  • Today is Sunday and we are headed across eastern Iowa to Illinois before the last leg of our journey and an appointment scheduled for Tuesday morning in Indiana. Watch the end of the movie to find out why we have taken such an obtuse route from Colorado to get back to our home in north Georgia. Our destination today is a nice little campground along Peoria Lake which is just the name of a wide stretch of the Illinois River separating Peoria from East Peoria. We enjoy the scenery and ambiance of the campground, get our laundry done and catch up with internet. We have a full hook-up site so our tanks get dumped as well. We have a healthy dinner and spend a quiet night. Tomorrow ends a stressful time that brings an early end to our Colorado adventure to a close.

I find all road trips fun :-) I'm slowly learning that the ones in July and August are just too hot to deal with though :-) You might also enjoy my Barber Motorcycle Museum video ... it's one of the best on You Tube in my opinion. Also my buddy's vintage racing from NOLA Motorsports Park :-)

@@mortenthenorwegian2875 We appreciate your enthusiasm. We are on our 5th truck camper now and have learned a lot ourselves also. The Canada 2017 Playlist has a lot of TC videos with one of our previous truck campers as does the Wintering in Florida Playlist with yet another different truck camper.

Cute little campground but still to close for comfort...😁 . Laundry facility looked really clean with new machines. I really liked those sites next to the lake , I enjoy being by the water . Glad they fixed Serenity without y'all having to wait a few days for it to get done .

We had to have electric hook-up to run our A/C (still heat wave conditions) and this place was only $22 and ideally located along our route .... that's why it was chosen. We discovered some issues immediately after getting Serenity home when we bought her last March. The Travel Lite factory was nice enough to make the repairs for us but it involved us driving it back to the factory in northern Indiana which was 750 miles each way. So 1500 miles to drop it off and then 8 weeks later, another 1500 miles to pick it up. That 3000 mile journey really cut into our Colorado trip budget. Diverting for this one last small repair was worth it considering the alternative. They have been super nice and helpful. In the end we got a completely rebuilt camper that is much better than one coming off the production line so we couldn't be happier :-)
