I like how the interior isn't over the top, just like the exterior. I think a lot of 30+ guys / girls like me want an enthusiast car that isn't all boy racer hey look at me.
same here, im 33, i have kids and a wife, when i drive by myself i select RACE mode ,and push it hard, but when im driving with my family i select NORMAl mode and drive regular.
I agree. I bought my R when I was 42, and it's nice that most people don't think anything of my car. The RS is a great car, but I definitely would've felt too old for it. You need to get the R...or wait until 2018 for the new one.
i agree what you say, the golf R is firts car i have considered to pay off , also i have APR stage 1 with low torq file, plus afe cold air intake 371 hp crank , and stock clutch, zero issues and its a monster. absolutelty in love with my R.
As someone who owns an R, I can say that if you buy a GTI... you'll save $$... HOWEVER... One day you're going to pull up next to an R in traffic... or at a stoplight.. or park next to one... & you're going to look at it... & then look at your GTI & say damn... I should have gotten the R. #truth
I have a GTO for that. Just bought a GTI and I LOVE it. do not need two super fast cars. that R is awesome though, if it is as nice as this GTI but faster.
My R has been stage 2+ for 30K miles and has been flawless. The engine and transmission tuning you can do to these cars puts them in near super car territory for quickness. I've clocked 0-60 sprints at repeatable 3.8 seconds on 91 pump gas using launch control. I have a family of four and love the utility it provides. It can be tame and comfortable or aggressive and dynamic. The dual personality is what makes this package superior to its competitors in my opinion.
I felt like I was getting an actual broad review of the vehicle, and not just this guy's opinion of the Golf R. I felt I learned a lot about the car in a realistic, honest presentation. Well done!
I bought my wife a 2018 R and she drives it happily to work every day. She runs it in economy mode with stop/start active. When my son and I get hold of it we take it for a blast on some of our favourite twisty roads where it is in no way embarrassed by my BMW 1M, which is the king of twisty roads.
It's the perfect "mature" Hot Hatch. No big wings, bright colors, "hey look at me add ons" along with the right interior. Again MATURE!! Beautiful and elegant. One day I'll bump up to the R.
Thank you for your review. I definitely made me consider a Golf instead of the Honda Civic. My 2013 Jetta TDI has been affected by the Diesel Emissions Settlement, so when I had to figure out what to replace it with I decided to go with the Golf. So then the question became TSI or GTI. Budget wise the incentives VW is offering this year are pretty incredible. With $3.4k plus another $1,000.00 for loyalty, the '17 Golf TSI Wolfsburg Ed. came in at $19.651.00. A very good price for almost any budget. Especially with how much it has to offer. However, the dealer also had a new 2016 GTI Auduban w/ Performance Package for $30.2k, but they eventually dropped down to $28.5k just to get it sold! So here is where you congratulate me on such an awesome deal! But alas, my budget is just a little too tight and I went with the '17 Golf TSI Wolfsburg. Funny thing is, I don't feel like I am missing out on very much. This is no race car by any means, but it has all the snap and pop I need to enjoy a truly quality driving experience. One of the things that attracted me to the Golf was how quiet a ride it is, something I value, and I am not disappointed. The only thing I really wish was better is the stock audio system, since I had the Fender system in my Jetta. But otherwise I will likely add 17" wheels and a catch-can to the engine. I might upgrade the headlights at a later date, but honestly the halogens provide all the light I need. If like me you can't fit the GTI into your budget, I highly recommend you give the Golf TSI a serious consideration.
Sean Ryberg Interesting Reflections! Im coming from a Golf6 GT R-Line myself, it have a quite slight turbo at 160 hp & for a sport car that dosent cut it. The GTI & R uses a completely diffrent engine (EA888). But car is beautiful & iv been so impressed by VW the 5 years i had the pleasure to own it. Now its time for a sportier model here, so this time we ordered a GTI Clubsport. Wish you a wonderful time with your new Wolfsburg Edition! VW make some fantastic cars!
This is indeed a model year 2017 R, as the Pretoria wheels were not available for model year 2016. The refresh that debuted recently will be a model year 2018 here in the US. Small note though - the DCC, along with Nav, is now standard for model year 2017 as the base trim has been removed.
Dude its not - you can tell by the Lights, non digital "speedometer" and the old style 2016 Infotainment System. ;) The wheels are available since launch at least in Germany..
I think the US "2017" is different from the EU 2017 that was just announced a few days ago. US won't get that refresh for a while... Also they didn't even show the refreshed golf r...
Not sure if you realise but this is the 2016 model year Golf R. VW has just updated the Golf range for 2017 - the new models look different to this, inside and outside.
Dude its not - you can tell by the Lights, non digital "speedometer" and the old style 2016 Infotainment System. ;) The wheels are available since launch at least in Germany..
USA doesn't see the "7.5" update until 2018 MY. Pretoria's were an EU only launch wheel. I feel bad for the people that paid $3k+ for wheels ONLY to import them over the past few years. sidenote; it's no wonder so many people believe all the false news stories on social media. You could literally look into if this was an actual 2016 or 2017 model in about 30-60 seconds. The amount of people coming on here and saying "2016 2016!!!" is nuts. At least here we're only discussing a vehicle.
Bill McLaughlin III Dude the Original Golf 2017 or Facelift ist NOT that one in the Video - if its in your country maybe it is until 2018, but NOT the Facelift / new Version. ;) And yes you can tell that in a few seconds by the shape of the front lights they are in an Oo shape in the original Golf 7 and the Facelift hast LL Style Lights. Even the non LED. Just to fit the current VW Line Up. Im from Germany working for a VW reseller.. :) The higher End Models (not sure right now which one it will start at) will have Digital Speedo and full LED Lights - not sure about the Radio. But im pretty sure that the top line model Golf R will have atleast LED + Digital Speedo if not the GTI aswell. No Infos about that right now.. But the Facelift will have around 330PS instead of 300.
I didn't say the car in the video was a 7.5. I said we, here in the USA, don't see the update/refresh until the 2018 model year as the gentleman I was replying to (Matt CB) was stating the car in the video was a 2016. I'm very well aware that the car that *is* in the video is a 2017 MK7.

MilesPerHr. Damn I need to get back home to NJ to see him perform. Is he considering getting back into car stuff??? You guys were FREAKING cool. Sucks that the channel got bought out only to have the plug pulled so quickly. Good to see you back in action. ;)
i'm waiting to see how the VW GTI and R compares to the new Honda Civic Si and R that's coming out early 2017 in the US. will the Hondas have the same fun factor? at least it seems reasonable that they'll have greater reliability.
I feel like I missed the part of the video where you outlined the differences between the 2016 & 2017 models...? I think resale plays into the picture of "is it worth the extra $10K for the R" also, and I would suspect it would hold most of that value against depreciation as well as how fast you could sell it too.
Hi, so I'm buying a new car next year, but I can't decide on which 1 would be best. with your hands on experience which 1 would you say be the best to get out of my picks thanks. 1. choice on my list is Audi TTS 2. is Benz coupe C-300 4. is VW Golf R
The GOLF R is a amazing car but here where I live, Puerto Rico, this car is too expensive. The MSRP here is $57,995 depending on the dealer. This would be paying something like $870 a month from my experience. What do you think about this?
I'll never understand these complaints about dark interior of a car. Simplicity means elegance. I guess Americans love circus and obnoxious over the top Mickey Mouse kitsch in their cars.
RandomTechS@#T I did vote for Trump and you wont find no one who loves VW more then me!! and I think VWs interior is at the Top no ones better at the price that being the GTI or the Golf R!!! shocker right?
I love that you're down by Seal Beach. Know that area well from my childhood summers. I really like this car, but wish it was only 2 doors and only a 6 speed manual. You don't buy this kind of a car to tote people around. You buy this kind of a car to satisfy a basic need for power. However, VW isn't going to get any more of my money with the diesel issue sadly. I'm feeling that they are hedging their bets a little by dragging their feet getting the settlement issues sorted out. I'm now waiting for my 'notification' to get in line to get my money back. I feel that it should have been done while we were waiting for the final approval.
but its a 40k vehicle, i have kids and i love racing, thats why i choosed the 4 door, so when im driving alone , i select race mode and i race it , push it hard etc..... and when im with my family , i select normal mode , any vehicle with more than 3 people will lose part of its performance, it definitelly i will take the 4 doors over the 2 doors, it depends on your needs.
Dude, I have 2 GTI's in my family and a 2017 R I just brought home last week. Both GTI's have been flawless. The 2013 has 72,000 miles, the 2015 has about 28,000 miles and not one single thing has gone wrong with either. The 2013 did get a recall for a water pump which we had replaced because of the recall, but that's it. As for the R...mine only has 500 miles on it, and it's insanely fun to drive. Too soon to tell the reliability, but no reason to think it's going to be any worse than any other car.
James Beeney The Golf has nothing on the A45! Neither Quality nor power wise! It has 100hp more than the VW. A direct rival would be the Seat Cupra or a S3
bend over it's amazing what this Car can do with 290 hps, in fact VW always underrate his turbo engine so this one must be close to 315hp, if that doesnt cut you can always put 600 dlls for a tune and get v8 power and still saving gas!
bend over when it smokes cars with 400+ hp then yes, it's a high performance car. Numbers are only one factor when it comes to performance and how fast a car is.
great review. I'm probably going with the Kia Stinger GT Twin Turbo V6 AWD... Yes, it's maybe not as fast or as good handling, but similar price and the Kia might have better reliability.. Still, the VW a good car but this Dieselgate has turned me off the VW brand forever..
On DCC modes,There is a big difference in Comfort versus sport, Comfort on GTI is horrible, Normal and Sport is the way to go. I have Eibach springs and sways added pro kit, now Sport is unbelievable, normal is GREAT, and Comfort actually is usable, without Eibach, comfort mode was loose and sloppy, very noticeable on highway..i hate mush
Golf 2017 (golf 7 facelift) was presented 2 days ago in Wolfsburg. Only regular, GTI and GTE versions were shown. R-version is going to be revealed in december. Golf 7 facelift features new LED L-shaped front lights, 12.3" virtual cockpit, new 9.2" multimedia system.
Ezra Goodnoe i believe people are getting mixed up with the European models and north American models. vw likes to have the new ones a year or so ahead for us for some reason. congrats on your new car. i wish i had one.
gene978 check them and come back and comment. Unreliability due to electronics with German cars is a bs thing carried on from many many years ago and means squat in today's cars. I've had 6 VW's and Audi's and despite them not being perfect, they were more reliable than any other cards I've owned. Your statement is a modern day myth that's been regurgitated by the ignorant over the years.
Eüro Nasty Obviously you don't know anyone that has bought one recently. I do! I don't need to do research, I know people that own them. otherwise I wouldn't speak you asswipe.
ive owned a mk3, mk4, two mk5s gti and still own a mk6 gti, and now looking to buy a mk7 golf r and Ill be 100% honestly there the most fun and reliable cars me and my wife have owned
80% of people don't buy this car because of no moonroof and arm rest w no storage for US market. The other 20% is the price. They only sold around 650 Golf R's in whole 2016. In no way is any competition better than this. Ford is like a shoebox, WRX is not refined as much compared to R. Lastly, it is made in Germany not in Mexico as all GTI's which are problematic. Quality, luxury, sport.... is Golf R
LifeISMagix Yes!! I wanted an R since its announcement in Europe but the lack of the Roof killed it for me as the perfect daily. Now I'm looking at trading my 16 GTI for a new or used audi S3.
Well the Ford RS is already having problems with cracked engine blocks and the boy racer Civic Type R just looks totally hideous.Looks like the Golf R is the winner.
The look and feel of the interior and the build quality is exceptional. I don't know what this guy is on about here but if he don't like it he's more than welcome to go drive some domestic crap...
The new Golf R goes to 100km/h for 4.2 sec by the way, which is faster even than most Porsches. I agree that the current rival to Golf R is the A45 AMG as most motoring journalists already confirmed that Golf R is better than Audi S3 and RS3, especially in cornering. I see 2-3 A45 AMGs and 5-10 Golf Rs a month. So far, I haven't seen any Focus RS nor Type-R. Who would buy these cars anyway? They are so ugly and bulky...
Like it because its not in your face like a evo GSR or STI very boy racer those cars are looking at a golf r its a regular car the inside of it is way better then sti or evo
VW still doesn't have TFT dash? Really? And no additional power from the last model neither? Is not a very attractive package. It just can't compete in the hot hatch segment at all. The Merc A45, Audi RS3 and the Ford Focus RS are all much better.
First of all, I hate 4 Doors on the Golf R and the DCT. The Automatic adds $$$ and weight over a Manual of your own Stick & Peddles.. I stopped the Video for that reason..
No one cares why you stopped watching especially if it's because it has 4 doors and a DSG. It's more practical, and it's faster even with added weight, which you definitely won't notice because you're human.
mastermin23 So, I don't care how you think. Drivers prefer the stick for control and fun than just sitting there flicking paddles or not. Sitting there with you eyes off the road and attention. Other hand with your phone. No thanks
"high end, high performance car" its not really either of those its a overpriced hot hatch basically just highly desired by mainly young people for some reason as its not top of its class in any area just a well rounded family car with above average failure rate
Donald Trump said yesterday that in the US there are lots of bmw, mercedes etc... and in Europe they drive only european cars and not US Cars... Donald, if you look at the technology and quality etc. it is no wonder!! ;-)
Western Europe is in general much more aware and resentful of buying American than vice versa. I lived in France 3.5 years, (loved it) and know this for sure, and heard concrete examples of this. At the same time, I have a GTI and it is truly brilliant. I love it. I also have Australian built GTO with wonderful American muscle and love that also. Aussies are most like Americans in that respect, love powerful V8s.
If President Trump was simply remarking on attitudes, then he is just making note of that disappointing fact, but if he was remarking on tariffs that exist on one side but not the other, those tariffs should come down for an even playing field.
I had the same mind set but in reality the DSG is the better overall pick. I myself drive a manual but if the DSG is really that much better there seems to be no reason to not spend the extra cash for it. I used to think the Enthusiast option would be the Manual but if you are truly seeking the most out of this vehicle, you find that with the DSG transmission no doubt.
Alejandro hp figures on paper don't mean squat. A have a friend with a stage 2 mk7 GTI and one with a mk7 R and both destroy 2016 mustang gt's from rolls and digs with less hp. Look up youtubes if u don't believe me. Look up this ones dudes video called something like mk7 GTI vs the world. He smokes multiple cars with close to double his hp. Lastly, ford puts the "premium" lane on all their trims because they only wish they had premium quality interiors. They envy German interiors and still can't get it right after all this time.
VW no way, any one who buys a VW/Audi/Skoda after the scandal is a fool. The DSG is rubbish and so unreliable. In UK VW now sells Golf model for price of a Polo. The R looks like a standard Golf. German designers have got to be the least imaginative in the World. The so called real new Golf does not come out until 2019. I bet we could all draw a picture of the 2019 Golf and not be much off.
I would much rather have this look than the hideous and over the top Civic Type-R. It looks like they just couldn't stop adding parts to the outside, it's ugly. And the Ford won't touch the VW as far as interior quality goes.
I like how the interior isn't over the top, just like the exterior. I think a lot of 30+ guys / girls like me want an enthusiast car that isn't all boy racer hey look at me.
yep. Its like an everyday car with a taste of luxurious and sporty feeling without being cocky
same here, im 33, i have kids and a wife, when i drive by myself i select RACE mode ,and push it hard, but when im driving with my family i select NORMAl mode and drive regular.
i would like this interior even if i was 20 :P i dont like flashy interior keep it thight

I do that all the time
Evillincoln i wanna trade in my 2012 Gli for a golf r but im almost done paying it off
Facts! From a GTI owner.
I have a GTO for that. Just bought a GTI and I LOVE it. do not need two super fast cars. that R is awesome though, if it is as nice as this GTI but faster.
I've got a 12' GTI right now and absolutely love it, but found a 17' R for a reasonable price. I'm getting it.
My R has been stage 2+ for 30K miles and has been flawless. The engine and transmission tuning you can do to these cars puts them in near super car territory for quickness. +UnlimitedRange lucky sob
be patient! she will come haha! i have wait 4months that was so hard for me!
Had mine just over a month now. Love it.
I love it.
Hope you got it by now, and enjoying it. I've had mine for a year now, and I absolutely LOVE it.
I bought my wife a 2018 R and she drives it happily to work every day. She runs it in economy mode with stop/start active. When my son and I get hold of it we take it for a blast on some of our favourite twisty roads where it is in no way embarrassed by my BMW 1M, which is the king of twisty roads.

what blows my mind is that you cannot have a moonroof with the Golf R while you can have it on any other Golf ...
As a plus, it keeps weight down.
Who wants bright colors and "bling" inside the cockpit?
That's juvenile.
Not necessarily bling but check out the inside of the Golf GTI Clubsport. There you have simplicity yet luxury
Thank you for your review. I definitely made me consider a Golf instead of the Honda Civic. The Focus RS is not faster then a DSG equipped R.
True!
not only that but a stage 1 tune will destroy the RS. and stage one can be bought for $600?
Multiple outlets have confirmed the Focus RS is faster to 60mph than the DSG-equipped Golf R by 0.2 seconds.

WHOA! It's Miles from FLD! How is Derek D and the rest of the crew doing?? :O
Hey man! Derek is doing well! He just put on a one man comedy show in NJ.
MilesPerHr. Damn I need to get back home to NJ to see him perform. Is he considering getting back into car stuff??? You guys were FREAKING cool. Sucks that the channel got bought out only to have the plug pulled so quickly. Good to see you back in action. ;)

MilesPerHr man bro i pray for him because all im missing is Derek D man. If you ever talk to him let him know his fans are begging for him!
I will!
Fab car and fab reviewer. Great reviews Miles.
You are easy to listen to. Great review!
The understated, clean and classy interior is one of the major draws to a Golf R or GTI over its rivals.
I like the lights that move when you turn the wheel
Very good review! Why manual gear?
The German version has full LED headlights and tail lights with sequential blinkers. Adds an awesome touch.
I like it. Stylish, understated.
Can't tell if this is a sponsored review or a really good car being reviewed.

How's the turning radius?
i own a 2017 golf r... all i can say that its amazingggggg
btw nice video and likable moderator!
Very happy with my Golf R 2017.
I feel like I missed the part of the video where you outlined the differences between the 2016 & 2017 models...?
I think resale plays into the picture of "is it worth the extra $10K for the R" also, and I would suspect it would hold most of that value against depreciation as well as how fast you could sell it too.
Why did they title this video 2017 VW Golf R. We are not in 2017 as of yet. Please explain?
Hi, so I'm buying a new car next year, but I can't decide on which 1 would be best. with your hands on experience which 1 would you say be the best to get out of my picks thanks.
1. choice on my list is
Audi TTS
2. is Benz coupe C-300
4. is VW Golf R
For 2017, the Golf R comes with DCC and Nav standard. Base price is up to 39.xx k.
Dongi The price will drop to $35K...the mid-year redesign will be out next year. That means all current 2017 models will be heavily discounted ;-)
The GOLF R is a amazing car but here where I live, Puerto Rico, this car is too expensive. The MSRP here is $57,995 depending on the dealer. This would be paying something like $870 a month from my experience.
What do you think about this?
half second quicker to 60 mph in automatic or manual?
You look like a giant in that drivers seat. I'm 6'3, I don't think I would be able to fit in this vehicle
What aftermarket things would you guys do to this car to make it more aggressive?
What about the trunk space
amazing review
In Canada, choosing between a fully loaded GTI vs R is more of a no- brainer. 38k for a GTI vs 40.5k for the R.
Is this the 310 bhp one , does it get the 7speed dsg ? Or is it still 6 speed ?
The Golf R tested here has 292 HP and a 6-speed DSG
Why would you get this in auto?
Good review! But the price, I can't find one that starts less the 40k
I'll never understand these complaints about dark interior of a car. Simplicity means elegance. I guess Americans love circus and obnoxious over the top Mickey Mouse kitsch in their cars.
They voted for Bush twice and voted Trump... enough said.
+ Jooo J Not all 318.9 million people in america voted for trump or bush. Please stop being a stereotypical dumbass
RandomTechS@#T
I did vote for Trump and you wont find no one who loves VW more then me!! and I think VWs interior is at the Top no ones better at the price that being the GTI or the Golf R!!! shocker right?
i used to want one of these cars, but have ordered a focus rs
REDEEL16 I own one great car focus rs to over priced for a ford
What kind of gas does this take?...I mean what octane?...premium?
Yes, premium. You should never put regular on a turbo car.
Ines, that is a GREAT reason to buy this car! If you have kids and need that flexibility, this is the perfect choice.
I love that steering wheel .
how much the price ?
Its in the description "The 2017 Volkswagen Golf R has a base price of $35,655."
awesome reviewer!
I like the clean looks of the Golf, but damn there's so many reports of problems with them for me to get one. Even a GTI.
Too soon to tell the reliability, but no reason to think it's going to be any worse than any other car.
i 've been with my golf R for almost two years, apr stage 1 , pushing it hard. cero issues, and very happy.
Who is this guy?
Interesting video!
yeah but the ford feels like like plastic box and the golf is german handcraft . a lot of diffrence.
Mine holds it's gear forever tho!! I actually want it to shift up sometimes 🙈
C&D instrument tested the Golf R's 0-60 at 4.5 sec
with DSG. Like most German auto manufacturers, they low ball their performance marks.
The most direct rival for a Golf R is a Mercedes A45AMG
We don't have that car in the U.S.
James Beeney The Golf has nothing on the A45! Neither Quality nor power wise! It has 100hp more than the VW. A direct rival would be the Seat Cupra or a S3
What r you talking about? Can't be compared. Golf is funny for Mercedes, BMW, Audi models. Direct rival is Ford Focus RS
GILI3GILI3 The Ford has 350hp.. no competition either! The Audi S3 maybe.. and the cupra
Julius Oster Audi S3 has the exact same engine as the R, maybe you mean RS3 ,btw Golf R DSG is faster then the RS
also when its not even 300 horse power you csnt say its high performance
bend over it's amazing what this Car can do with 290 hps, in fact VW always underrate his turbo engine so this one must be close to 315hp, if that doesnt cut you can always put 600 dlls for a tune and get v8 power and still saving gas!
bend over when it smokes cars with 400+ hp then yes, it's a high performance car. Numbers are only one factor when it comes to performance and how fast a car is.
Prefer the manual, who cares the automatic is slightly faster 0-60, in the real world it doesn't make any difference.
This is 2016, not 2017!
nope wrong, 2017s come with the Pretorias...
great review. I'm probably going with the Kia Stinger GT Twin Turbo V6 AWD... Yes, it's maybe not as fast or as good handling, but similar price and the Kia might have better reliability.. Still, the VW a good car but this Dieselgate has turned me off the VW brand forever..
I prefer the looks of the R over the Focus RS. The fords aesthetic seems geared to juveniles obsessed with Fast and Furious movies.
Dislike for misleading title, this is 2016 version.
jesus fucking christ what is with you fucking idiots, this is the 2017 model
Golf 2017 (golf 7 facelift) was presented 2 days ago in Wolfsburg. Only regular, GTI and GTE versions were shown. R-version is going to be revealed in december. Golf 7 facelift features new LED L-shaped front lights, 12.3" virtual cockpit, new 9.2" multimedia system.
realmarat wrong, wrong and wrong. I just bought a 2017 Golf R, it says so right on the fucking window sticker...
Ezra Goodnoe
i believe people are getting mixed up with the European models and north American models. vw likes to have the new ones a year or so ahead for us for some reason. congrats on your new car. i wish i had one.
That makes sense
check the reliability issues with the electronics.
gene978 check them and come back and comment.
I have had many vw's and Audi's, I have never had electronic issues.
The Focus RS has major engine problems.
THis guy is a good show host
2 door sports cars not a reailty? you can buy a c6 corvette for allmost half the price of this car. wich im about to do at age 21
He never mentioned sport.
Great car
Well the Ford RS is already having problems with cracked engine blocks and the boy racer Civic Type R just looks totally hideous.Looks like the Golf R is the winner.
Too many electronics, what ever happened to simple performance cars?
The look and feel of the interior and the build quality is exceptional. I don't know what this guy is on about here but if he don't like it he's more than welcome to go drive some domestic crap...
still no sunroof and detuned from the german version
sad
you showed us nothing, rew engine how R takes the curves and more.
Luckiest guy ever there isn't any red light throughout 8mins of the video :)
36 G... Or a challenger r/t scat pack
Good car
The new Golf R goes to 100km/h for 4.2 sec by the way, which is faster even than most Porsches. I agree that the current rival to Golf R is the A45 AMG as most motoring journalists already confirmed that Golf R is better than Audi S3 and RS3, especially in cornering.
I see 2-3 A45 AMGs and 5-10 Golf Rs a month. So far, I haven't seen any Focus RS nor Type-R. Who would buy these cars anyway? They are so ugly and bulky...
That is Not the 2017 Modell ‼️
Like it because its not in your face like a evo GSR or STI very boy racer those cars are looking at a golf r its a regular car the inside of it is way better then sti or evo
VW still doesn't have TFT dash? Really? And no additional power from the last model neither? Is not a very attractive package. It just can't compete in the hot hatch segment at all. The Merc A45, Audi RS3 and the Ford Focus RS are all much better.
Golf R > Focus RS.
No thanks
"high end, high performance car" its not really either of those its a overpriced hot hatch basically just highly desired by mainly young people for some reason as its not top of its class in any area just a well rounded family car with above average failure rate
looks no different than the regular golf for the exterior
lol at the bg music
$40K for a 4 banger with fwd, what kind of imbecile will buy this when you have Mustangs and Camaros for a lot less ?
awd... hte man even said it in the video..
Dem ears tho
2-liter engine. 4 exhaust pipes. Ridiculous.
People are having problems with their Golf Rs already.
i've been with my golf r for almost two years , pushing it hard and apr tune. no issues at all , and im very happy with it
Focus is garbage and after 20k miles many people have reported the car is down on power.
Next time, drive the manly version of the Golf R.
In other words, the manual!
For $40K, I rather buy the 435 hp Mustang GT premium with premier interior and performance package!!
Alejandro drinks 3x more fuel and taxes 4x more expensive
I doubt a Mustang GT handling will be as good as this..
Nick Wong but its alot faster
ew, get out
SSNW
Miles Branamanmanbranamanamanmanbranbranbrananranaman.
I bet we could all draw a picture of the 2019 Golf and not be much off.
kevnev007 don't buy em and STFU
this 2016 😛
yeah but its a 2017 model year, jackass
I miss 6 zylinder !!!!!
There is a new golf in Europe. Not for americans,
I would much rather have this look than the hideous and over the top Civic Type-R. It looks like they just couldn't stop adding parts to the outside, it's ugly. And the Ford won't touch the VW as far as interior quality goes.
