Another tip i would like to share. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrapuntal_motion. Make chord inversions to be able to achieve different kinds of Contrapuntal motion. Contrary motion would be the most popular i assume.

Purple lines has indentical chords as the start of the verse from Seal's "Kiss from a Rose", heck it's in the same key. Very unique sounding. It's in G-major with Eb and F being borrowed chords from the relative minor key (G-min), so it's I - bVI - bVII - I , also know as the "Mario" cadence due to it's use in those games. Nice job!

Another great video, thanks! Depending on the knowledge level you're aiming these tutorials for, you could also show/mention the roman numerals that correspond to the chords. ie Dmin Bb F Gmin = i VI(b) III iv

Thanks again monkie and a great idea I will incorporate it in future videos :).

Hey Uros, cool video, I like the relaxed vibe and the analyses of Ben Bohmer's sound - because it is really something unique.
How did you get the songs into ableton? Are the projects free to download?

Hey Jacob thanks man, I was actually quite nervous when I made this video now I am bit more used to the camera. I just dragged and dropped them, what do you need Midi files?

Great tutorial dude! Love Ben Bohmer's music and i'm always looking for tips and tricks to get my sound a little closer to his and hopefully become a better producer along the way in general. His music has such a powerful quality to it - really makes your hairs stand on those big drops. Must be the classical background I think perhaps, he seems like he's probably a really good pianist. 🎹
Look forward to more content from you 😎.

Hey Chris, thanks! Yeah I will post more Ben content soon and yeah you are right he is special. And like you said he is probably good pianist. I imagine he sits down in front of piano and improvises..comes up with an idea and then transforms that idea into electronic sounds. His sound design skill are amazing 🙂
