Great recap! ✨1 HUGE con / drawback of Canva websites is that they do not have option to put an accessibility button ( for disabled people) . I have emailed Canva many times asking to add that button, but no luck ...😢
I just completed my Canva website with multiples pages. I have like 5 tabs on the menu and they have their separate page. What I do is create the pages like a seperate design and ensure that o keep the same menu at the top. After that the main home page I go back and link the tabs to those individual pages I have design. So I don’t have everything on one single scrolling page.
Excellent video, I'm designing my first website now and super excited and your video appeared on their tutorial page so I clicked and here I am, everything seems easy to understand but there's one thing Canva doesn't mention is the Privacy Policy and Terms & Condition's which is important and required by law, so my question is to you is how do I write it all out correctly ?
I use Canva for my website, but I am struggling with several thing. I am all in with your 'not so mobile friendly' issues. I will try the grouping! Hopefully that will fix things. I have soms questions for yout.1. I see you have the menu banners with a hamburger menu. How did you create this? 2. I have SEO issues, get messages my pages are blocked in search engines, while they are not blocked. Any tips how to get this issue fixed? 3. Is there a way to access the back of the site, to add Google Analitics information? I love this video and will definately follow you and look more of your video's!
to add the hamburger menu at the top right, just name your pages, and then the menu will create itself using the names you provided for each page, it then scrolls down to that page
Would canva be a good choice to build a website for a driveway/paving business there is no buying from the website just a showcase of work and list of services that I do
I'm an author and I plan on using free Canva websites for my pen names at least starting out. Love this video and look forward to more Canva related content from you!
When I launch the website it does two things. 1. The launch would look different than the edited version and would default back to editing when I tried to test out the website. 2. When I created a link It would require me to give access to each person to not just view the website but giving access to also edit. I can’t figure out how to share a website via link without these problems.
You've just answered a question I couldn't find the answer to anywhere else - thank you so much and the change has made all the difference to my websites - literally took me 2 seconds to make the simple adjustment and BAM! - worked like a charm!!
I don't know why I didn't work it out myself actually as I do it all the time on my regular design projects but all it was was when I viewed some of my websites in mobile mode, some of the elements would be all over the place on the screen but as soon as I grouped related elements, bingo bango, they were all in order and in the right location - problem solved! Thanks again! 👍
The biggest downside I can see for actual businesses wanting a website is that it’s reliant upon Canva and isn’t self-hosted, like a Wordpress website would be. Using Canva for a website is probably good for hobbyists but still not ideal for a business.
Would you say Canva is a good start to creating a landing/holding page whilst designing a fully fledged website? And can I use a domain I currently have, and then transfer it once I have created my website?
Hello there! We recently released a video that explains the best uses for a Canva website. It really depends on what your business intention is -- if its e-commerce based, Canva is most definitely not the best choice. If its more informational, marketing oriented, then Canva is a better option. As for "needing" to learn how to code...hmm...lots of debate around that as well with the popularity of AI. As someone who started out as a programmer many years ago, I am glad I did, as it gave me a good foundation of programming concepts. Knowledge never hurts! Good luck! ua-cam.com/video/zSAAAJgAXZU/v-deo.html
Hi there and thanks for watching. Canva website is a good start for a "placeholder" or landing page to get your domain out there and visiblity to your site. You won't be able to transfer or migrate in the technical sense, but you can eventually create a WP site to mimic what you have created in Canva. Join us in the Hub if you'd like more help!
How do you add the multiple page site? I would like to have drop downs in my menu that takes my viewers to different categories and then the individual blog posts
This is the first time I have seen your channel. I wasn't aware of the option to create a website on or with Canva. And I use Canva almost daily. LOL! Thanks for this video. Also, the pros and cons of making one. Definitely gained a new subscriber.
Absolutely great video, my only small suggestion would be to improve the mic quality or get a mic closer to your mouth so there is less resonance in the audio. Besides that, SUPER helpful video!

So I already have an existing domain and I know that if I create a Canva website and connect an existing domain then I have to pay for Canva Pro to do that...I'm wondering what will happen if I publish my website and then just cancel the Canva Pro subscription immediately after...will my website remain live and fully functional or does it go blank or what?
Would you say Canva is a good start to creating a landing/holding page whilst designing a fully fledged website? And can I use a domain I currently have, and then transfer it once I have created my website?
Hey! Yes to the first question! For the second... would be glad to test this out for you - right now, we're prioritizing Hub Members' questions, so feel free to jump in for a month if you need this looked into quickly. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, we'll add this to our list for possible UA-cam videos for 2024 and post here!! hub.digivangelism.org
We have a vid coming out about this in the next month!! If you need the details sooner, feel free to jump in the hub for a month or however long you'd like. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, know it's coming and we'll post here when it's done :) hub.digivangelism.org
I don't think it's possible...it is a scroll website...they treat sections has pages. So everything is on one page. Just scroll it. You can hide anything and made visible only on clicking like privacy policy or terms and conditions. It interface is meant for small business owners who just want some presence. The mobile editor sucks. Had a horid time adjusting the layout on desktop to get elements comprimised for mobile view. I have not seen on the tablet though. I don't know if it takes feedback forms?
How do you do Pro #8?????? I'm winging it. And, how do you make a blog? BTW - just found your channel and really appreciate your help. Little to no help on Canva websites out there but I do love what I'm able to do with it so far. XO, Kelly
Trying to use Canva but I cannot. find the answer. Is Canva just a scrolling website? Is there not a way to break the pages like traditional websites? anyone know?
Realy insightful info I love the video. Straight talk no baiting, jus real deal info. One thing i want to know is, are we allowed to make a design, publish it then go to the source code to add and remove what we need/don't need to then publish it else where and add the missing funtionalities? Or is that outside the terms and conditions?
3:28 - I can't find how to do this anywhere! How to link additional pages for the navigation bar as a drop down menu? The "Let's Go" call to action button also looks custom, along with the color / font of the text!
You can add fonts to Canva! And choose your colors, of course. We just filmed our multipage workaround video so that will be coming soon, but there's no drop down capability currently in Canva!
Awesome video! Thanks! I’m trying to sell digital products, blog etc & may use canva for a landing page only & migrate to readymag or wix. What do you think of those two? I’d love your input!
Thanks for watching! As we like to advise, begin with the end in mind; what are you goals, what do you need the webpage to do? Don't overthink it. We're not familiar with readymag. Wix is a solid platform; if that fulfills your needs, go for it. Tools and platforms are getting easier to use and more flexible which only benefits us, the end users.
We actually have a vid coming on this in the next month-ish!! If you need an answer sooner, feel free to jump into our Training Hub. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, know it's coming and we'll post here when it's ready!! hub.digivangelism.org
Can you tell me how many domain names canva will let you host on the teams or enterprise plan? i have pro and its 5 as you mentioned, but i want to design websites and host them on canva for clients. I am trained in wordpress (and actually hand coding) but I love canva websites builder and can produce such a nice website in a couple days that i can offer them for a fraction of the cost to clients (and since i live in mexico this is a total must - you just are not paid CAD/USD wages here)
This video is IN THE WORKS!! Should be posted in the next month - if you need the details sooner, feel free to jump in our training Hub for a month. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, hang tight - it's coming! hub.digivangelism.org
Is there a way to make each page end so that it’s not all scrollable.. I made a website but it’s 8 scrollable pages -the scrolling doesn’t stop until page 8 😭
Every new section you add to the site can be labeled and that creates the nav name/link. Or what I like to do is create text words for my nav links and just hyperlink them.
Hi there! going to "assume" by premium you mean a paid for tool? We're inclined to answer with -"it depends" - depends on your goals, your level of technical experience, whether or not you will be maintaining the sites going forward or handing off to clients. There are things to consider first before choosing a tool. That being said, "best" is a matter of opinion. Our go to platform outside of Canva is Wordpress w/Elementor Pro page builder. We've used others over the years and settled on Elementor. It's come a long way and continues to improve.
Hi there! In order to Unpublish the website, you must have first published it as some point. Then when you enter EDIT mode, you will get the option to "Unpublish Website". You can also get to these settings AND delete the domain entirely by navigating to Account Settings -> Domain. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Such a good video! I do have one question though. What if I want the source code for the canva website? I would love to know if we can get the source code and edit it.
One of the most frustrating cons I am finding with Canva websites is resizing. They're websites are landscape and not portrait. When you try to resize-even when you select this design, it turns your website into a design and not a functioning website. Have you figured this out?
Hi there! It is not impossible, but its not easy. At this time, there is no built in integration with payment systems like Stripe or Square. You would have to use the payment/checkout features in Stripe or Square to set up products, create a payment link and add that link to a button on the canva website. This video demos that process: ua-cam.com/video/3IG4PC91KlY/v-deo.html
I think Canva websites are good as a 'mock up' tool to test out an idea for a real website. Or if it's for a really basic landing page style website - say for a school fete, dog grooming business, high school reunion - etc. It's not very sophisticated and the name thing is a turn off. You can't have canva in your domain name - that just doesn't cut it.
Canva Pro + Existing domain name I own = only 5 websites or 5 webpages can be published? Also can you unpublish one site and replace it with another? Thank you Sammy
I'm still learning but I managed to create a website, the only thing I couldn't figure out was how to hide the "Terms and Conditions" policy. I added a hyperlink and attached the page but you are still able to see the page at the end of the website. Can you "hide" this page? I tried the actural "hide" page option but then the link didn't work.
I don't see any professional companies using the website. It's OK for a startup who just wants a small presence. I could not hide a page on canva like the privacy policy which should be seen only when clicked. Can I do it?
So after I make my website, how do I add my products for people to buy? for example I have the option to "shop now" but when I press it, it doesn't work. How do I link my products for people to buy????
This video is on our schedule in the next couple months - if you need this walkthrough quicker, we are prioritizing Hub Member questions right now over YT vids and can jump on it quicker through there. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, we'll add this video to our list for possible UA-cam videos for 2024 and post here when we do!! hub.digivangelism.org
Hello, thanks for Your video. A question: How can I add a navigation menu bar with multiple pages, that remains when I am scrolling down the page? Thanks a lot
Hey! This answer is in the works and should be posted in the next month or so - if you need a reply sooner, feel free to jump in our Training Hub. We film personalized video answers for all new questions (canva, social media, websites, etc.) and send them via email + add them to the Hub. :) Otherwise, it's in the works and coming in the next few weeks!!! hub.digivangelism.org
Great question! With your design in Edit mode, right click on a text element, bottom of options list is "Translate Text". This brings up a sidebar with options for language, whether to translate specific text elements or the entire page. You have the option to apply to all pages or select pages. When ready, click on Translate. Note that Settings tab. It is defaulted to make COPIES of your pages and translate all selected. So if you have 5 pages in English and select all to be translated, you will then end up with 10 pages, 5 in English, 5 in Spanish, for eg. You can reorder them so all Spanish is first, then English, then publish with Navigation menus. Seems you will have to manually translate page titles. Hope that helps! Team Digi
I scooter past Canva’s office on my way to the hardware store and always salute. This Australian company keeps a roof over my head!
im aussie and have been using canva since since year 7 in 2016, i never knew it was aussie i always thought it was chinese 😭
This was so helpful and thrilled to see a faith-based company to help me. What a great niche.
YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE GREAT TO WATCH.... YOU ARE FUN TO LISTEN TO....
Yes I am going to use Canva Websites they are cost-effective for start-up companies that I work with in my business
Great recap! ✨1 HUGE con / drawback of Canva websites is that they do not have option to put an accessibility button ( for disabled people) .
I have emailed Canva many times asking to add that button, but no luck ...😢
True that! They do have an "alternative text" option for screen readers. So they are on the right path.
It’s tough to balance making videos with other responsibilities. Sometimes it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day!

What a beautiful style you use to present so usefull info.
Like this.

Canva does not yet support true "multiple" pages like other platforms. Hopefully it's on their road map for enhancements.

Awesome!! Second time I watch you. I am going to do it again all day!
Great update Sammy! Thanks for pushing me that much closer to trying to build a site in Canva.

Once a Canva website is published to Google, is it possible to make any further changes to it or delete the website?
Hi there! In order to Unpublish the website, you must have first published it as some point. Then when you enter EDIT mode, you will get the option to "Unpublish Website". You can also get to these settings AND delete the domain entirely by navigating to Account Settings -> Domain. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
How to do the pro #8?
Such a good video! I do have one question though. What if I want the source code for the canva website? I would love to know if we can get the source code and edit it.
Hello there - according to the help bot in Canva, they don't provide the source code for websites created on its platform. :(
Thaks for the overview. I'm excited to finally make a website without a bill that makes me wanna cry! 😂
One of the most frustrating cons I am finding with Canva websites is resizing. They're websites are landscape and not portrait. When you try to resize-even when you select this design, it turns your website into a design and not a functioning website. Have you figured this out?
Have ya tried grouping? We have a vid on struggling through that somewhere. But end result = grouping.
So I wanted to use it for my business, and from what I understood, people won’t be able to buy from the website I create on Canva right?
Hi there! It is not impossible, but its not easy. At this time, there is no built in integration with payment systems like Stripe or Square. You would have to use the payment/checkout features in Stripe or Square to set up products, create a payment link and add that link to a button on the canva website.
This video demos that process:

We actually have a video on this coming in the next month or so, if you were interested in more on the topic!!
I'm trying to create a blog from Canva😢
Way to go on figuring all that out. TBH, I'm not sure why you want to hide the T&C page? Why include it at all? We might be missing something...?
I don't see any professional companies using the website. It's OK for a startup who just wants a small presence. I could not hide a page on canva like the privacy policy which should be seen only when clicked. Can I do it?
you could make it a separate page and then you'd only get there when clicked. But def not the BEST fit for larger companies!
It’s easy! Just create a new page, grab the link for that page & put it at the top with a name on it.
We love a good workaround!!
Can you embed HTML codes?
Yes you can!
Thank you - How can I make my canva website bilingual? I don't need the AI translator

If any further changes need to be made to the Canva website after it has been published, how can those changes be made later?
You just go back on editing mode and edit that specific page or section and it will just save and update automatically.
Absolutely! Just edit as you would with any canva design and republish. :)
Do you know how to get the free domain in order to type on website bar
YES! Our next video is on exactly this. :) Guess we should post it today??
Didja find it!?
