Definently a step in the right direction. Still think with the amount of cards in the game that duplicates shouldn't even be an option in the 4th spot.
It's a small step, but we are still bleeding out. It's actually a simple fix without changing the cache system. Just introduce packs, give us 4 cards per pack, and limit us to 10 pack openings a day. The packs are weighted with series 3 cards 3 of them out of the 4 cards, the 4th card is guaranteed to be either series 4 or 5. Repeat series 3 cards result in 10 credits each 300 a day 2100 a week. Series 4 repeated cards gives us 25 tokens or 250 a day or 1750 tokens a week. Series 5 repeated cards gives us 50 tokens or 500 a day(will never get 10 in 1 day from drop rates) and 3500 maximum a week. This won't kill the cache system or make it easy to aquire but will make it easier to spend Tokens on cards you missed. I suspect this would give everyone around 2 cache openings a week.
3.3K CL here, been playing for about 4 months now. I personally love the grind and the randomness, having to figure out the best deck I can make at every step of the way has been fun so far. It's probably not fun after being done with series 3 though so I'm glad they increased how many tokens a duplicate gives. I think we're in a decent spot now honestly things could be way worse, coming from a gacha/tcg player
Happy to hear this is being addressed. I hope it keeps the player base growing. I love this game, I've been free to play since launch, but once I made series 3 complete it felt like a better ftp game, and less of a slog.
This is great news! Thanks for the update, Glazer! And, listen, you've convinced me. Galacta was great, card acquisition got better, and we have the best card game ever. From now on I'm getting the season pass every month.
Literally just got back into the game last season and hit infinite for the first time! After the initial euphoria wore off though, I realized how woefully unprepared I was for the meta cards that I didn't even know existed( I hate Red Guardian). I was concerned about catching up in pool 3 cards but here you guys come with the good news. Now I just need to get in on the season passes 👀
Happy for those that are still in the Series 3 grind and definitely excited about the doubled tokens on dups. Just finished my Series 3 grind about 2-3 months ago and it took me about 5 months after coming back to the game in April after having stopped playing back in the Ghost Spider season. It's been a grind but buying the Season Pass monthly, the Gold Pass, and occasional great value bundles since May has gotten me to 86% completion
how do I feel about the changes? well, it's a decent enough start. and since it *is* a start, I won't judge it as I there won't be any further changes. and I think it's decent cos i3 of the changes is actually better than what's been on my wishlist, which is increasing the tokens for a duplicate in the mystery spotlight card spot; I wanted 1500 tokens for series 4 and 3000 tokens for series 5 cards. 2000 is better in the long run since the duplicates are slanted more towards series 4. along with that I would've liked a *guaranteed* series 5 card in every new card set to prevent instances of card sets being mostly series 4, as has been the norm lately. in fact, there's no reason the couldn't add 1 more slot for FIVE cards weekly, since the card pool has grown so much, and the rate of new cards being added is only going up. I'm hoping future changes will focus more on older players, since these ones seem mostly focused on the new player experience
Changes are pretty good. As a person who has several friends also playing this game, I'm glad they won't need to go through the same suffering I did during my mid s3 journey. These changes also make me hopeful for card acquisition changes to come
Thank you for guiding the community, much appreciated. I like the new change but a bit late as I am 3 cards away from series 3 completion. At lvl 4873, I have no venom which means my destroy deck is low on win rate… they do sell it for $15 for Venom or $99 for venom and dagger…. Jeez I am hoping I can get my venom soon But I am happy to get my doom 2099 on second key. A season pass would be very helpful 😊😊😊
These changes feel like a good first step. The only one that directly impacts me is more tokens in spotlights which feels fair. I wonder if they'll boost the number of tokens from filling the variant track in the shop.
Definitely a win for newer players. As a veteran, 2,000 tokens is nice but duplicate protection or the cost of a series 3 card is really the only change to the current system I’d be excited about. There’s so many series 5 cards being added that having a spotlight cache rolling half the cost of one seems fair
Those are really good news, any improvement to obtain cards will make you feel better about the game, the game itself has it all to be great, but difficult is to get cards to play at high level, that improvement about tokens in spotlight cache is something to appreciate, I know everybody recommends to open when you have at least 4 keys but, for example I had 3 last week and wanted very much Peni and risked my 3 keys and got the 2 4s and a repeated red hulk, not even one a tier 4 I didn´t have but a repeated one, so that is crappy system no doubt
Hope this turns around the player sentiment and at least sounds like a big help for new or returning players. I am still surprised there isn't dupe protection and think it should be 3000 tokens as the fourth bucket.
I’m optimistic. I want the game to become better, and enjoy it more. Having to optimize and schedule my keys isn’t the best feeling but I’m glad they’ve shared a bit about their plans.
Thumbs up for the changes (series 3 ones especially since it will help new players greatly). Tbh even with a bit more tokens I don`t think it will help with targeting cards/decks all that much. Would love if they just add a option to choose one of the cards in spotlight week caches. Example this week could look like this Doom2099(new card)/Daken(s4 card)/Random/Select/ any card u want (other than the current season pass). I know we won`t get anything near that but still nice to think about.
Hi Glazer! 😊 Thanks for the video as always! I think that this is a good change for people who needs the series 3 cards, to me (i have almost 30 cards missing) it's an ok change. Have a nice day! 😊
It's definitely an improvement, but would really like to see a more definitive plan that prioritizes acquisition + player agency for all players, while still offering up quality cosmetics (variants, accessories, customizations, bundles, etc) for the folks who want to spend money on supplementary content that continues to help finance the game.
Holy hell; what’s bigger news than the news itself is that SD decided to actually say something before next year (also didn’t realize Griffin was their PR person…I’ve been saying and feeling this month that they had no PR person ..
Like they say it themselves, these changes are just a band-aid fix, but it helps new players to catch up faster, which is primordial for SD to bring and retain new players. Let's hope we say more for new cards acquisition.
as im in my seriers 3 grind this is good news for newer players like myself to speed up my progression makes me put faith in SD again plus 2k tokens for dupes is much better look its not perfect the update wont help every1 like the veteran players as much but atleast this is somewhat steps in the right direction well done i say altho the spotlights will for now still remain a problem
What I don’t understand is why not release the mystery slot token increase NOW (or via the OTA just happened)..? It’s great they told us since it feels like changing anything in the game takes “time”, but seriously, getting those 1k token pulls for 3-4 weeks worth before they actually change it doesn’t feel good at all…odd they seem unable to change something so simple like that a bit faster; leaves players with an awkward month of deliberate feels bad 1k pulls. Just sorta surprised they didn’t do that this month and unclear how complex changing the token draw would have been but glad they decided to literally do some PR this month 👌😅 .
Glad SD is finally listening to feedback and improving the card acquisition system. These changes don’t completely solve all the issues but it’s a step in the right direction.
Acknowledging the problem and making meaningful changes to mitigate it while admitting that this is just a band-aid that doesn't outright fix the problem is way more than I expected out of this company, especially during their vacation. Genuinely the first bright spot in playing this game in a long time.
Curious about your guesses, mostly cause I’m surprised you think they’ll be dropping Corvus but not Proxima like I was hoping; they came out next to each other and both discard stuff - but I’m gathering because Corvus never found a solid home compared to Proxima (though Proxima doesn’t feel like that S5 mega stick either so yeah I guess I’m surprised even from your guesses she’ll be staying and Corvus won’t).
The only change that affects me is the ammount of tokens given on already owned cards. The other changes seem good for low CL players who are still completing series 3. Overall it seems like not that much of a change for more advanced players that are past series 3. Oh well, better than nothing at least. They should bring the card on caches back, that would help in card acquisition and it wouldn't hurt anyone. Because this spotlight sytem is good if you luck out, but if you spend 3 to 4 keys to get every single new card, then it's such a bad experience...
The changes are significant but i had hoped they would do something to address the duplicates we keep getting, like reducing the drop rates for cards you already own. But at least theyre doing something but its already too late imo. This couldve been done like 6 months ago and now they've lost a lot of the players
I'm sorry, this bangs, 3 misses for a new S5 instead of 6 changes the math in a way that can't be overstated. It took me 6 months of buying season passes to get to the point where I can reasonably build most meta decks. I'm willing to bet that got cut significantly for new players now
As for the question - hey good on them! Glad they're addressing it. If their card acquisition isn't abysmal, given how good the gameplay is, the game would be untouchable by competition IMO.
Unfortunately, I don’t care. I am 3 cards short of a full collection having played since launch , and I could buy them but choose not to. My CL is about 25,000 and I have huge numbers of keys and tokens. This change is for those who haven’t whaled out like me and I do like it for that. I hope it makes Snap better for longevity so I can continue to play snap for many years to come.
And key SHOULD be at least at 96 points in collection level and should be 1. New card 2. Series 5 card 3. Series 4 card 4 Randomness: 50% change of a new card 50% change of a card that you own, as an example a series 4 card would be 1500 tokens and series 5 card will get you 2500 tokens(almost a half but not half cause, well, go grind, go snap)
Thank you for being positive about this change. I watched another content creator and they went on a negative rant, which is the opposite of what we need right now.
I’m so glad they’re finally addressing this. The game was started to feel like a job and I was ready to quit, but now it’s starting to feel like a game again. I’m no longer Sisyphus pushing a rock up a mountain that I know I’ll never reach the peak of, there is a light at the end of the tunnel 😭😭😭
To answer the Season Pass giveaway question: I think this is great, especially if you buy a season pass. Seems like you can catch up relatively quickly vs the current state of affairs. But as a F2P players... I'll get more tokens for duplicates, but right now I didn't see a huge amount of help. And seperate question - is there any video on like a "suggestions for use of borders"? I have never touched the custom card thing as you only get X number of free borders and they seem to be 1x uses so it sounds like you have to be careful what card you pick to customize. Just didn't know if there was a "How to" or "Beware things are locked in after X step" kind of video out there.
I can bet with you Glazer on a season pass that they will not dropping Cassandra and white widow. I think that Cassandra works excelent as a counter for Arishem decks and a lot of people didn t grind for her so they’ll keep it for 6k tokens or even sell a 75$ bundle with 2k credits and a border. With Widow soon will get a buff, maybe a -3 and destroy after a turn, just like thena..
Since I am only a few cards away from complete, the 2000 tokens will be helpful. I think I will buy 2099 with tokens and wait to use any keys until the patch (none of the recurring cards are on my incomplete list). I think that a season pass player should be able to get to collection complete when every card released is intended to be playable. I have been a season pass player since Nov 2022 and still am missing pieces. I've done 99% of my daily missions, mostly optimize my spending.
Really sad because I just got 1000 tokens from opening for Doom 2099, wish they implemented this change with his release lol... But overall, makes me super happy and optimistic for the future. Snap is my favorite game, I don't want it to die.
As someone new love the speed up in s3. Seems pretty positive overall to me. Do we know if the increased rate in s3 in gonna count with unopened reserves? Would like to continue to split cards and just save caches if that`s the case.
Question about the Breen artist deal, is it worth it if we have the gold (I also got the Shadow King one, I'd been saving)? It seems as good as Token Tuesday but the short said you don't reccomend buying, I was a bit confused. And I guess the follow up question, if I were to get it, does it make sense to use 6000 tokens on doom 2099 or save and wait for Hydra Bob? I guess I can wait for the Doom review tomorrow, but given how bad the cache is, it seems like if Doom is worth it, it's a case where tokens > keys.
This is definitely good but still a stopgap measure. Not sure if it's possible to completely fix all the problems under this current system, but I am hopeful.
1K tokens to 2K tokens on dupes is nice. But still not nearly enough. 3K should be the minimum, if they really wanted to make it a good system they'd just prioritize giving us new cards in the random slot instead of dupes. And they need to double the tokens from caches from 100 to 200. Hell, again, 200 isn't even really enough. And just flatly remove the gold tickets from them. So we can get currency more often instead of trash. The changes aren't THAT big, but it's a nice step tbh. With that said, it does say the changes are band-aid fixes for the short term. So I am definitely optimistic that substantial changes will come later when they have more time to cook. 2K tokens is just flatly not enough for a key that requires 6K credits to get. I am glad they made changes to S3 though, this change allows for them to series drop to S3 more comfortably. The S3 grind would have been decimated if they series dropped a meaningful amount of cards to S3. But doubling the frequency of getting S3 cards is chef's kiss. This change is a precursor to hopefully better series drops.
These changes seem legit and great for players, but as they say, it's just a Band-Aid; fingers crossed for something awesome in the works! I'm just happy that I'll get series 3 complete all that sooner
As they stated its a band-aid patch. I wish we got this this month, but better than nothing. If January shows no promise, honestly will drop or lower playtime. This is good for new players and series 3 incomplete. But for those of us that have been day 1 or series complete, it doesn't do too much. Theres so much top heavy bloat, just remove or lower the rate of duplicates please. Every cache that I've had to do up to 4 caches, I got the same duplicate series 4, 3 times in a row. That is some BS RNG! I honestly would like a retropay of the duplicate tokens as an apology, I won't hold my breath, but that would help the pain of being so behind as a F2P.
I can only speak for myself, but getting series 3 wasn't the big issue. The struggle afterwards sucks ass and made me almost quit. Same with the spotlight cache doubling. Right now i have enough keys for 2 full 4-sets, but that doesnt help with not getting the meta cards i want
Awesome they’re helping finally. However I feel as though they knew it would end like this. then eventually “stopped the gravy train” I’m saying this as a former aspiring whale trainee* I’ve spent some change but not a whale or creator* with about 8 months of play. They’ve set this in motion and led to the current state. ALSO THIS DOESSNT HELP WITH NEW CARDS as mentioned for “OG players” outside of tokens… And we PAY FOR THOSE ALREADY 🤦🏾♂️
It's a bandaid, they know it's a bandaid, and so...they probably won't follow up and improve more because the bandaid is gonna be enough goodwill for people to stop bitching and move on. Maybe I'm just jaded but yeah. I guess we'll see
I hope a lot more is done but I do think it’s good they are listening, but it seems that they are a little late to the party, especially if they was already aware of the issue that would come up. Personally I think that we should have packs with a chance of series 3 4 and 5, with random art as well, if you pull a dup then you get boosters for that card, then the spotlight be a higher chance for that pull in the week. But this is just a personal preference coz I prefer pack opening lol
97/112 Series 3 and still no Deadpool to play destroy or Viper,Hood,Sentiel for junk... but hey double the cards, means I have less time to wait to play those decks XD (I did spend all my Tokens for the 1k for a Season 3 cards to speed it up) It is a good start to help newer players to catch up. Would like to have rnd Series 4 card for tokens for maybe 1.5k-2k? And get more than 100 Tokens out of the boxes when you have not completet Series 3....
fine changes, but there are still many things that need to be changed. 2k tokens might be the biggest change for people who basically own almost all series 4 cards
Sorry, but they act like this is a brand new problem they are trying to fix. Is far too little, and far, far too late. They’ve driven off a lot of the people that were supporting the game financially and this does nothing to bring us back, and to pretend like this is the best they can do to even start a fix is a joke.
A better way of looking at this and still appreciating them getting around to some changes (and even announcing them a little early instead of making the dumb call of letting increasingly angry fans stew over the holidays and new year) is this; Ultimately if SD fixed acquisition up what’s really failing for them is their PR…I can’t believe the guy who makes the discord bulletins was their PR person and they had no one or nothing larger operating to communicate during difficult times (cause yeah those discord announcements you can vaguely react to ain’t it). Tldr; be mad at their PR Dept at this rate, it’s making the rest of them look bad (well, besides today anyway).

So just in case it isn't clear: anyone not s3 complete would be wise to save all their caches to open AFTER the jan 14th patch!
Dupe protection or bust.
The changes are great! Wish they had announced in conjunction with the earliest series 3 drops.
Any changes that helps newer players is a win for all of us.
how do I feel about the changes?
well, it's a decent enough start. and since it *is* a start, I won't judge it as I there won't be any further changes.
and I think it's decent cos i3 of the changes is actually better than what's been on my wishlist, which is increasing the tokens for a duplicate in the mystery spotlight card spot; I wanted 1500 tokens for series 4 and 3000 tokens for series 5 cards.
These changes are a step in the right direction but I do hope the revamped systems will come out by Spring at the latest.
Changes are pretty good. As a person who has several friends also playing this game, I'm glad they won't need to go through the same suffering I did during my mid s3 journey. These changes also make me hopeful for card acquisition changes to come
Any change that shift to the right direction is a good change.
For me, the 1000 token change to 2000 is really nice. Happy about that
Thank you for guiding the community, much appreciated. I like the new change but a bit late as I am 3 cards away from series 3 completion. At lvl 4873, I have no venom which means my destroy deck is low on win rate… they do sell it for $15 for Venom or $99 for venom and dagger…. Jeez I am hoping I can get my venom soon
But I am happy to get my doom 2099 on second key. A season pass would be very helpful 😊😊😊
The spotlight change is used 1000 more token really help when you need all for key or you just get unlucky when opening chaces.
Great News, thanks. Im in the midst of Series 3 and happy to get through quicker
These changes feel like a good first step. The only one that directly impacts me is more tokens in spotlights which feels fair. I wonder if they'll boost the number of tokens from filling the variant track in the shop.
Great changes ahead to attract more new players indeed! Thanks for sharing and happy Xmas 🎉🎉
I'm pretty happy with the changes, it will really speed up my time in series 3 thank god. The final acquisition changes should be interesting
Does that mean i shouldn't open reserves until Jan 14? I like the changes btw, as someone working through series 3 this helps a lot
Hey there, love the episodes! Just wanted you to know the microphone had been cutting out a bit in the last couple episodes. Keep up the great work!
Not groundbreaking changes but definitely needed and makes that insurmountable mountain to climb a bit more possible
I hope the steps that take are significant enough to help reverse what feels like a nosedive in the player base.
Like they say it themselves, these changes are just a band-aid fix, but it helps new players to catch up faster, which is primordial for SD to bring and retain new players. Let's hope we say more for new cards acquisition.
What a change! another proof that SD cares about their players!!
as im in my seriers 3 grind this is good news for newer players like myself to speed up my progression makes me put faith in SD again plus 2k tokens for dupes is much better look its not perfect the update wont help every1 like the veteran players as much but atleast this is somewhat steps in the right direction well done i say altho the spotlights will for now still remain a problem
Like the changes, but not enough.
I must have missed the huge news...
Bro those changes are fire.
They’ve known about these issues for a while now. Still a few months out. Hoping it’s not too little too late for many.
this gives me some hope for snap hopefully they don’t change
I’m surprised they don’t do 500 tokens with Spotlight variants. Those are essentially duplicates and tend to feel the worst when you brick your draws
Thankyou for keeping this game profitable, I wish you could put your name down here so I can check out an album of your sick variants
And key SHOULD be at least at 96 points in collection level and should be
1. New card
2. Series 5 card
3. Series 4 card
4 Randomness:
50% change of a new card
50% change of a card that you own, as an example a series 4 card would be 1500 tokens and series 5 card will
get you 2500 tokens(almost a half but not half cause, well, go grind, go snap)
Thank you for being positive about this change. I watched another content creator and they went on a negative rant, which is the opposite of what we need right now.
I’m so glad they’re finally addressing this. The game was started to feel like a job and I was ready to quit, but now it’s starting to feel like a game again. I’m no longer Sisyphus pushing a rock up a mountain that I know I’ll never reach the peak of, there is a light at the end of the tunnel 😭😭😭
To answer the Season Pass giveaway question:
I think this is great, especially if you buy a season pass.
I think their finally start to feel the competition. I know a bunch of people including myself that just rather play Rivals! Barely playing Snap
Really sad because I just got 1000 tokens from opening for Doom 2099, wish they implemented this change with his release lol... But overall, makes me super happy and optimistic for the future. Snap is my favorite game, I don't want it to die.
This is 1 step in the right direction but the journey is 1,000 steps
As someone new love the speed up in s3. Seems pretty positive overall to me. Do we know if the increased rate in s3 in gonna count with unopened reserves? Would like to continue to split cards and just save caches if that`s the case.
As a newer player, I welcome these changes.
Changes are good. It wouldn't be enough if that was all they were doing, but since they're reworking the card aquisition I'm willing to wait.
Nice changes, it still would take a long Way to get me Excited about the future
The changes are welcome but they do pretty much nothing for s3 cards complete except for the duplicate tokens being doubled.
As I pulled my 3rd duplicate from a spotlight cache in a row. I am nowhere near a complete collection.
This does nothing for me as an end game player but a step in the right direction I guess. Dupe protection is what I want.
I feel excited for these changes
I can not wait what is the rest of what they planning, this is not enough but its something right
Awesome they’re helping finally.
I guess we'll see
pretty sure Agent Venom dropping to series 4, i saw a bundle selling him for 4,5k gold in February
Wasnt that anti venom? Cause iv seen an anti venom one in feb that seems to good to be true. Still going to save gold for it though
@@TranceVivi yeah it's anti venom
I hope a lot more is done but I do think it’s good they are listening, but it seems that they are a little late to the party, especially if they was already aware of the issue that would come up. Personally I think that we should have packs with a chance of series 3 4 and 5, with random art as well, if you pull a dup then you get boosters for that card, then the spotlight be a higher chance for that pull in the week. But this is just a personal preference coz I prefer pack opening lol
97/112 Series 3 and still no Deadpool to play destroy or Viper,Hood,Sentiel for junk... but hey double the cards, means I have less time to wait to play those decks XD
(I did spend all my Tokens for the 1k for a Season 3 cards to speed it up)
It is a good start to help newer players to catch up.
I’d get Hulking as a S4 and spend the tokens
Sorry, but they act like this is a brand new problem they are trying to fix. Is far too little, and far, far too late. They’ve driven off a lot of the people that were supporting the game financially and this does nothing to bring us back, and to pretend like this is the best they can do to even start a fix is a joke.
A better way of looking at this and still appreciating them getting around to some changes (and even announcing them a little early instead of making the dumb call of letting increasingly angry fans stew over the holidays and new year) is this;
Ultimately if SD fixed acquisition up what’s really failing for them is their PR…I can’t believe the guy who makes the discord bulletins was their PR person and they had no one or nothing larger operating to communicate during difficult times (cause yeah those discord announcements you can vaguely react to ain’t it).
Tldr; be mad at their PR Dept at this rate, it’s making the rest of them look bad (well, besides today anyway).
