It was about the royal tailor, they didn't allow the chemistry between the tailor and the queen become the main theme but they allowed their hint romance to complement the movie so this like the tailor and the the head tailor friendship and the tailor and the head ginseng friendship were allowed to shine along and complement what the movie was meant and is about...which is the life of the Royal tailor. The ending was a painful one because the credit was given to the wrong person for many years but it's realistic because it shows how not everything history teaches was what really happened. no matter how authentic the research proves to be.
At that time its a unwritten rule that clothes must be base on what is your status in the community they can't just wear any clothes that they like a sad reality from the past.
Have yall seen Yoo Yeon Seok without the beard. Man he's literally like Sehun's older brother. They could play in a drama as brothers and I won't question the casting director!!!
You are missing great deal. Scarlet Heart is just a drama that I watched because of Lee Jun Ki. The actors were good but I didn't like their characters and it was a tragedy. The end was open to the viewers which showed there's season 2. You haven't watched real Sageuk dramas based on real korean history with plot twists. Dramas like Empress Ki, the fearless lady, Queen Seon Deok, Dong Yi, Six flying dragons, deep rooted tree, Splendid politics, Jumong etc. The list goes on. There's Hwarang where we saw our BTS V. For me Hwarang was better than Scarlet heart. You are missing great deal. I ever watch modern drama I gave watched almost all Sageuks.
I don’t like the ending of this film, it seems so nice in the beginning. He’s not a fake tailor though he has brilliant skills of designing and making clothes but the royal tailor grabs all the credits that supposed to be his. He died for not recognizing his creations but all was grabbed by the envious royal tailor. He is the true creator of the Queen’s gown on the banquet.

That is the rudest thing ever, to just burn away ALL of the young tailor's creations, everything he had put his hardwork and effort into. Also, this entire thing of making and wearing 'cheap' clothes started because they wanted to sleep with the king and the king itself is making the rest of the people look bad because of what he started SMH.
This is a heart wrenching drama, just a heavy blow on your heart at the end of the drama: the crazy king beheads the tailor, the queen throws away all the garments he's made for her, only the yellow one is shown in the "museum" under the Royal Tailor's name (not the one who was hired from the outside). Very sad, very disappointing. I wish I would never seen that movie. It is a HEAVY VERY HEAVY BLOW ON YOUR HEART BELIEVE ME! Disappointing after watching all the movie clips ACTUALLY THEY ARE THE BEST, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EPISODES. if you don't watch the full drama, believe me it's for the best! At least LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL in these short clips, but the drama, at the end there is DEATH ONLY!
