World-famous painter David Hockney inspired painters with a major discovery that made you look at paintings differently. When the Dutch painter Pieter Athmer discovered that Hockney was moving to live in Normandy, his great inspirator was suddenly close by. He decided to create a special painting with which he hoped to meet the man who changed the way he viewed his life. His good friend, director Gerardjan Rijnders, immediately saw a documentary in it and together they left with that surprise on a road trip from Amsterdam to Hockney in Normandy.
