Another tip i would like to share. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrapuntal_motion. Make chord inversions to be able to achieve different kinds of Contrapuntal motion. Contrary motion would be the most popular i assume.
Purple lines has indentical chords as the start of the verse from Seal's "Kiss from a Rose", heck it's in the same key. Very unique sounding. It's in G-major with Eb and F being borrowed chords from the relative minor key (G-min), so it's I - bVI - bVII - I , also know as the "Mario" cadence due to it's use in those games. Nice job!

I imagine he sits down in front of piano and improvises..comes up with an idea and then transforms that idea into electronic sounds. His sound design skill are amazing 🙂
