling 3 days after piercing but its not serious temperature is cool and its not red just showing bruising. The first day it was just red. I have been cleaning 2 a day, I'm praying the swelling goes down after two days 🙏. I think it's angry because the back was slightly poked during cleaning 😅. Update its wonderful now, The jewelry even moves freely sparingly itches
@@lemonade1485 calm down. its just inflamed clean it twice a day don't touch, poke, hit or sleep on it. Ignore it and after 5 days or more it will gradually calm down
Yes I got my cartilage pierced last Monday it was great the first 4 days then all of a sudden it started swelling I’ve been cleaning it 2 times per day I’m so scared I pray it goes down soon
@@hoebag9713 after I think a year and a half I did indeed lose the battle and had to take both my ears and my nose out (i got them all done at the same time) still have the scars
My first ear piercing is 56 years old! My second holes are 45 years old. I did the first ones myself. They are fine. (to this day) My seconds I got done at Claire's with a gun. They also turned out fine. I let them go back together & I just opened them back up. One of them the earring went right through, but the other one I had to reopen , because the back of it closed up. But for the most part, the piercing is still there. I was able to put in earrings. Only the one needs to re-heal. I can't stand studs, so I put hoops in them. When I pierced the first holes, I put in hoops .after a few days with thread in them from the needle I pierced them with. Back in the day, that's how it was done. They didn't have Claire's in the Mall for probably another 10 or 15 years. I burned the end of the needle & then cleaned it with alcohol. I tried the H@ Ocean & didn't really like it .It didn't feel good like alcohol. I like alcohol better. It feels so good when I put it on & it does really work good for me. So, What ever works best for the individual, I say.
My ear is always hot to touch in the first week after a new piercing no matter where I go, which is weird. They healed fine but for every piercing I went to a different place and still got some slight throbbing and hot feeling for each one. Maybe that's just what's normal for me, because my newest one is only a week old and it just stopped feeling hot a few days ago, but the place I went was super sanitary and used implant grade titanium.
hey can anyone help? i recently (6 days ago) got my double piercing in my ear done with a copper wire and the guy just twisted it and left it in like a little hoop. he said to remove it after 1 week. so the one week mark is almost here and idk what to do because 1. i learned that apparantly copper is a rly bad metal for piercing (so does that mean that I should take it out asap at the one week mark and replace it w gold studs?) 2. i also learned that taking out the earrings too early can cause irritation and infection (so should i leave the copper wires in for another week or two?). also here r what my ears have been like the past few days. day 1: constant pain, not rly and blood, i didnt wash it at all. day 2: shootting pain every minute, some black stuff forming in the hole, i didnt wash it at all. day 3: little pain all the time but more when touched, i washed it with water and dried with a towel. day 4: still lots of pain when i touch it and some just in general, notice that when i woke up there was some dried blood on both, washed/picked off the dried blood with just water, one ear was fine, the other ear began Dripping blood after i cleaned it so idk what that was abt. day 5/6: again dried blood, more this time, washed/picked it off with saline nielmed wound wash and a q tip, pain is mostly gone, it doesnt hurt in general unless i press on it or accidentally move the hoops(copper wires). *so the question is, do i remove and replace the copper wires with gold studs tmrw or should i just leave the copper wires in for a couple more days? and if i do replace it, how would i do it as to not irritate or cause infection?*
@@yours1ana I know late reply When healing your piercings, use either stainless steel or titanium because they keep from retaining moisture. Generally, don’t remove your piercing(s) in 4 weeks, in order for it to heal a bit. Even the 4 week mark you can change piercings to smaller rings because swelling is less likely to show up, don’t let your piercings stay without something in them because they can heal over the holes and you’ll have to re-pierce them. Generally, the 3 month mark is recommended to be healed but it can be longer, like 6 months to a year.
@@barhoque okay thank u so much! i switched them to sterling silver studs and they’re doing sm better than the sus copper wire. i haven’t been applying the saline so they’re still a little not healed and i was worried but heating u say 3-6 months helps

I got my ears pierced like three weeks ago and the pain went away in like fifteen minutes- this was the second time after I got them done with a gun at Claire’s and them getting infected, so I waited like seven years. This time I got it done with a needle and feels like nothing compared to the gun :) But- I went to clean it today and when I put the cleaner they gave me, my piercing just got enveloped in puss so now I’m terrified but am too scared to call the people who did this for me
I recently got my second holes in my ears done two weeks ago. And I was really concerned this past weekend when I woke up and saw my earring receding into its hole. So I took it out and put it back in and it hurt so bad! But I toughed it out. It’s better now. The top part of the hole is just a little bit split I guess 🥴. But the bottom is fine. It really helpful that you said they heal from the inside out and that sleeping on a certain ear irritates it’s more! Thank you for the informative videos!
Yeah I'm a side sleeper both sides and my ears are still sore I got mine done febuary 5th so it's been 9 days I'm going to try and sleep on my back for awhile
I know this was three years ago for you. But I had the exact same issue and saw this and did exactly what you did but on my third piercing! It already looks and feels way better, I really hope this helps!

My first and probably last piercing is earrings, they are about a month old. It started bleeding today and it got stuck, hopefully this video helps with my problem Edit: it was only my left percing
Thank you I’ve had my second for 4 weeks now yesterday it started bleeding like crazy even a blood clot came out! I sleep on my right and the stud had so much pressure I have a third on my right as well I have a different type of earring and I’ve never had problems!

Thank you for this video. I got my upper lobe pierced last week and it is itching so bad on the left year only. I thought it was an infection but I am now relaxed watching this video. It is normal then😅
Got my doubles done 2 days ago but my left ear has gotten quite swollen and a little painful. At first the piercer told me to twist them when cleaning them. After reading the comments, I’ll stop doing that but I was wondering if that’s what’s making it swollen or if I should see someone before it gets any worse?
Mine did too check to see in the first 48 hours. Personally mine are very swollen from doing that. I had my done 3 days ago and they started I thought it was an infection, but it’s just my ear irritated from the twisting. The swelling went down when I stopped doing that
i got mine done 4 days ago, and for the first day and a half, my left love was fine. Then it started swelling up, getting red, and its a bit painful. There is also a yellow discharge (atleast thats what i think it is). My right piercing is fine, but im freaking out about the other one. Did it all end up working out for u?

Usually cleaning should get rid of infection bumps, keloids aren’t that common and shouldn’t appear and is worst case scenario. Here my tips on how I got my bumps to go away… 1. I avoided taking off and on my mask when I’m outside, the tugging irritates it. 2. Not touching them, especially when you’re outside. 3. Cleaning them at the very least twice a week 4. Changing my earrings to at least stainless steel, anything less will usually irritate ears. 5. If you can buy the right jewellery, yes it can be expensive but it’s worth it! 6. Make a salt mix (mix hot water and Himalayan salt til desolated and apply to area)
I’m really concerned about my ear piercings because every time I put them in or take them out (taking them out especially) they bleed soooo much and it always worries me and has never happened in the past and it’s been happening ever since I changed them for the first time after the 8 weeks I had to wait for
I had this problem and found that after I put 18ct gold earrings in my ears healed up quickly. It's often caused by a reaction to nickel in your earrings. Try high carat gold or titanium.
My helix was pierced almost three weeks ago it didn’t hurt after it just swelled bc I was twisting it I stopped twisting it and now the swelling has gone down
I got my piercing 2 weeks ago and it feels like the swelling wont go down. Sometimes it’s harder too move it. It doesn’t look infected but the ear lobe feels hard when you touch it.
I had mine 2 weeks ago too. It seemed fine after a few days but since yesterday I've been noticing my left ear looking kinda swollen compared to my right ear. Is this bad that the swelling came back? I clean both ears 2x a day 😔

I got my rook pierced and my boyfriend kept knocking It accidentally and now it is painful but doesn't look infected and isn't red just is constantly sore, I don't touch it and have been cleaning it with salt water- is there anything I can do to stop it being painful?
I had the worst experience cuz I had allergy to Nickel in the earrings I used in my newly pierced helix. I never had allergy to any sort of material but these new ones suddenly become allergic. So my piercings bleed for 3 weeks and I had no clue how bad is the condition of my ear. Now after two weeks it's healing gradually, but the skin is still red 🤗
Thats terrible! If your piercer recommended those I would be careful! Good piercers avoid anything that might cause an allergy. A way this can be prevented is by verifying that the jewelry is made of good material and is approved.
@@ok-bm1iy first replace the piercing with steel, nonallergic silver or gold. I used all of them and my ear didn't respond like the initially used one. Wash them with saline solution. My piercer prescribed some sort of cream to prevent infection but it didn't work at all. And beware after all this infection gone you will shed skin like reptiles. It's just crazy how much skin I shed in my ear.

Also when I think I remember I always had a tiny itchy sensation after using fake jewelries (which I'm not sure if they had nickel or so). Also now I'm using a fully steel earrings that has long steel chain that I spin around my piercings. It's easy cuz I can sleep on it and it doesn't bother me at all

I pierced my own helix I know it was dumb but it’s doing great but today it started hurting , not the piercing itself, but behind my ear on my head. It is a bit sore in the piercing but it’s all good.

i'm guessing I had my piercing for over 15, 20 year's I got them when I was a kid. But wanting to get a second ear piercing. I just haven't got the nerve to do it. I'm autistic, and sometimes the idea changing things makes me a little nervous. I'm thinking maybe for my birthday.
this isn't going to be the case for the majority of people BUT! I have heightened sensitivity to certain senses, so for me I felt my piercings in my ears for around a week and a half (it drove me crazy) so just keep in mind if you're sensitive sensory wise, you MAY be able to feel your piercing for longer than your typical person, but that sensation of feeling them in your ears WILL go away after your brain and body adjusts to the change!

I got my ear lobes peirced for a third time 8 days ago (was bad at maintaining first 2 times) still quite sensitive and hurt if I accidentally bump them even a little bit, but still early days 🙂 I'm determined to get these to last then get my seconds done 😂😁
It may be that your piercing is infected or you have hurt it, try not to sleep on it (you can use a travel pillow) and clean it at least twice a day with neutral soap and saline solution.
I'm really grateful, i just got my first Helix (15 years back i got the target earing gun treatment for my lobes) My piercer went over my ear and adjusted where he'd put it in because there was a vein in the original spot. It hurts like hell when i touch it and is still sore a week later, my ear is a little red but i bump it so many times in a day i'm not surprised. no swelling, 0 blood even when he did it. it's all been great so far. but when he said 8 months to heal i was shocked. WHAT i was attacked by a dog and that took 6 WEEKS. WHAT DO YOU MEAN 8 MONTHS BEFORE I CAN EVEN CHANGE JEWLERY!?!?!? Well, next time i go i'm going to see if i can get the other two helix on that side done at the same time because i'm NOT waiting for this one to heal all the way before getting the ones next to it (if my piercer thinks it's a good idea) I want 2 piercings on one lobe, 3 on the other, 2 helix on one side, 3 on the other, and maybe a tragus if i am feeling particularly self loathing one day. Plus my lip, nose and brow. I've waited 20 years to get the piercings i will suffer whatever pain to get them.
I got my upper lobes pierced in February this year. It started to swell and redden after 5 days even after taking all the precautions. I went to a doctor and took some antibiotics. It healed at first and then after a few days it again started to swell. I had studs in my new piercings and it felt like they were cutting off the blood circulation, also they were metal studs. I switched the studs with silver hoops and in few days the swelling started to go down. A month passed and it had healed the swelling and all but out of nowhere my piercings got infected again. Pus started to ooze out and i went to the doctor again. He prescribed me antibiotics and the infection went away in a few days. But now my piercings have started to hurt and swell again. I went to a different doctor and took another round of antibiotics but the swelling is not going down and it feels like the hoops are also irritating my piercings. So i took them out and left them bare. I dont know what to do and am very close to just closing them off. What should I do?

My piercings is gonna be 3 weeks old soon and my mom kept thinking it must be infected because I got it pierced at the mall. However after searching about it and watching this video, I'll talk to her about it and convince her it's not actually infected, more on irritated because I thought you have to twist everytime you clean it, everyday and all. She was gonna have me take them out, hopefully she will change her mind (she's usually assuming things too quickly and pessimistic) and I can keep them, also because I want to get another one soon on my right ear :) P.S thank you for this! ❤️

You’re not the only one on that hoops I’ve had a much easier success, healing a piercing with hoops, rather than studs studs. I just end up having so much complications and my ears try to grow over in the skin tries to go over my piercings and tries to reject it and everything all the time and I get infections and all everything with studs with hoops I don’t my ear just has the proper HR and everything it needs so that it just feels.
It depends if you got your ear pierced on the cartilage then its more expected to throb a bit off and on for few days or so then if it’s just a lobe piercing

hey can anyone help? i recently (6 days ago) got my double piercing in my ear done with a copper wire and the guy just twisted it and left it in like a little hoop. he said to remove it after 1 week. so the one week mark is almost here and idk what to do because 1. i learned that apparantly copper is a rly bad metal for piercing (so does that mean that I should take it out asap at the one week mark and replace it w gold studs?) 2. i also learned that taking out the earrings too early can cause irritation and infection (so should i leave the copper wires in for another week or two?). also here r what my ears have been like the past few days. day 1: constant pain, not rly and blood, i didnt wash it at all. day 2: shootting pain every minute, some black stuff forming in the hole, i didnt wash it at all. day 3: little pain all the time but more when touched, i washed it with water and dried with a towel. day 4: still lots of pain when i touch it and some just in general, notice that when i woke up there was some dried blood on both, washed/picked off the dried blood with just water, one ear was fine, the other ear began Dripping blood after i cleaned it so idk what that was abt. day 5/6: again dried blood, more this time, washed/picked it off with saline nielmed wound wash and a q tip, pain is mostly gone, it doesnt hurt in general unless i press on it or accidentally move the hoops(copper wires). *so the question is, do i remove and replace the copper wires with gold studs tmrw or should i just leave the copper wires in for a couple more days? and if i do replace it, how would i do it as to not irritate or cause infection?*
My daughter got her ears peirced a year and a half ago. We cleaned it and used the drops he gave us, but her ears kept ending up infected and pussing and bleeding in the back no matter what. It was super painful and frustrating. We tried changing metals , switched to hoops like you shared... took her earrings out 6 months ago because it was not worth it. One is completely closed the other only partially. Do we get repeirced?
Got my 2nd and 3rd lobe when I was in highschool and didn't go well for the 2nd time, it got infected.. so I stopped and ACCEPTED it.. it's not for me! So... After 16 years I got a new repierced in the SAME AREA and they're doing good! 🥰🥰🥰 I'm on my 5th month of healing those triple lobe now... And I'm loving it.. I have my short hair now so it won't bother my piercing... regarding after care... I used the gel for 1 week only then I stoped using anything 😂 Then I leave it alone 😂 the artist told me, DON'T TOUCH IT... just LEAVE IT ALONE and it will be ok! The artist said: it will be ok as long as it's NOT INFECTED so your piercing is ok.. 🥰 This year is your HEALING TIME so you CAN TOUCH IT NEXT YEAR! 😂
I had a really badly infected ear so it let it heal completely and just got them redone after 2 years as so far it’s going well and it doesn’t hurt at all
wait at least six weeks before you try to take the them out. in the interim move them around to make sure they don't get stuck (but they might anyway) and then follow her video. if you have an issue getting them off, try a smear of olive oil (after you've cleaned your lobes with a saline solution) on the front and back of your lobes by the butterfly - a bit of a tug and they might come right out. mine did. and they did not hurt at all! i put in new earrrings and then i washed them again with saline solution.... off to bed with happy lobes! her video is amazing!
I got mine Sunday (June 11th) at an expo. A helix piercing on my left ear (I have normal lobe piercing in each ear I think I got when I was like 12) I think the new one is doing pretty well. It feels like pressure right now and maybe a little itchy, but I can ignore it - I've had mosquito bites annoy me much more than this. I keep getting my hair caught just against it, but I have learned how to fix it without too much trouble. My only thing is that the piercer only said to wash with antibacterial soap, he never mentioned saline so I'm not sure if I should go get some saline (or make some) or not.
How am I supposed to wash my ears each day when I wash my face or take a shower? I use face wash or regular body soap to wash my ears everyday like usual, although I try not to clean the area right beside the earrings. Still, the residue can get inside anyways, even if I rinse the earring area. Is this ok?
I just got my earlobes pierced on Monday and on Wednesday I like pulled it on accident while.putting my hair back and Ive been scared that its infected it has alittle bit of pink ish discharge and alittle yellow stuff (not exactly pus idk how to explain it) it's alittle red and a.bit swollen but not hot to the touch and hurts alittle where my piercing is but only when I have to turn them. is that normal? I got my piercing 3 months ago.... It started bringing out pus earlier this month, I used salt water on it daily and then it stopped..... Now the wounds are more fresh. I tried taking the earrings out yesterday and I noticed that there was something attaching the hook of my stud earrings and my piercing so I had to forcefully pull it out and it started bleeding again. I got my lobe ear piercings yesterday at about 6pm. my left ear stopped hurting in about 40 minutes while my right ear was hurting till 10 pm and when I got to bed it stopped and yeah it doesn't hurt now.

@@davedurosier They healed up perfectly. During the healing process, I just avoided touching them, used H2Ocean after my showers. I took 2 showers a day, one in the morning, one at night. Finally, I waited around 9 weeks to finally switch out my earrings.
My rook is almost 2 months and my double helix is 9 months, and they are opposite of each other so my airplane pillow comes in very handy when sleeping. So far my piercings are doing well

@@d3adphoenix864 well firstly I got my double helix done with hoops cuz I was still new with cartilage so I didnt know, butI think I did have swelling but wasn't noticeable because I didnt have bars like you do. Also over a year later 1 of mine still has a bump from accidentally sleeping on it so I'd recommend you be very careful if you want it to heal nicely

It’s normal for the piercings to be tender for the first days or two weeks it’s adjusting it’s something foreign to the body. My left Tragus is itchy and my right isn’t much lol 😂

Hello! I’m not Christine but I just wanted to say when trying to find a reputable piercing place opt for a place that uses needles and not guns. Guns can shatter your cartilage as they use blunt force to shove earring through your ear. Piercing guns are also more prone to infection because it’s impossible to sanitize a piercing gun. Finally decided to get my lobes pierced after delaying it for some time. I got them done Saturday night around 6:30. They don't hurt. The pain was gone the same night when I got them pierced. I went to Walmart and bought the NeilMed Wound Wash Sterile Saline Solution spray. I used it twice yesterday and did my first cleaning for today. They still look a little red and swollen. Which I assume is normal since it literally just got them done. I sleep on my back. Make sure I'm really careful with them. However, I did notice on the right side when I go to pat dry really gently after using the saline solution there was tiny almost unrecognizable bits of blood. Other than that I love my piercings and cant wait to take this jewelry out for the one I really want.

Remember: if u did the piercing earlier this same day and its throbbing, chances are your hair got caught on it and irritated. It doesnt instantly mean its infected. (Its me, I may be delulu, but i genuinely believe it is natural for it to hurt after a strand of my hair just got caught on it
I’ve had my 3rd ear piercings about a week ago, and whenever I lie on a pillow sideways, they push back so when I wake up they’re stuck and I have to push them back through again, its like the whole stud just goes through my ear..
Maybe the stud is too small? This is why I don't like 2mm studs because they can go right through your ear.

Finally someone mentioned itching because I'm feeling it. My helix started swelling 3 days after piercing but its not serious temperature is cool and its not red just showing bruising. The first day it was just red. I have been cleaning 2 a day, I'm praying the swelling goes down after two days 🙏.
I think it's angry because the back was slightly poked during cleaning 😅.

My first ear piercing is 56 years old! My second holes are 45 years old. I did the first ones myself. They are fine. (to this day) My seconds I got done at Claire's with a gun. They also turned out fine. I let them go back together & I just opened them back up. One of them the earring went right through, but the other one I had to reopen , because the back of it closed up. But for the most part, the piercing is still there. I was able to put in earrings. Only the one needs to re-heal. I can't stand studs, so I put hoops in them. When I pierced the first holes, I put in hoops .after a few days with thread in them from the needle I pierced them with. Back in the day, that's how it was done. They didn't have Claire's in the Mall for probably another 10 or 15 years. I burned the end of the needle & then cleaned it with alcohol. I tried the H@ Ocean & didn't really like it .It didn't feel good like alcohol. I like alcohol better. It feels so good when I put it on & it does really work good for me. So, What ever works best for the individual, I say.
My ear is always hot to touch in the first week after a new piercing no matter where I go, which is weird. They healed fine but for every piercing I went to a different place and still got some slight throbbing and hot feeling for each one. Maybe that's just what's normal for me, because my newest one is only a week old and it just stopped feeling hot a few days ago, but the place I went was super sanitary and used implant grade titanium.

When healing your piercings, use either stainless steel or titanium because they keep from retaining moisture.
Generally, don’t remove your piercing(s) in 4 weeks, in order for it to heal a bit. Even the 4 week mark you can change piercings to smaller rings because swelling is less likely to show up, don’t let your piercings stay without something in them because they can heal over the holes and you’ll have to re-pierce them.
Generally, the 3 month mark is recommended to be healed but it can be longer, like 6 months to a year.
@@barhoque okay thank u so much! i switched them to sterling silver studs and they’re doing sm better than the sus copper wire. i haven’t been applying the saline so they’re still a little not healed and i was worried but heating u say 3-6 months helps

I got my ears pierced like three weeks ago and the pain went away in like fifteen minutes- this was the second time after I got them done with a gun at Claire’s and them getting infected, so I waited like seven years. This time I got it done with a needle and feels like nothing compared to the gun :)
But- I went to clean it today and when I put the cleaner they gave me, my piercing just got enveloped in puss so now I’m terrified but am too scared to call the people who did this for me

I recently got my second holes in my ears done two weeks ago. And I was really concerned this past weekend when I woke up and saw my earring receding into its hole. So I took it out and put it back in and it hurt so bad! But I toughed it out. It’s better now. The top part of the hole is just a little bit split I guess 🥴. But the bottom is fine. It really helpful that you said they heal from the inside out and that sleeping on a certain ear irritates it’s more! Thank you for the informative videos!

My first and probably last piercing is earrings, they are about a month old. It started bleeding today and it got stuck, hopefully this video helps with my problem

Got my doubles done 2 days ago but my left ear has gotten quite swollen and a little painful. At first the piercer told me to twist them when cleaning them. After reading the comments, I’ll stop doing that but I was wondering if that’s what’s making it swollen or if I should see someone before it gets any worse?

Mine did too check to see in the first 48 hours. Personally mine are very swollen from doing that. I had my done 3 days ago and they started I thought it was an infection, but it’s just my ear irritated from the twisting. The swelling went down when I stopped doing that

Usually cleaning should get rid of infection bumps, keloids aren’t that common and shouldn’t appear and is worst case scenario.
Here my tips on how I got my bumps to go away…
1. I avoided taking off and on my mask when I’m outside, the tugging irritates it.
2. Not touching them, especially when you’re outside.
3. Cleaning them at the very least twice a week
4. Changing my earrings to at least stainless steel, anything less will usually irritate ears.
5. If you can buy the right jewellery, yes it can be expensive but it’s worth it!
6. Make a salt mix (mix hot water and Himalayan salt til desolated and apply to area)

I had this problem and found that after I put 18ct gold earrings in my ears healed up quickly. It's often caused by a reaction to nickel in your earrings. Try high carat gold or titanium.
Use silver, it healed my helixes within hours … the oozing and crusting stopped overnight
My helix was pierced almost three weeks ago it didn’t hurt after it just swelled bc I was twisting it I stopped twisting it and now the swelling has gone down
I changed the jewellery and honestly it healed faster (I changed it to a hoop) try not to use cheap stuff because that could’ve irritated it.
I got my piercing 2 weeks ago and it feels like the swelling wont go down. Sometimes it’s harder too move it. It doesn’t look infected but the ear lobe feels hard when you touch it.

I had mine 2 weeks ago too. It seemed fine after a few days but since yesterday I've been noticing my left ear looking kinda swollen compared to my right ear. Is this bad that the swelling came back? I clean both ears 2x a day 😔

I got my rook pierced and my boyfriend kept knocking It accidentally and now it is painful but doesn't look infected and isn't red just is constantly sore, I don't touch it and have been cleaning it with salt water- is there anything I can do to stop it being painful?
I had the worst experience cuz I had allergy to Nickel in the earrings I used in my newly pierced helix. I never had allergy to any sort of material but these new ones suddenly become allergic. So my piercings bleed for 3 weeks and I had no clue how bad is the condition of my ear. Now after two weeks it's healing gradually, but the skin is still red 🤗
Thats terrible! If your piercer recommended those I would be careful! Good piercers avoid anything that might cause an allergy. A way this can be prevented is by verifying that the jewelry is made of good material and is approved.

@@ok-bm1iy first replace the piercing with steel, nonallergic silver or gold. I used all of them and my ear didn't respond like the initially used one. Wash them with saline solution. My piercer prescribed some sort of cream to prevent infection but it didn't work at all.
And beware after all this infection gone you will shed skin like reptiles. It's just crazy how much skin I shed in my ear.

Also when I think I remember I always had a tiny itchy sensation after using fake jewelries (which I'm not sure if they had nickel or so). Also now I'm using a fully steel earrings that has long steel chain that I spin around my piercings. It's easy cuz I can sleep on it and it doesn't bother me at all
Just got mine done last night both earlobes. Just standard earlobe piercings. About how long should I wait for switching them to the hoops I bought? They have the curved bar.

I pierced my own helix I know it was dumb but it’s doing great but today it started hurting , not the piercing itself, but behind my ear on my head. It is a bit sore in the piercing but it’s all good.
SAME HERE I feel like it might be a bit swollen in the back but I can’t tell. If u find a way to ease the pain do let me know please

i'm guessing I had my piercing for over 15, 20 year's I got them when I was a kid. But wanting to get a second ear piercing. I just haven't got the nerve to do it. I'm autistic, and sometimes the idea changing things makes me a little nervous.

this isn't going to be the case for the majority of people BUT! I have heightened sensitivity to certain senses, so for me I felt my piercings in my ears for around a week and a half (it drove me crazy) so just keep in mind if you're sensitive sensory wise, you MAY be able to feel your piercing for longer than your typical person, but that sensation of feeling them in your ears WILL go away after your brain and body adjusts to the change!

hey can anyone help? i recently (6 days ago) got my double piercing in my ear done with a copper wire and the guy just twisted it and left it in like a little hoop. he said to remove it after 1 week. so the one week mark is almost here and idk what to do because 1. i learned that apparantly copper is a rly bad metal for piercing (so does that mean that I should take it out asap at the one week mark and replace it w gold studs?) 2. i also learned that taking out the earrings too early can cause irritation and infection (so should i leave the copper wires in for another week or two?). also here r what my ears have been like the past few days. day 1: constant pain, not rly and blood, i didnt wash it at all. day 2: shootting pain every minute, some black stuff forming in the hole, i didnt wash it at all. day 3: little pain all the time but more when touched, i washed it with water and dried with a towel. day 4: still lots of pain when i touch it and some just in general, notice that when i woke up there was some dried blood on both, washed/picked off the dried blood with just water, one ear was fine, the other ear began Dripping blood after i cleaned it so idk what that was abt. day 5/6: again dried blood, more this time, washed/picked it off with saline nielmed wound wash and a q tip, pain is mostly gone, it doesnt hurt in general unless i press on it or accidentally move the hoops(copper wires).

I pierced my ears for the first time yesterday at my 13 !!
I got my ear lobes peirced for a third time 8 days ago (was bad at maintaining first 2 times) still quite sensitive and hurt if I accidentally bump them even a little bit, but still early days 🙂 I'm determined to get these to last then get my seconds done 😂😁

It may be that your piercing is infected or you have hurt it, try not to sleep on it (you can use a travel pillow) and clean it at least twice a day with neutral soap and saline solution.

I'm really grateful, i just got my first Helix (15 years back i got the target earing gun treatment for my lobes) My piercer went over my ear and adjusted where he'd put it in because there was a vein in the original spot. It hurts like hell when i touch it and is still sore a week later, my ear is a little red but i bump it so many times in a day i'm not surprised. no swelling, 0 blood even when he did it. it's all been great so far. but when he said 8 months to heal i was shocked. WHAT i was attacked by a dog and that took 6 WEEKS.

I want 2 piercings on one lobe, 3 on the other, 2 helix on one side, 3 on the other, and maybe a tragus if i am feeling particularly self loathing one day. Plus my lip, nose and brow.

I got my upper lobes pierced in February this year. It started to swell and redden after 5 days even after taking all the precautions. I went to a doctor and took some antibiotics. It healed at first and then after a few days it again started to swell. I had studs in my new piercings and it felt like they were cutting off the blood circulation, also they were metal studs. I switched the studs with silver hoops and in few days the swelling started to go down. A month passed and it had healed the swelling and all but out of nowhere my piercings got infected again. Pus started to ooze out and i went to the doctor again. He prescribed me antibiotics and the infection went away in a few days. But now my piercings have started to hurt and swell again. I went to a different doctor and took another round of antibiotics but the swelling is not going down and it feels like the hoops are also irritating my piercings. So i took them out and left them bare. I dont know what to do and am very close to just closing them off. What should I do?

@@yours1ana try applying an antibiotic cream on your piercings and let the wound heal then take out the wires.

My piercings is gonna be 3 weeks old soon and my mom kept thinking it must be infected because I got it pierced at the mall. However after searching about it and watching this video, I'll talk to her about it and convince her it's not actually infected, more on irritated because I thought you have to twist everytime you clean it, everyday and all. She was gonna have me take them out, hopefully she will change her mind (she's usually assuming things too quickly and pessimistic) and I can keep them, also because I want to get another one soon on my right ear :)

You’re not the only one on that hoops I’ve had a much easier success, healing a piercing with hoops, rather than studs studs. I just end up having so much complications and my ears try to grow over in the skin tries to go over my piercings and tries to reject it and everything all the time and I get infections and all everything with studs with hoops I don’t my ear just has the proper HR and everything it needs so that it just feels.
My piercing is really dry to the point where it’s flaky is this normal ????

It depends if you got your ear pierced on the cartilage then its more expected to throb a bit off and on for few days or so then if it’s just a lobe piercing

My daughter got her ears peirced a year and a half ago. We cleaned it and used the drops he gave us, but her ears kept ending up infected and pussing and bleeding in the back no matter what. It was super painful and frustrating. We tried changing metals , switched to hoops like you shared... took her earrings out 6 months ago because it was not worth it. One is completely closed the other only partially. Do we get repeirced?
Got my 2nd and 3rd lobe when I was in highschool and didn't go well for the 2nd time, it got infected.. so I stopped and ACCEPTED it.. it's not for me! So...
After 16 years I got a new repierced in the SAME AREA and they're doing good! 🥰🥰🥰 I'm on my 5th month of healing those triple lobe now... And I'm loving it..

I had a really badly infected ear so it let it heal completely and just got them redone after 2 years as so far it’s going well and it doesn’t hurt at all

wait at least six weeks before you try to take the them out. in the interim move them around to make sure they don't get stuck (but they might anyway) and then follow her video. if you have an issue getting them off, try a smear of olive oil (after you've cleaned your lobes with a saline solution) on the front and back of your lobes by the butterfly - a bit of a tug and they might come right out. mine did. and they did not hurt at all! i put in new earrrings and then i washed them again with saline solution.... off to bed with happy lobes! her video is amazing!

I got mine Sunday (June 11th) at an expo. A helix piercing on my left ear (I have normal lobe piercing in each ear I think I got when I was like 12) I think the new one is doing pretty well. It feels like pressure right now and maybe a little itchy, but I can ignore it - I've had mosquito bites annoy me much more than this.
I keep getting my hair caught just against it, but I have learned how to fix it without too much trouble.
My only thing is that the piercer only said to wash with antibacterial soap, he never mentioned saline so I'm not sure if I should go get some saline (or make some) or not.
How am I supposed to wash my ears each day when I wash my face or take a shower? I use face wash or regular body soap to wash my ears everyday like usual, although I try not to clean the area right beside the earrings. Still, the residue can get inside anyways, even if I rinse the earring area. Is this ok?

I just got my earlobes pierced on Monday and on Wednesday I like pulled it on accident while.putting my hair back and Ive been scared that its infected it has alittle bit of pink ish discharge and alittle yellow stuff (not exactly pus idk how to explain it) it's alittle red and a.bit swollen but not hot to the touch and hurts alittle where my piercing is but only when I have to turn them. is that normal? (p.s. I've been cleaning them as.much as I'm supposed to) I've never.gotten a piercing and I'm really scared that it's infected

I got my piercing 3 months ago.... It started bringing out pus earlier this month, I used salt water on it daily and then it stopped..... Now the wounds are more fresh. I tried taking the earrings out yesterday and I noticed that there was something attaching the hook of my stud earrings and my piercing so I had to forcefully pull it out and it started bleeding again. Lobe piercings stay in 4-6 weeks and cartilage and most other piercings are 8-12 weeks.

I got my lobe ear piercings yesterday at about 6pm. my left ear stopped hurting in about 40 minutes while my right ear was hurting till 10 pm and when I got to bed it stopped and yeah it doesn't hurt now.
