When talking about Dreaming Girl, Gaon said something along the lines (to paraphrase) of: _I saw my mom in the audience and I thought, “She was once a girl and my grandmother was once a girl and they gave up their dreams to raise their children,” and I started crying on stage._
I don’t know if anyone said this but during money on my mind before Junhans solo Gaon said-I believe he said “ladies and gentlemen the guitarist of xdinary heroes JUNNNHANNNN!”
@@Strokiemane haha yeah😭 it’s all muffled but they actually released a live stage from their concert of the song and i know for a fact Gaon changed it up a bit but you can clearly hear him say “everyone! the sexy gitarrist of xdinary heros, Junhan!” something along those lines haha😭 i actually didn’t notice it was in the studio version at first lol😭
along with p1harmony's Killin' It album, this is my favourite album of 2024 so far. i love that they leaned towards a (pretty much) full rock sound and maintained their name as a rock band instead of a kpop band. far too many people minimized them to a kpop band when their music is mainly within rock sub genres
yes, gunil (again), jungsu and jooyeon wrote until the end of time, i believe that gunil wrote most of the english lines and the other two wrote the melody. jooyeon said he wrote this song when he thought about his parents, like they always said that they would be with us forever but we all know that they can’t, i think this makes the song even sadder.
No matter Junhan saying "don't let me be a good boy" took me TF OUT!! He's my ult bias and I love when he gets lines but ESPECIALLY THAT ONE?? BYE. Also the harmonizing is so gooooood, and the vocal layering on Jungsu and Jooyeon during the chorus. Also GUNIL LINES. Undefined This has been stuck in my head all daaaaay. I knew from No Matter that this was Album of the Year but then Undefined came out and I'm like???? This is illegal??? An attack on me personally?? Also you missed the last one second LOL Paint It This is one I was worried about from the instrumental and it DIDNT DISAPPOINT. Jooyeon's vocals are insane and the rap?? And Gaon's vocals?? Stop. And there's even like the tiniest little breakdown?? WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED IN BREAK THE BRAKE BUT I GOT IT HERE AND IM WEEPING. And Junhan shredding of course. Money On My Mind This is another song I was scared of. And I WAS RIGHT TO BE. JUNHAN SOLOOOOOOO. A PROPER ROCK SOLO (kind of split into two parts). IVE BEEN WAITINGGGGGGG. AND THEN HIM SCREAMING AFTERWARDS (what I mean by that is that the line "i got money on my mind, got money on my mind. Leave the leash and run away" right after his solo was actually Junhan singing!!!) ALSO JOOYEON'S FUCKING VOCALS AND THE SHREDDING AAAAAAAAAAAA. SONG OF THE FUCKING YEAR. ALBUM OF THE FUCKING YEAR. Dreaming Girl Yeah so I cried my first listen cause even though XH are pretty young and aren't super experienced in the world yet, this song feels like they understand the true hardships that people go through to follow their dreams, especially women (even though the song can apply to literally everyone). Like, this song makes me feel like I'm beautiful, even if most other people wouldn't think so because I'm not skinny. It makes me feel like everything I've gone through has been worth it to become who I am today. The amount of passion they sing this song with makes me believe that they truly feel what they're saying. Okay this was part 1 of my scream-fest. Part 2 coming in a few minutes.
Seeing u talk about being “scared” of the songs is so crazy cuz i completely forgot about the teasers and such 😭 I couldn’t imagine hearing some of these instrumentals out of context like that would be suchhh a shock to me lol. Love everything u said but Dreaming Girl really stands out to me, because it genuinely felt so heartfelt and sincere on top of the beautiful music they gave us. Im not one to typically be moved my messages in music (as I mentioned in the video) but Dreaming Girl and Until the end of time seriously did something to me everything felt so real. The passion makes the song, just like you said
@@Strokiemane Hahaha yes! I keep up with all the teasers and stuff. I just can't bring myself to hold out until the album release. And yeah I have NEVER cried from music. It is not something I'm personally moved by. It doesn't feel as impactful to me as an emotional moment during a TV show or movie. But as someone who has struggled a lot and had a lot of shit happen to me, Dreaming Girl spoke directly to me and their vocals are so soulful and powerful. They sing with passion and meaning. I say XH has some of the best vocals in kpop, not just because of their technical skill, but because of their ability to convey so many different emotions and make you really feel what they're saying.
Until the end of time I don't even have much to say except vocals are insane like always. Getting chiiiills. I personally dislike slow songs like this, so if this was a random group or the vocals weren't as good, I wouldn't like it. But I know it's XH and the vocals give me chills so I love it. And the way the vocals get kind of drowned out at the end to let the instrumental come forward is sooooo good. LMAO THE PERSON WHO SAID THEY WERE ANNOYED WITH GOOD ENOUGH BEING SOMEONE'S FAVE SONG FROM A ROCK BAND WAS ME HAHAAHHAAH. Okay, I will never judge people's tastes. I don't care what someone's favorite song is. But as a certified Ballad HaterTM, I'm just a bit salty that Good Enough is often said to be people's favorite. LIKE WHY IS AN ACOUSTIC BALLAD YOUR FAVORITE FROM A ROCK BAND?? Now Dear H., Dreaming Girl, and Until the end of time are MUCH more rock, so I personally enjoy them way more than Good Enough. But please know, I'm never gonna actually make anyone feel weird or bad or judged for liking a style of music I don't like. And actually, Good Enough is one of my FAVORITE songs from them. But it's not my top 1. Does that make sense? 😅 Walking to the Moon I'll say this is probably my least favorite on the album but if it came up in a playlist, I wouldn't skip. This type of song isn't really my style, but the vocals are fantastic like always. It's much more of a chill rock song which is needed in an album like this with so much craziness. I do like the end part where it's like clearly for a crowd to cheer with. That was really cute! Moneyball This one I was MOST worried about in the instrumental. And then when the highlight film sampler came out with the lyrics, I was just a bit disappointed because some of the vocal parts made the song sound softer even though the instrumental was still so hard. Like, Jungsu's parts. I'm not saying they're bad. But because he has a very pop-like voice, very appropriate for an idol in kpop, it doesn't hit as hard with heavy songs like this. I think it'd be really cool to have him train with a rock singer, train his voice to be a little more hard-hitting and punchy. But the chorus is soooooo goooood!!! And the little post-chorus?? The part with "break it down" towards the end is EVERYTHING. That's the absolute best part of the song. Hands down. I wish the whole song was like that LMAO. But either way, song is solid and probably in my top 5 still. Night of Fireworks I'd say this is my other least favorite song but I like it a bit more than Walking to the Moon. I think it's a great way to end the album that was full of insanity. And it'll be a GREAT concert song, like an encore. Gunil's going crazy on the drums. The instrumental just hits so much more than Walking to the Moon for me. Partly because of the drums!!! But it's also much more rock. And the lyrics are very beautiful, very bittersweet. Overall Thoughts This is, without a doubt, their BEST album to date. Another no-skip, but this time with 10 SONGS. I think they're getting so much closer to their own sound. Going back and listening to their previous releases, it's like listening to someone completely different. They've improved an INSANE amount since the beginning, and even in the short time between Livelock and this. Every release becomes my favorite, and that's a GOOD thing. Because it means they're constantly improving. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cry myself to sleep for the next week because of this amazing album.
LMFAO hey don’t worry u could roast my taste sincerely and it would just be funny for me, so there’s no worries on that front. I get what ur saying! I just love music that moves me emotionally, sometimes a song plays and it gives me a queasy butterfly feeling and I simply love it LOL Ur take on the vocals in moneyball is something I’ve thought about a lot tbh. I have loved so much of their music but there is definitely a line they walk with how heavy the instrumentation use against their sweet beautiful vocals, and I think this album was them striking that balance as best as they have by FAR. I fully agree this is their best work to date, and it’s one of the best albums that have come out all year. LOVE IT
@@Strokiemane Yeah this album really shows their maturity. I'm not saying the music is "mature" in an explicit or "adult" way, but this album really reflects how much they've grown and matured as musicians. This album is the most rock, it's the longest, it's so versatile. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with it. There are different things I prefer, but in terms of quality, well...there's a reason XH is my favorite group. Each release gets me more hype for the next one because they've consistently gotten better and better.
Thank you so much for this! I really enjoyed listening to your feedback; watched til the end despite the length of the video because i loved this album a lot too and i was equally impressed by them as much as you were They’ve always been skilled and talented since day 1 but i think this album made their musicianship and artistry even more prominent. Until the end of time is also my favorite track of this album; fun fact: though it can be interpreted romantically as well, when working on this song Jooyeon said he was inspired by how parents always say “I’ll always be beside you” and how children understand the truth and painful reality as they grow up; i find it so profound and deeply touching that it can shed light on the importance of familial bonds and the inevitable impermanence of a loved one’s presence in your life. Another fun fact: until the end of time is written by the same three members who wrote Good Enough; the leader and the two main vocals: Gun-il, Jungsu and Jooyeon (they were in charge of the entire melody and the 2 main vocals also did the vocal directing during the recording of the song for the other members as well) Btw your reaction to until the end of time is GOLD 46:34 the way ur face changed is my whole mood whenever i listen to this song 49:38 “I feel like I just watched La La Land” LMAO but fr tho XH is just so good at immersing their listeners to the emotions of their songs. It’s a tragic and sad song but it’s delivered in such a satisfying manner (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like a lot of slow songs/ballads). XH are always effective in making us FEEL what they want us to feel and imo it’s a sign of good artistry/craftsmanship. 53:10 fully agree; I think that’s what makes them and their discography stand out to me too; as someone who watched their behind the scenes stuff, i think there’s just something so authentic and deeply personal about how they approach singing, song writing and music production. I love that their voices are all in harmony in every song as well; they always sound like they *should* be singing together because the way they sing is in respect and in coherence to the roles and lines of another member. It’s as if all the members are aware of the direction they want to go to with their sound. Like you can tell everyone in the band knows what their song is supposed to sound like in the most polished way akajdkdb It’s also noteworthy that they didn’t sacrifice their album’s thematic cohesiveness to accommodate their musical experimentation; i love that they still got to explore different genres Such a 10/10 album!!! Happy to see you liked it!
Im glad you were able to enjoy despite the video length LOL. I do really love what this album means for them in their evolution, and it’s so awesome seeing you all love it as well! Like you said, they make us *feel* their music and nothing reflects the quality of a song more than that imo

It'd be so much fun if you can check them out in future :))
I actually have heard of them but i never thought about checking them out tbh! That may be cool!
