    Came here for some general info on my new CF Express TA 160gb SD that came in yesterday. This video is 2 years old but the card still cost me $368 bucks off eBay, so that goes to show how much price power these cards have.
    The real reason I'm commenting at all is simply to say I VERY MUCH appreciate how you enunciate everything very well, your videos are concise and clear, direct, no unnecessary and annoying frills or flashy editing, and most importantly of all, NO MUSIC droning on and on endlessly in the background of the entire video. THANK YOU.

    Basically selling low end 500gb nvme drives for 700$ that are typically sold for 50$ in general pc stores..and yes those cheap nvmes can take most of the 4k prores bit rates continuously without any problem , be sure to check the cache and nand type. Avoid qlc . Even if u spend on top quality nvme drives like Samsung 970evo plus it's still better than cfexpresss card..

    I know this is a year old but I was wondering if you know why the Sony CFEXPRESS Type A card is so slow in uploading XAVC S4K 30fps 10 Bit 4:2:2 footage to my computer? It took over an hour to upload a 5 minute video to my Intel i9-9980hk pc, I got 64GB Of RAM in it and 4TB Samsung 970 plus NVMe. This is my first time using this with the same card reader you have. I am however using the USB Type A cable with it which my PC has USB 3.1 I do have 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports but one is being used for my Monitor and the other one to run my keyboard, mouse, microphone etc so the ports are being used. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new here with the A7IV and I can't "Know my gear" if no one is willing to show me how to use it lol

    How about stills, will the A cards be faster say for sports/birding in the 10 fps and clearing the buffer, what about the A1 and 30fps? Also say for Astro Milky Way when doing shots for stacking in Interval Shoot Func. will the faster speed make for faster write clearing the buffer faster allowing for less wait to start next shot in the series of say 10 images. And last for doing time lapses will it enable faster write time? Just curious may not need....

    Hi, I have a question can I use the cards in the same way, let's say there is a v90 card in slot 1 and a type-a card in slot 2, I program the 1,2,3 wheel so that 24.60 Fps is written on v90 S-I and 120fps on typa-a in slot number 2? I don't have a typa-a card to check it yet...

    If need such strong bit rate (more than 500mb) , external recorder with ssd isn’t the better and cheaper option ?

    • @justonbrazda3846
      @justonbrazda3846 4 роки тому

      Yes, but you would have to buy something like an Atomos ninja V for 599 , in addition to an ssd hard drive. If you shoot long videos, that is the better option.

    • @justonbrazda3846
      @justonbrazda3846 3 роки тому

      Don't forget about the 8 bits to a byte math. 600 Mb/s is 75MB/s. So to fill up 160 Gigabytes you'd get like 35 minutes. Still not a lot.

    I'm truly disappointed that Sony chose the CF Type A cards, and that decision might come back to bite them like the Beta/VHS format wars of ye' olden days. Panasonic went for their own proprietary P2 cards and faced the same criticisms. They swore up and down that 3rd party cards would bring prices down, but that never materialized. Recording to external drive via USB-C would be a nice alternative, and the tech is probably easier to implement than adding multiple format card slots. But that is a discussion for another time.

      @@lekkerpruven887 Still have my Minidisc.It did well because of the utter lack of competition for portable digital music players that were compact. It also had recording capabilities, which made it popular with bootleg concert recordings. But with media cards, you want to go with the herd, in most cases. Proprietary formats are a bane for consumers and a gamble for producers. Witness the quick disappearance of the PonoPlayer and high-res audio. Same will be the fate of Kanye's stem player.
