26.2 miles is a ton but what i would do is take it 1 mile at a time. Im rooting for you. Personally my goal is to rip more baseball on the channel. Maybe even pick a team to follow.
Heck yes! You can easily do the marathon! 40 is just a number! TB12 played well into his 40s for a game made for 20 year olds! Yo got it! Fantastic Pujols and Johnny higlighted. Nice table display of cards as well. I remember you texted Greg and me a lot of those cards when you added them. Enjoyed Andy!
Hey Steve! I appreciate your support but I don’t think I can easily do a marathon. Haha. I really think there’s a 30% chance I’ll actually be able to do it. Thanks for the kind words and the support and help when showing cards to you. Thanks for everything Steve and hope you and your family have a blessed 2025!
First of all, love the Pumpkins footage, one of my all time favorite bands. Outstanding showcase of pickups. Love that Icee Bear Maravich and the Plante and still need to get that Pujols. Best of luck on the marathon. I never ran one, but I did get in the best shape of my life back when I turned 40 and was easily running 7-8 miles nightly for about a year. So the age is definitely not a big factor. In fact, I’m trying my best to get back into it now at 44. Anyways, best of luck with it and you got this. Just slap on some good headphones and listen to the pumpkins whilst you run. Happy new year my friend
Hey David! I’m a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan as well and was pretty excited I got to see them in concert this year. Tonight, Tonight is my favorite song of theirs. It was a little bit of a down year collecting wise and that’s ok. I was able to save some money for some bigger cards but still get the Pujols and Maravich cards. That’s fantastic you used to run 7-8 mile after work. I built up to 8 before training to get some base miles. 26.2 is such a daunting task. I really don’t know if I’ll make it. Hope you and your family have a blessed 2025!
Let’s go!! What a great goal for the year, Andy. It’s right around the corner but I know you’re ready for it. I’m always impressed with people that run marathons. It’s quite an accomplishment to complete one. Wishing you the best in your preparation! It’s nice seeing all your graded pickups together. Really great looking cards! Thanks for sharing and all the best to you and your family this year, Andy!
Thanks, Hugo! 26.2 is insane and training sucks, haha. Appreciate the kind words on my pickups. I was happy with saving money and being able to pursue some bigger cards. Happy new year my friend. Hope it’s a great one for you and your family!
Hey Andy. Great 2024 recap and fun hearing your 2025 goals. All great additions. Pujols Chrome rookie is sweet! Love the Unitas addition and Groat cards too. Running a marathon is an amazing goal. You sound very determined, I'm sure you will accomplish your goal. Awesome video, Andy!
Hi Brian! It was a down year for me collecting but saved money for some bigger cards. So it’s ok. I’d say I have a 30% chance to complete the marathon. It’s just something I really struggle with. Happy New Year, Brian. Hope 2025 is a great year for you and your family.
What? A marathon? Whoa! That’s fantastic Andy and what a great goal! I will wish you the best of luck but I have no doubt you will be successful! I can’t wait to hear about that accomplishment when it happens! Your 2024 pickups are amazing. You can’t go wrong with quality over quantity and every one of those cards are fantastic!
Hey Jim! It’s a big goal but I just don’t know if my body can handle it. I’d say there’s probably a 30% chance I can complete it. Thanks for the kind words. It was a down year for collecting for me but I have saved a lot of money to pursue some bigger cards. So no complaints. Happy New Year my friend! May you and your family be blessed in 2025
Great 24 recap and inspiring words to roll into 25 Andy! Good luck on the marathon! As I’ve gotten older my motto changed from Avoid Arrest to Avoid Injury! So take it slow, and nurse the nagging injuries so they don’t turn into big ones! Loved your 24 pick ups. A lot of great Vintage basketball in there which is right up my alley.
Wow, a marathon!!! I didn’t know you were training for that. Good for you and I am hope it all works out for you this time. I really enjoy running but my knees no longer do or allow me. Great display of addictions for the year. I really appreciate the focus of your collection!!
Hi Greg! Training for a marathon hasn’t been the most fun I’ve had recently, but hoping I can grind through it. Thanks for the kind words on the collection. If I don’t stay focused there will be cards I’ll never get.
Hi Ed! Thanks for the kind words. The Spirits of St Louis cards are some of my favorites. I’m glad you liked them as well. Hope you and your family have a blessed 2025, Ed!
So many great pickups Andy! The 62 and 58 Unitas cards are so sweet, as is the 69 Sayers, but my favorite is that 72 Icee Bear Pistol Pete. Good luck with your marathon, my best friend ran one and it is a huge commitment! My two youngest daughters have signed up to run the Chicago Marathon. Happy New Year
Hi Steve! Thanks for watching and the comment as always. Best of luck to your daughters with the Chicago Marathon. I’m actually using that one and the Indianapolis one as backups in case I fail in April. Thanks for the compliment on my additions. It was a light year for me which is ok because I saved for some bigger cards but was still able to get some key cards I needed. Hope you and your family have a blessed 2025, Steve!
Hi Andy! Great recap of your pickups. Man, the centering on those cards is phenomenal! One of my goals next year is to get the Icee Bear Pistol Pete. You have a beautiful copy, my friend. Good luck with the marathon training and have a fantastic new year!!!
Hi Rob! It was a down year for me but was able to put some money away for some bigger cards so it was still a success. The Icee Bear of Maravich is one of the most beautiful basketball cards in my opinion. Happy New Year to you and your family!
Good for you my man! Awesome goal on trying to run your first marathon! 3rd time is a charm lol! I'm rooting for you buddy! I don't buy it for one moment you will stop buying card though haha! Many great pickups this year. I'm sure you will buy some really great pieces for your collection in 2025. Don't know if it's just fresh in my mind, but that Johnny U and the Dick Groat were probably my two favorites of you 2024! Thanks for sharing with us and best of luck on the Marathon!
Hey Mike! I’d say I have a 30% chance to complete the marathon. I chose an April one so I have options in the fall if I don’t succeed. It was a little bit of a down year for collecting but I saved some money for some bigger cards so it was a success. Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope it’s a blessed year for you all.
Hi Andy, loved the opening message. I wish you the best in your preparations for the marathon. You had a great year in collecting with the 19 graded cards you added. I am sure you added some awesome ungraded cards too. The 51 Bowman is my favorite Roy Sievers card. What is the story behind the Bob Miller addition? I know you’re a cardinals fan, but why that one? I like the choice with the pink inset color. Why Rosie Brown too? He was an outstanding tackle but I am curious why you added him. I have enjoyed your videos and watching your collection grown. I am looking forward to a great 2025. Happy New Year!
Hi Terry! I’d give myself a 30% chance I can complete 26.2 miles. I chose an April marathon so if I fail I have options in the fall. Indianapolis is a backup. It was a little bit of a down year for collecting but I was able to save some money for some bigger cards. While I was able to add some cards I really wanted. The Bob Miller was bought because I’m at some sort of a crossroads with my collection. I’d love to have my cardinals cards graded but the majority of them are raw. I don’t want to pay a grading company to grade my collection but I also want it easier on my family to deal with my stuff once I’m gone. The Miller was an upgrade from the one I have in my set and it cost $10. So I grabbed it since it’s cheaper than sending it to PSA and didn’t ruin my budget. The Rosie Brown I just really liked. I like to collect lineman. Plus as much as I enjoy the stories from the ‘58 championship game it’s given me a soft spot for Giants cards in my collection. Happy New Year, Terry. Hope it’s a wonderful year for you and your family!
Great cards for the year! Good luck on the marathon! Likewise I’m 0-1 running not finishing the 2008 Chicago Marathon. Happy New Year’s and hopefully the Blues take it easy on my Hawks tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing the Pumpkins in between periods!
I was hoping to see more of the Pumpkins but it was pretty awesome to see the players come out to “Tonight, Tonight”. Loved seeing that. 26.2 miles is so difficult. So cool you attempted the Chicago Marathon. The training is a job in itself. Hope you and your family have a wonderful 2025!
Hello Andy, wow about your 2025 goal ! All the best in your preparations for the marathon. Personnaly i am not able to run 26,2 Km (around 16,3 miles) ! I love all yours 2025 pickups, specialy the both Johnny Unitas cards, the Gale Sayer card, the Rooseveilt Brown card and the Jacques Plante card. Thanks you my friend for sharing and Happy New Year.
Hi Fabien! Thanks for the kind words. I’m already injured for my marathon training. I’ve done something to my Achilles. Ugh. I’m resting it now and we have 10 inches of snow on the ground so it’s a good time to rest it Thanks for the compliments on my 2024 pickups. I love the Unitas’s as well. Hope you have a wonderful 2025 my friend!
@@Dcollection i wish you a good resting and i advice you to drink a lots of water ( Tom Brady's advice...😉). Wow, 10 inches of snow ! Have a great week Andy.
Thanks, Joe! I really enjoy seeing all the additions together. It’s a fun process to do. I did a 7 mile training run today. Feel ok until you realize it’s still 19 miles short, haha. Happy New Year my friend. Hope it’s a great year for you and your family!
Heraclitus - "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." You are almost at 200 subs. Good luck with your marathon. I have 2 or maybe 3 half marathons for 2025. Will you be showing some cards as you run? '69 Sayers is my favorite.
Hi Drew! Loved the quote and glad you shared that with me. Where are you running your half marathons? Maybe we can connect at one. I’ve done several half marathons but never been able to complete a full marathon. Happy New Year, Drew! Hope 2025 treats you well.
Welcome 2025 🎉 Best of luck with your training for the Illinois marathon. My buddy Mitch, on UA-cam "White Sox fan card collector," also runs marathons in Chicago. I'm not sure if you're familiar with his channel. Take care
Happy New Year to you and your family! I wasn’t familiar with White Sox Fan Card Collector so I’ll have to check him out. Marathons plural is hard for me to comprehend, haha. Thanks for watching and taking the time to watch!
Good luck with the training for the Marathon. Fueling is always the most difficult training part for me. Running is second nature by now, but getting my stomach to take in calories while running takes some getting used to. It makes a huge difference at mile 20+ if you can get it right. It can be the difference in finishing and uncontrollably vomiting, then ending up in the medical tent. Any goal times of are you just looking to finish
Hey Allen! Happy New Year to you and your family! I may need to text you about advice. I’m not a “real” runner so I’m trying to figure stuff out. I have run 6 half marathons, but none in a while. I’ve been attempting the fueling while I run. The pouch applesauce has been working and GU gels I’ve been able to keep down. My goal is to just finish, and finish before they open up the streets. I’m slow and what I do you probably wouldn’t even respect as a runner, haha.
From 1 collector to another I wish you the best in 2025 with your collection!
Thanks you. Wishing you the best for 2025 and your collecting journey as well.
