They way I’ve always had it explained to me is that if you go too far down on your adjustment you will take load off the back tires and they will break loose. So basically only move them down far enough to eliminate wheelies and keep as much pressure on the back tires.
absolutely, you want to be as close to wheelieing as you can to keep that weight transfer back, at least on a surface like that

Kind of surprised Doug doesn't wear a firesuit and some arm restraints. Especially as he starts going faster and faster. All its going to take is car getting sideways and could be a pretty violent barrel roll resulting in hand/arm injuries with not having a roof or window nets. That being said I'm stoked to see the suspension modifications are working to be able to dial it in.

On Frank's clapped out X3, the toe needs to be corrected with the Shock Therapy Bump Steer Delete package. Those front tires toe in horrible when the weight comes off of them.

instant center the farther out in front of the front of car changes the fulcrum point so harder to pick up front end. think of a lever and its advantage it has. but at a certain point ya will lose weight transfer and traction.
I know this is all hindsight since all of this already happened but I feel like they should try one more hole up (and maybe they did) to try to regain a little traction.

I do not know much about rear suspension set up. I think having the bars parallel with the racing surface will work well. maybe not all the way down, but one spot up. It is all about testing to see what works best.
I was thinking the same thing, I'm also not super experienced with setting up a chassis or suspension, but I'm just thinking with logic, if it was just as easy as forcing the car down then thats what everyobe would do, but it seems there is a balance...
Having the suspension ram you fully to the ground without any front lift, to my understanding would effect your launch, because you want the suspension to have room to seperate to be able to harness that kinetic energy
I'm not sure about drag specific set ups, but I've been around other types of race cars while they were being built and then tested. I learned real quick that logical thinking about the setup is sometimes completely backwards to the actual reality. It's very cool to be at a test session though and actually get explanations for why you do this when logic would tell you to do something else.

2jp is a beast can't wait to see what it's full potential can be, you need to have a jump like that on your course back at your shop as well or separate to practice on jumping your side by sides.

Cage needs diagonal in roof or X to complete like box with out a top . Cage looks awesome you are a craftsman keep up the great work
Need to take some rebound out of the rear shocks. The rear is squatting and then the tire comes up and wheel speed increases a lot. A driveshaft sensor and wheel speed sensor would show you the problem. The rear tire is not staying planted.
I agree completely, definitely unloading the rear badly. Current shocks have no more adjustment, need an upgrade

move the arm down 1 hole at a time from the top till it wont wheelie then you got it changing too many things at once or drastic changes seems counter productive.

Add a little weight to the front. Move the bars up a hole to hook. Honestly, I'd bring it up a hole until it wheelies then just drop 1. You want as much bite as possible without too much wheelie. I'm afraid at the bottom, its causing it to spin more than hook.

Looking good boys !!!!! Need to play with tire pressures as well not just suspension. With my racing back ground you adjust one thing it changes another. Also put that car on some good racing scales and I bet you will see why it keeps going left. ( try and use smooth tires for this if all possible)

Let's see some shots of 2jp rear suspension working when its doing a hit. That thing is a beast!
I would think the trailing arms all the way down increases the wheelbase slightly, preventing wheelies.
More weight transfer mean more traction so there's definitely got to be a point of where you want the traction but not the wheely so up each hole an find that point
2J is a beast with attitude! I love how it can hook so hard, without actually hooking up at all.

2JZ still pulls left. Check you rear trailing arms for dogwalk. Shorted the right side a thread or two.
Ain’t got length adjustment on the arms, straightened it out with weight distribution through preload and sway bar
with the mount being higher , it makes the diff want to push under the car inducing a wheelie , you want the control arms to be flat imo ,
Transfer weight to the front if you go up on your trailer arms.
Just going to have to put a weight box in the front of 2jp. Then put a moon tune in er with 180lbs in the front and send er!!
Would love to see you guys put a large bounty on 2jp for any other sxs to take it down. Really push people to build sxs crazier then ever
