    Porter should have looked at the resumes of the men he hired a bit more carefully.

    Johnny Mack Brown starred in many major motion pictures opposite stars such as Joan Crawford and Greta Garbo before starring in billy the kid and becoming a western star.

    I remember seeing Johnny Mack Brown western movies in the Boys Club of America in Detroit Michigan in the lat 40's. Really liked his low resonate drawl and of course the man himself. Unfortunately, he made what maybe was his last movie and in it he was fat and he played a bad guy - one too many movies Johnny.

    Good fun although I wanted to see those gunnies gunned. Isn’t that what Westerns are for? Also, some continuity problems, after holding up Porter, Calico set off on a light colored horse with a dark tail, but arrived on a black, or dark brown horse. Reminded me of some memories on the end of my dvd of the Searchers, about these old westerns having riders picked up in Hollywood and bussed out to Monument valley or somewhere for the filming. Pretty often some of the boys got on the wrong bus, and ended up in the wrong movie, but it didn’t really matter….

    How does a person ride a horse fast without bouncing ?

    • @westernrider100
      @westernrider100 5 місяців тому

      Practice and smooth riding horse. In less technical terms ..... Also, the riders are walking their horses, or loping / running the horses rather than trotting the horses. Trotting is a two beat gait and the horses legs move in pairs which makes the ride bouncy.

    Some of these movies are dumb. Why, if you've captured the leader of the gang, would you let him go?
