I couldn’t be more grateful for this video! My parents are divorced and both are having health issues. Our older kids (21 & 23) moved in with my dad and our youngest son, hubby and I moved in with my mom. It’s been a tremendous adjustment living with my mom. I know it’s not “her” that says the awful, hurtful and horrible things she says- it’s her illness, but it is truly TOUGH! I miss our kids fiercely even though we are only about 10 mins away. Everyone’s jobs and schedules are all over the place. Your vid was truly needed and I thank you for being so “Frank”! Much love & encouragement from my heart to you! ❤
An AWESOME event that happened in April of 2023 I retired at 59 yrs old Y E S ! Never thought this would be possible, as I raised three boys alone working two, sometimes three jobs to support them, W O W !

Hey Jen: I’m in my mid Sixties. We built a multi-generational house 30 years ago to facilitate my in laws (snow birds) The situation worked well for years… however that changed drastically as of late. A lot of stress and conflict ensued unfortunately and I crave my privacy. Good luck Jen I’m having to rewatch your posts until you return. Love your channel💕

You cannot compare your trials with anyone else’s. The stress still affects you and stress hormones will mess up your body. I found meditation and yoga helped me. Night sweats just suck. Give yourself grace and allow for time to take care of yourself. You have brought joy to me during my recent hard times so thank you❤.

Hahaha I had the same moment! Although mine is more that my fiancé and I share a walk in closet and it is definitely 80% my stuff, including the tall dresser that he only just realized he has 2 drawers for his things and offered one of them up. I have a LOT of stuff. 🤣

I welcomed 2 new grandsons in 2023. My daughter had a very difficult pre-term birth and their son stayed in the NICU for 5 weeks. They rented an efficiency apartment across the street from the hospital the entire time. I’m happy to say that little family is doing well now!

Frank! We had a similar year….moved 12 hours, did it ourselves. Sold a multi-gen house, rented a house and bought a multi-gen house. I work from home, husband started a new job. Been a ride! Multi-gen living isn’t easy, with all I have learned, I would do it very different. Completely separate buildings is the way to go!

You are really inspiring me to make some changes. Keep up the amazing content. You rock lady! I've been on the perimenopause train and now menopause (yuck). You can make it through. I definitely recommend getting all the hormones checked. I took many vitamins and got on the antidepressants. It helps. It's definitely a roller coaster ride. Best thing is to find a doctor that specializes in women's issues. I went through many doctors that just didn't have a clue. Good luck! You got this!

I think 2023 was a tough year for A LOT of people-- maybe it was a year we need to chalk up to re-emerging from a very weird time --maybe it was always going to be something we just needed to trudge thru to get to the other side of….good riddance to it regardless! Hoping 2024 is smoother going! I plan on doing as much traveling as I can in 2024…I have two big trips planned already and am very excited and happy to have something positive to look forward to. I love all your content, I actually really enjoy the long, chatty videos! I will be here for whatever you choose to post ❤
My first time watching and boy you seem to have had a lot of stress which I truly understand. My husband and I bought land in 2000 and built a 3 story log home. We did most of the work except we hired a company to put up the log shell of the home. We cleared the 9 acres and did all the electrical, plumbing etc. 11 years after a F3 tornado ( 135 mph) winds shook our home and took all 9 acres of trees down. It seems like it’s one thing after another. The good thing is we are both in our early 60’s with two grown girls that are married with kids in different states far away and it’s now just us two with the home paid off in May. So it’s now our time in life to enjoy. One of our daughters is moving her family back here to NH from California which we are really looking forward to right now. Life does turn around for the good after all the stress. Something to look forward to. I subscribed and really enjoyed your GRWM.👍🏻💓
The best thing that happened to me in 2023 was my daughter came home for a little bit. For 2024, is do the clutter and to TRY MY BEST to get the hubby on board. ❤❤❤

Living with family, extended family is not always easy. Someone often feels screwed over and someone often wants to sometimes unknowingly so the king of the castle. The other thing is a mistake people often make is putting the older adults upstairs or downstairs in a basement. As people age stairs are a big no. I would never consider putting older adults in a living situation where daily stairs are a requirement. Hopefully things turn around for you. Still love your channel.
Thanks. I mean we did think about that. The plans for our old home were 100% handicap accessible with wide doorways, a walk in handicap shower and stair lifts. So are the apartments. We really did try to think of everything.

Girl I’m exhausted just listening to this. You are so strong. Yep 2023 sucked but 2024 is a new year to look forward to. Start by putting yourself first. That is so important. I started my health journey in 2017 when my husband got diagnosed with prostate cancer and my grandson got diagnosed with autism. That set my in a downward spiral. I started working out and taking my health back. Find time to take walks it really helps. Keep the videos coming. I would love to see videos duping high end outfits. This girl is on a budget. 😂

My 2023 wasn't the best year, but one great thing that happened was that I got a job in a great hospital where I can do so much for the patients. Not for their physical health but mostly for their emotional health. I laugh and cry with them! As soon as I graduate I plan to work in Hospice so that opportunity has been a great start!

I found the answer to that!! When people ask me how do I do this and that, how do I still have time, etc. 😂 I used to say: "I dont know". They got me thinking 😂😂 And the simple answer is I JUST DO IT! Meaning that I am in auto mode.

Thanks for the life update. We are doing the multi generational lifestyle change. My mom can’t live at home by herself anymore with her four dogs so we are selling our home, selling her home, and buying a home together.
so she’ll either have an ADU or the whole basement???
We have been searching and searching for the right property for months.
so many have been sold out from underneath us. It has been crazy out here in California. So many people are paying cash for homes. They are going very quickly and it’s hard to find the type of home and the size of Home with all the things were looking for

You are amazing and I'm so honored to know your behind the scenes struggles and accomplishments. I struggle with depression, as well, and am a strong powerful woman like yourself. It just happens and sometimes for no reason at all but you've certainly had things to deal with. Just know you're admired and appreciated for all you do for us, here, and for those in your personal circle. 2023: I had 2 surgeries but also got to see the US Women's National Team at the World Cup in NZ and AUS and also got to take my Mom on a Christmas markets cruise in Europe!

Almost forgot- there are different antidepressants that can help with hot flashes and night sweats as well as depression and anxiety. Just ask your doctor what your options are.

It can be so flexible, and I find that being able to still have black coffee and pickle juice in my fasting window makes it doable. You got this, Jen!!!

Since covid you just can't get a contractor that has good workers.I had pipes break from the Houston freeze and getting my house liveable again was a nightmare.My contractor had to fire his workers because they weren't showing up and one time a worker showed up with his girlfriend and I heard them laughing and goofing off in the bedroom.The contractor told me to not them in that he had to fire his crew and he was afraid the crew was going to steal his tools.In the end I ended up with very shotty work and was not completed.
No one wants to work anymore and there is no pride on doing a good job they just don't care.

I and 7 yrs post menopausal and omg it can be rough soooo many symptoms! There’s great information from Kari Ann Wright in UA-cam. My mom passed away many years ago and never told me what to expect. Diet can help along with other things. I notice I get more hot flashes when I drink caffeine or eat sugar. Can’t wait for more videos- hey you should contact HGTV maybe they will redo your home!

I loved this style of video, and I vote sharing more about periomenopause and those changes as I'm approaching that myself and not many influencers talk about it🙂 In 2023, I went back to school (to hopefully make a career change).
Frank! 2023 tried you on multiple fronts and you did not let it win, proud of you!! My success for 2023 - I took a break. Work was physically too demanding and I took a break, these 12 weeks have been restorative. I'm 42 and definitely in peri menopause, I waited til I was in a murderous rage before talking to my gyn, don't be like me. Estrogen patch has been a lifesaver, for me and others :)

OH MY GOSH! Girl, you really went through it last year. I would say you have incredible grit, because I think I would have lost it. I am so sorry about sweet Tilly. I know you loved her like crazy. Wow, what a rollercoaster with all of the house stuff, and I give you so much credit for wanting to do the multi-generational living, because even though I love my parents like crazy, I know they would drive me crazy...and I won't even comment on how things would go if I lived with my in-laws, but let's just say that the probability of me ending up in prison would be very high. LOL My husband has already agreed that that is most definitely not an option. I think things are definitely falling into place for the best scenario for you guys with that though, since they will be in a detached building from you. Also, how dang amazing that the house across the street went up for sale and now Donna gets to move in over there!!!! That's so amazing. Between her and Dave, they will surely help you keep your sanity. LOL I hope that 2024 is filled with so many great things for you, and that everything falls into place and into a rhythm that brings you a peace and a calm that you haven't had in a long time. ❤so Frank. I love that you call Dave your personal manager. I feel like even without having a second career that in marriage someone has to be the manager. I get called the Boss a lot and I’m pretty sure I’m doing a half ass job personally managing that guy. Micromanaging, setting ambiguous quality goals, inadequate feedback….so corporate. I’m so glad stuff is working out for you. Last couple years have been a little rough for us with loss of parents and pets and I’m more than likely to lose another parent soon but. Big butt. Super secret. Like anyone here knows me. I’m gonna be a grandma. My daughter is barely pregnant and doesn’t want to announce it but like who ya gonna tell? She doesn’t enjoy the rando name suggestions and has no idea how much baby accoutrements I’ve hoarded waiting for this moment.

I started to cry when you said you had to reach out for medical intervention with your depression and when you talked about your fur baby Tilly being sick. I too have had a life time of dealing with my depression so I could understand how you were feeling. I have a dog... Mickey... and one day I will lose her. My heart is with you Jen. I am 55 years old and have been doing metapause for about 7 years now. OMG the hot flashes and night sweats... what us women have to go thru... I loved hearing about your life.. the ups and downs... you are a very sweet person and I know only the best will find you. I don't get on instagram as I like a longer video that you tube provides so I don't see much of you on there. I am so glad you got your account back. '23 was a roller-coaster for sure. Lost 70 lbs. Was feeling good. Husband went into the hospital 2 times to end the year. Then came '24with a bang. I had a massive heart attack on the 7th. But I'm a lucky girl & at 58 I have many more years to enjoy everyone & everything. Live every day to the absolute fullest is my best advice!

Hi Jen, I love your content ❤ and thank you so much for the life update. 2023 was great for me I got offered an early retirement from my job that I worked for 23 years and I am only 56!! 😁❤💃🏽We also recently moved to Florida 🏝 so this retirement happened at the perfect time. I also gained about 25 pounds as well from 2020-2023 due to menopause. Frank…not a downer video, it’s how life can be at times. 2023 was challenging at times for me as well. I found out that I became a full blown diabetic, md knew for 3 months and didn’t tell me or treat me for it, had to go on 2 different meds ( including insulin). I took charge of both my mental and physical health, lost 50 pounds, was able to stop using insulin. I focused on keeping myself happy and not relying on others making me happy. I love going to concerts and went to some great shows. Also, I got my first tattoo at 54 years young. My husband has been great with helping me. Keep being you.
As for night sweats, lexapro actually helped mine. Also, have you checked your fasting A1C or glucose levels? I had bad night sweats when mine was way off. I’m not a doctor and I’m not diagnosing anything, just something to consider.

Ugh 2023 was horrible for us too! We lost our first fur baby to kidney disease as well. We were told in March she would start declining in the next few weeks without any symptoms. We were devastated because we didn’t see it coming at all. Well she lived 7 months but we are still not over it. I am hoping 2024 is much better! Losing an animal is like losing a family member
A downer? Quite the contrar! This was chock full of laughter, tears, hope, despair, understanding, WTH?, highs, lows-let's face it - all the things life is full of. It sounded so 'REAL.' I absolutely loved it and hung on to your every word. I was so there on your struggle with Tillie! (No human kids here either.) I've lost several over the years and it never gets easier, one is 14-1/2 now and times can be very trying. Question, from experience, why can't stress ever cause weight LOSS? I'd more than love to see any update/renovation content you could share. GO JEN! ♥ Frank

Frank! Menopause is such a nightmare!🤦♀️😂 I did HRT during the worst of it and it saved me! I slept, didn’t sweat as much and no longer considered murdering any of my family members! Win win for all!😜 No regrets on the HRT.
As a real estate appraiser i completely understand how difficult finding comps for unique properties can be. But now im interested in seeing a video of your house, barn & outbuildings, lol. Sounds like a really cool house and i love the idea of the whole multi-generational family, your lucky you have the zoning that allows for that. Oh and your BFF across the street, is awesome!!
