@@iamgreen2964 Same comment come to me just a moment ago... Also today at morning I got a comment from a Enrique Iglesias channel... He asked me if I'm using gmail id... I report that... Everybody be careful...
Just missing 4 notes on a guitar without fret markers while entering mid song on a stage in front hundreds of people doesn't sound too bad. Specially if it is the second time ever you play in a live audience. Don't be so hard on yourself Steve! You are amazing and a true inspiration to us all aspiring guitarists!
So sorry we couldn't be at this concert. It looks like everyone had a great time. Walk off the earth is such a great band and I am glad they let you do a solo with them. Pretty sure you are the only one who noticed your fail Steve. To us you were awesome as always.
The only thing that would've made that night better is if you and Dad were there. But I plan on doing many more of these!! At least you were there for my first solo with DragonForce!! 😃
He calls out people for doing the same thing though. I agree with your statement. But if you’re going to make 12 minute videos about other guitarists fking up, he better dang we’ll play like he owns the pick of destiny.
@@donthaveaname1086 You are literally saying the same thing as the main comment, but peculiarly emphasizing on how Stevie has called out other people before. Could it be that you are upset because he criticized an idol of yours? 😂
Playing in front people when you live with anxiety is so hard. You did a spectacular progress. It doesn't matter at all. A lot of us probably die without even try it.
I gained so much respect for Stevie when he said hey, I want to, but my anxiety sucks, so I can't. And it's even cooler that he came back later and tried it anyways. Good job!
Happens to me a lot on my Violin too. I think sadly the #1 thing I do after a performance or audition (if it happens, which is likely) is just cringe at my missed notes. I'm so glad to see I'm not alone
The fact you played on an unfamiliar guitar and kept going means to me, you have good showmanship. I bet 99.9% of the people in the crowd didnt even notice. Keep up the good work.
Yes, next time bring your own guitar. It makes a difference, I don’t like playing someone else’s guitar as everyone had their preferred setup and configuration.
Anyone should be able to play on any guitar. Maybe you just need practice playing on foreign guitars. Go to guitar center, Sam ash, etc. and hog the equipment, and if you’re too comfortable: switch soon LOL.
I just saw Megadeth live for the millionth time, and even they're hitting sour notes in their solos. As a fellow guitarist, you did amazing. The thing is you just keep going and don't think about your mistakes.
@@maxalcheev9570 You're right, it's not the same, Megadeth have been playing live for years so they shouldn't make mistakes. Stevie doesn't play live and has anxiety, it's amazing he could even do it at all. Also this reminds me of Dave Mustaine playing a solo with Dream Theater in cemetery gates. Now THAT was a disaster.
That was hardly a "fail" for someone overcoming such an immense obstacle as anxiety!! I have been suffering with anxiety nearly my whole life, and after watching you for quite some time now I can't tell you how happy (and proud) I am that YOU faced something that many people don't honestly know hard and "crippling" it can truly be if you haven't had to experience yourself!! I am truly happy for you Stevie!!!!!
That's a big step in facing your fear Steve! You were nervous and still went through with it which took courage and determination. I'm proud of you, we all are.
This is a perfect example of how people with anxiety overthink everything. Yeah there were a couple slip ups but no one cares and most of those in attendance probably didn't even notice. And ultimately it doesn't matter, anxiety lies to us at every step. Good for you dude for facing it head on!! I hope to make some progress in my own anxiety battle soon
I know this is a joke but the negativity about yourself really hurts to see. You are a fantastic guitarist. You don’t give yourself enough credit. Mistakes happen, human error. Stevie T rules!
Yea, I just can't watch him or anyone else degrade themselves after making an attempt at something the rest of us would never in a million years even consider doing. Its sad he missed out on joining the band. I didn't make it thru the video.
Mad respect to you for being humble enough to keep it real while busting your own balls! And to be honest, I wouldn't be able to even touch your busted solo, so you're still a badass in my eyes bro! STAY METAL🤘💀🤘
All kidding aside, it takes a real person of character to look at them self, critique them self, point out their failures, and be a better person. I applaud you.
In Steve's defense, he wasn't playing one of his own guitars, so it surely wasn't setup to his liking. Strap length, string action, string gauge, etc. could all ad up to contributing to the very minor mishaps of the solo. I'm confident he would have nailed the solo otherwise. Don't beat yourself up over it Steve! I'm proud you went back out on stage; keep it up!🎸🤘
This right here. First time hanging with a friend from school years ago. His friend wanted to hear some guitar jams and handed me his that he more or less had for aesthetic and never played it. So it was already sitting there on the stand with its stock strings for months. It was all wrong.
I love your videos man. And I love how your willing to admit your own faults even though you are a very talented guitarist. I think you were probably just a little anxious or something. All in all, I think your videos are a really good treatment for my depression. Keep up the awesome work man
I think the 2nd mistake (the tapping one) did sound bad, but the rest aren't really that noticeable. And even after doing those mistakes you managed to keep playing and finished the solo, which is a win in my eyes.
Yeah, I'm no guitar player, but I now what sounds sweet, and everything sounded pretty sweet except for that one part where yeah, it was a bit like nails on chalkboard for a second. I wouldn't have imagined that someone as shreddtastic as Stevie would get such high anxiety from performing in public, though.
I was super stoked when I saw you conquered your stage fright!! And I’m not suprised you thought of it as a fail because you’re a perfectionist for sure! It was awesome Stevie and well done for being an inspiration to so many of us who experience the same anxieties, so thank you ☺️🤟🏻🫶🏻🖤 Keep on being your awesome self dude and inspiring us all!
Thanks Cathy!! Honestly, the solo I played with DragonForce went perfectly!! That's why I had so much confidence going into this concert! But I was humbled!! 🤣 Still, and experience I wouldn't trade for anything!
You’re an absolute legend, Stevie! I wouldn’t do a single note drowning there in sweat on the stage. Thank you for being an inspiration for all the introverts out there
You actually come up with technical, great solos, one wouldn't know you have stage fears (like me)and despite the anxiety, unfamiliar guitar, others you still went on with it, inspiring, just continue.. more people need to hear you. Happy seeing you on stage🤝😁
Man, you managed to end the solo in front of such a crowd even though you knew you played some wrong notes (this is amazing itself) and now you let us see this to show that sometimes we can make a mistake and this doesn’t make us worse, it makes us even stronger. Love ur playing Steve, you shredder🤘🎸🔥
As someone who struggle with anxiety myself, I’m SO proud of you!! Don’t worry about your solo, it wasn’t that bad...I’m a perfectionist, so I get it, I know that when stuff like this happen it’s hard to not focus on them for a LOT of time, but don’t be so hard on yourself, just stop thinking about it and muove on! Everybody makes mistakes, laugh about it (as you did!) and keep expanding your comfort zone a little by little! Also I’m so happy you had the chance to play with Dragonforce, remember, everything happen exactly when it needs to happen...keep going Steve! Much love 🤟🏻🖤
Thanks so much Redox!! I'm DEFINITELY a perfectionist!! Haha! Honestly, at first I was bummed out about the solo. Then I realized I could make a video out of it. So I didn't have to think of something else!! 🤣
Hats off to you Stevie for sharing this uncomfortable experience!! A thousand times I've thought if I'm up there, "I'm gonna screw it up!" so really can relate. I'd like to see more original songwriting (perhaps more serious as the skills are there) from you Stevie T! Fan for life!
Dude I wish I'd half the musical ability you do. Your "fail" was still an epic moment. Dude that's why we love you. You still count as a musical demigod. Rock on Stevie T!!!
Ive played so many shows. Ive had my wireless pack fall off, Pedals come unplugged, missed notes and even slipped and fell once. The beauty of shows is that theyre live, chaotic, high energy, and those mistakes are what make them memorable. Maybe not for the reasons we desire, but its something you can grow from. I'm glad youve hopped onstage and i hope this encourages you to keep it up!
The good thing about music fails is that people who aren’t musically inclined don’t typically notice them. Haha 😄 But, fail or no, you still got up there and did it, and that’s definitely NOT a fail. 😉
Thanks Sarah! Yeah, everyone told me the solo was EPIC!! Not many would've noticed the mistakes. But I'm a perfectionist!! I prefer UA-cam vids... I can cut out the bad takes!! 🤣
As a live playing musician, I used to apologize on stage after flubbing a few notes in a solo and literally everyone (even strangers) 100% of the time said they never noticed! Don’t be so hard on yourself as we’re all human and to me, you’re a guitar god. Keep rocking brother 🤘
As Eddie Van Halen's dad said: "Don’t stop and don’t let the audience know you made a mistake. Or, smile and do it twice, then people will think you meant it!"
I don't ever comment, but I am truly touched by your humility and ability to laugh at yourself and share the pain! It's so exciting to go out in front of thousands of people to share your gift, and when it goes wrong, and it often will, how hard it sting to absolutely suck! It happens to the best!! We are only human! God bless you Stevie!! You are a HERO!!!
Mistakes are always bound to happen. No one is perfect! Even if you mess up, you still have to remember that you did well for the most part. It sounded pretty damn awesome. We’re all proud of you Stevie!
I've been subscribed for a long time, and to see you playing in live bands like this really makes me feel proud of you. I feel like a proud dad in a way hahaha. Keep being amazing Steve!
As someone with crippling stage fright and anxiety, you've been a real help in my journey to push past that stuff to maybe one day do what I love. Thanks for all the laughs, Stevie :D
Steve, The fact that you got over your fears and anxiety to play live in front of thousands of people makes this a bigger win than a fail . You are an inspiration to those of us who struggle with fears and anxiety. But you did just fine my friend !
Bro, that minor 7 was actually awesome on the descending scale. I do that a lot to give my solos a mixolydian vibe. You shredded better than I could do!! Keep it up :)
Despite the fact I've been following Steve for years now, I've never played more than 2 minutes of guitar in my life, so take my guitar playing related question with a grain of salt... but wasn't his original solo meant to be quite spicy anyway ? Those fret slip ups definitely make a difference in how it sounds, but to my musician ears, it's just a slightly unusual accidental that gets resolved nicely anyway in the end
Glad to see you are totally overcoming your anxieties. At this stage just keep getting more live time and these small errors don't matter so much. There are numerous factors that can throw one off in a live situation. Totally different dynamic from being a studio musician. Wish you all the best man 🤘🤘
The best advice I ever got for performing; "The average audience member will only catch a mistake if it's obvious or you MAKE it obvious." Rock on Stevie!
If you pay attention to live Yngwie recordings, he makes mistakes all over the place. He nearly never played the ending of one of the "Trilogy" riffs entirely correctly. Instead of ending the scale riff, he just hammers on a few faked notes to make it easier. Nobody notices, because he keeps such a uniform confident sound. You only notice if you think about what he is actually playing on the album. And he mixes his scales so often, you know he's not even paying attention to the chord progression sometimes. Nobody notices unless you actually sit down to analyze it.
Brother you've inspired me so much, it was NOT that bad, I didn't even notice it till you pointed it out, you are a fantastic gutair player, and never quit!
They say that we as artists are the hardest on ourselves. What I mean to say is that you did very well at getting over your anxiety and just doing it, even if you personally felt like you failed.
Aww Stevie, I can absolutely understand being so hard on yourself but I highly doubt a single person in the audience noticed. You're seriously one of the greatest guitar players out there! Love that you're able to laugh at yourself though.
You highly doubt that people who specifically come to listen to how people play music won't notice when a musician makes mistakes? I highly doubt that ;)
Dude man, I've messed up so bad at times. I don't think anyone is perfect when they play live. You have a heart of gold and you are a phenomenal player. Please don't beat yourself up. You have to play live more and always play live with different guitars and let yourself be comfortable with the environment! You got this!
It's okay, Steve. Don't beat yourself up over it! Honestly, I was just happy to see you went on stage with so much freaking confidence!! 🤩💖 I understand your pain though. I'm always overthinking and beating myself up over every little mistake I've made, even things that no one else would really notice. 😅 Listen.. your "failures" help us have someone to relate to, because none of us are perfect. You've helped me a lot since I've discovered you. I used to feel completely alone in having social anxiety, in fact mine was so severe that I was partially mute as a child and in my teens, but now I am able to socialize a lot more and be myself with a bit more confidence, especially after watching your videos and relating to you so much all these years. I can't thank you enough, Steve! I don't know what I would do without you. 🥰❤️
Thanks so much Emily!! It was really nice to see me up there on stage too. A couple years ago, this would NOT have happened! Haha! I can relate EXACTLY to what you're saying. Social anxiety has been a big one for me all my life. Even this past year, I've been making strides!! Meeting all these bands and such. Glad to hear you are also defeating your anxieties!! We're in this together!!! 😃
I love how Stevie is able to have a laugh at his own mistakes like that. Think whatever you want about his sense of humour, but that takes some maturity. I would love to see Stevie play with Polyphia.
As a guitarist who's actually played on stage I can say that wasn't near as bad as some of my mistakes like forgetting to hit the pedal that turned my guitar on hahaha
One time on stage, my part of the beginning of a song was a sweep. The catch is, the rest of the band cut out while I did the sweep. However.. my pedal wasn’t plugged in all the way.. it was a very awkward and long pause in the song.. and I butchered the sweep
I have caused such sonic menace & mayhem on various stages...from school Auditorium "gigs"plugging a single coil Strat copy (thru the bridge pickup - no notch pozish! Didnt really know about them!), a Peavey Bandit solid state practice amp dimed to the nth! Feedback & 60 cycle hum.. literally making audience members plug their ears with their fingers/palms, lol! ... Poorly tuned (as us from the pre-clip on tuner days only know - a time when we had to tune by ear backstage with no amp, or piano for reference notes...all over the noise of whats going on on stage before you... Add to that that we never rehearsed, in fact, it often was on impulse that we would ask to perform, and..we would just "talk through" whatever song we thought of that morning. Like, for example....we did "Pure Massacre" by silverchair (which, were a great little Aussie grunge/hard rock trio of the 90's that found some international success)... Where...I had only just that morning worked out the main riff. (I have since learned that it is in Drop D - which suddenly makes a whole lot of sense. I was playing it wrong in an inferior and awkward way.) And so I showed the bass player...and then with the drummer and singer (who, iyf course, was not a good singer - he was just the kid that would get up and do it!) and we'd just map out the structure of the song. 2x thru intro riff Verse 1 Pre-Chorus Chorus Verse 2 Pre Chorus Chorus mini solo over intro riff Verse 3 Pre Chorus Chorus Solo over intro riff ×4 Bridge Chorus ×2 Key change Chorus ×2 Back key change Chorus ×2 Big finish on D And we'd go on, with no practice, no sound check...no proper tuning to make sure the bass and guitar/s were in tune with each other.. And...we would spend the first awkward minutes on stage plugging in, tuning AGAIN!, this time amped, so that I - along with the whole auditorium - could HEAR it....and wheel the amp to the front.. By the time we were ready...the crowd was usually already murmering amongst themselves, and giggling and I would already be red in the face, knowing I'm making a goose of myself in front of the girl/s that I liked! Aaaah good times! Good times indeed!! 🤣 (that was sarcasm. They really weren't!)
Call it jazz influenced and your good to go, Steve. Dude, you're playing live! Four sour notes live are better than a hundred perfect ones alone. Keep sharing your gift/talent.
Exactly- there are no wrong notes in jazz, just experimentation and improvisation. ...although to be fair I once recorded a guy playing a trombone solo on a jazz album and it took us 10 hours to edit into something that didn't make us all throw up. Not only was it too bad to use "jazz" as an excuse (considering it was actually jazz too), but the guy who booked me as the engineer was the drummer and even he knew it was bad 😂 Stevie did ok by comparison, but a self-mocking video is always funny.
I know just how you feel watching back your performance noticing yourself missing a few notes. Happens to me on my Violin sometimes and I cringe thinking back at my performance at concerts and auditions. Glad to see I'm not alone
I agree with what Mama T said, I would not have noticed anything, unless you pointed it out. I can't stress how proud I am of you! Overcoming your anxieties and performing onstage. You have even helped inspire my son to start pursuing things he's always wanted to do, but because of his anxiety, couldn't. Seeing you start to branch out has given him the courage to do the same. Thank you for being awesome.
Thanks Jackie!! It means so much to hear that! Tell your son how proud I am of him!! He is already defeating his anxieties at a young age!! It has taken me almost 35 years to be comfortable doing certain things. So HUGE congrats to him!! 😃
Non-guitarists wouldn’t have any clue that you messed up and your recovery was so quick it was hard to notice. I thought you did great man. I know how hard it is to play in front of a crowd with anxiety, and you did amazing!
The important thing is that you were on stage in the first place, keep up the positive work Steve. My daughter who struggles with anxiety issues really enjoyed seeing you overcome those same issues and enjoyed your sense of humor about not being perfect.
I'm really proud of you, Steve! We are not meant to live with our anxiety/trauma for life, we are meant to evolve beyond. And you are doing exactly that. This video also proves your emotional intelligence, by accepting and making peace with a small (and irrelevant) mistake on stage. Keep progressing! :D
Stevie. YOU DID GREAT. A fail's only a fail if you can't walk it off. Please don't let this hinder your ability to play live in the future. You're fantastic!
Great performance! Everyone makes mistakes, making them should help you get over the anxiety and fear. Everyone was having fun and couldn't care less IF they even noticed. I hope to see you shred on stage in person someday! Sick shredemption bro. You've officially been shredeemed.
Uh your sugar was low, the wind was blowing too hard, it was too dark in there, the sun was in your eyes, the guitar was possessed by vegans, somebody in the crowd put a curse on you, they were passing around pickle sandwiches in the audience to distract you. It wasn't you you were never there ....DEEP FAKE! DEEP FAKE! 😁 There now everyone will know your didn't fail 👍
Glad to see you putting yourself in these situations and overcoming your anxiety. Make light of your minor mistakes, don’t dwell on them. Get up there and do it again. Good job man.
I always related to you being anxious about playing live and rejecting dragon force offer, But seeing you now go on stage with all your confidence made me soo happy. So many people will just die if they were in your place, And look at you! You naild it
Honestly I think it sounded great, and I am so happy that you are overcoming your fears, you did better than I could ever do, I could never play in front of that many people! The fact that you can make a video about this and laugh at yourself is just admirable! If anything I've gained more respect for you! Great job Steve! 😁
Honestly, I thought the original series of your guitar fails were kind of low hanging fruit at times, but honestly. I think it shows how good of a sport you are to also include yourself in the hot seat. Big props Stevie
Being featured in a band fail compilation has been a source of anxiety for me whenever preparing for a first gig with a new band. So much can go wrong even and when you’re starting out knowing how to recover well isn’t second nature
I really can't hate on your guitar solo because it's not like I can play it better. It's unique and quirky. It took alot of courage to get on stage in the first place. I'm proud of you for overcoming your anxiety. Awesome video as always. Love you so much!
Thanks so much Erica!! I definitely have no regrets!! Even after the fail. Haha! Something like that would've destroyed me before. Now I can actually laugh about it! I guess I have come a long way!! 🤔
I respect you so much for making that video!!! I would have never made a video highlighting my mistakes like that. I would probably just have tried to forget it as best as i could just to realized, that i would haunt me till the end of my days. You have demonstrated great inner strength. Keep up the good Work!
Facts bro doing what you do while dealing with Anxiety ain't no cake walk. The fact you've gotten this far is inspiring. I'd probably have a cool channel like yours and shredding with my fave bands if it wasn't for crippling anxiety and depression.
Stevie.. it has been a journey with you for 11 whole years now. Right from 'how to do a guitar flip' and I dont have words to describe how attached I am with you and your channel. You have the power to make ppl smile and pack them with a surge of positive energy. You have a wonderful family and one day i wish to meet you and mama T and drop in lots of ❤ 💙 💜 for you both!
Best way to beat anxiety, is to not even think about it n just do it - how i beat a lot of my anxiety/depressive moments that try hold me back! Were not robots, we make mistakes, but we carry on going. Thats what makes us human 🤟🏻 Great stuff Stevie!
Honestly this is probably the coolest guitar fail you've ever done, because no one is safe from A. Screwing up on stage, and B. Being roasted for screwing up on stage by Stevie T well done my dude. And I completely feel you on the anxiety. I can do literally nothing competitive because I feel like I'm having a heart attack.
i watched this live. I was so happy to see you on stage with thoose guys i didnt hear any mistakes by you. You are awesome, all your mistakes (at least most of 'em) are in your head
At least you lived to tell the ‘fail’… 😂😂 But hey, Stevie, you got up on stage in front of the biggest crowd you’ve ever played in front of, with an unfamiliar guitar - with no fricking fret markers! - and gave everyone a brilliant surprise and experience by being there and shredding! Plus, you slayed your anxiety demon, and that was worth any wrong note, for sure ☺️❤️
Lived to tell the fail.. WOW I love that!! Haha! Yes, the 'no fret markers' was probably the biggest challenge. Especially on a stage!! I would say, defeating my anxiety demon was worth 4 sour notes!! 😉
Dude, Anxiety is no joke and the fact you were able to overcome it or manage it well enough to perform is far from a fail. I work as a mental health social worker and experience plenty of my own anxiety on a daily NIGHTLY basis. EVERYONE suffers from anxiety, this is how we are able to show up on time to school, work, pay bills, TRY not to break the law.. It's all in how you process your fears, anxiety, trauma ect that allows you to manage in a society that is the cause for g.d triggering events. Good on you kid. I really enjoy your content. Keep it coming.
As a guitar player myself after 20 years and playing with lots of big time bands we all make mistakes but the recovery was flawless🤘🤘 good work buddy!!
Nobody: Stevie T: I DID ALL OF THESE THINGS WRONG! You are the best around! Don't ever underestimate the absolute joy you bring to us all. You can play with the best of them. Love from South Africa💚
My daughter absolutely LOVES your videos. Every 2 minutes she ask , “Mom, I want to watch funny guy on your iPad”. You bring her lots of laughs! Keep up the good work! :)
Stevie you might have hit a few sour notes there, but you being able to breakdown your performance and understand what went wrong, and act on it constructively shows great maturity as a musician! A lot of people I know would just try to brush it under the carpet and never improve from it. Love the content, really really hope you play more live stuff soon! Stevie T world tour!
It's so happy to see that you are able to go on stage, fail and then laugh about it. I remember the Dragonforce period and I love that you went there and did it amazing, went again, not so great, but is doing great. Love you Steve!
I just never play in front of anyone because of anxiety so the fact that you did it anyway is insanely impressive. Also descending diarrhea, tap mishap, ghost scrote note, you're making a guitarist's f-up dictionary. :p
Dude, excellent humility in dissecting your solo this way, and 4/n notes while just dipping in mid-song is a beyond-acceptable casualty level. I played a gig once where I'm pretty sure I made mistakes in every solo I played in the set... and I heard nothing about it so I had to suffer in silence. 😆 You're a class act; never change!
hey man, I think it's amazing that you finally got yourself up on stage! This is how you beat anxiety. Nobody except maybe another guitarist would even notice those errors and also from your perspective, what you were afraid of actually happened and YOU'RE STILL HERE! Also, FWIW, you have excellent stage presence. You belong up there.
Stevie, I always appreciate your videos. I know they are meant for laughs and you always deliver. Your technical skills on guitar have always impressed me. When I was auditioning for my first band, the lead guitar player said he liked the way I played and that he would give me a chance. He mentioned that it was one thing to be able to shred in your bedroom, but another thing completely to be able to be able to pull it off in front of a live audience. I think you are doing your subscribers a service with your humility on this video. The remedy for this is to keep playing live.
No matter what way you look at it Stevie did amazing.. all guitarist have screwed up while playing.. but the fact that he didn't stop out of frustration is amazing.. Stevie quit being so hard on yourself you're amazing
I did notice the “fail”, but it wasn’t that bad. You still did an amazing job! Even the best mess up sometimes, but that is okay no one is perfect. You just have to move on, doesn’t mean you totally failed. It is frustrating yes but not the end of the world! Just keep doing your thing!! 🔥 Plus, it was only your second time performing live on stage. The fact that you decided to perform live again is incredible! Totally wish I was there watching. I would love to see you with Our Last Night that would be a sick collab… but they are not from Canada. Maybe they will go on tour soon, though who knows :) you need to listen to the new covers they did. AMAZING!!! Numb (Linkin Park), A Thousand Miles (Vanessa Carlton), and Livin La Vida Loca (Ricky Martin). Honestly the last one slaps!!!! All of them do. They have some amazing originals as well. Check out the Heat Waves, Beggin’, and abcdefu covers too…soooo good!!!! When you did the “Listening to Spotify top 100 until I get to a rock song” video, after watching that, I discovered 7 of those songs as covers by Our Last Night!!! Funny how that works…. lol. Thought “hey, he could have cheated and listened to these versions” 🤣 Simple Plan is one of my favorite punk bands and they are from Canada!!! That would be amazing to see as well 🤩
Very true Sarah!! Guess I should cut myself some slack because I'm a 'live show' noob!! 😉 OLN is a SICK band!! I'm into a LOT of their covers (and originals). If they ever come around, maybe I'll hit them up!! I was HUGE into Simple Plan back in the day!! PLUS they are Canadian!! I would love to see that happen!! 😃
@@SteveTerreberry glad you like OLN!!! People say they are not metal enough, but hey, that is almost as metal as I will go… haha not super heavy but not soft either kind of in the middle… and with singing and lots of melodies. They are a metal band so that’s all that matters❤️ I would love to go to a concert of theirs if they decide to go on tour in the future. 😄 I do like some heavy stuff, with some singing of course! Can’t just be all screaming
@@SteveTerreberry you've overcome a lot and you've come a very long way..... you've also helped other people overcome their own fears and anxieties And 99% of the time our own mistakes seem 10 times worse to ourselves than they really are to others so keep your chin up💯🤠💯
You did great to get out on stage and bring joy to everyone watching/listening. Most people would not have noticed a few out-of-place notes, or else they would claim you were showing mind-blowing genius-level use of chromatic scale and dissonance, ending on the resolving notes anyway.
Most of your UA-cam career is a demonstration that even guitar gods can make mistakes in their solos, so your failed solo is just a confirmation of it. Anyway, i'm really happy that you managed to beat your anxiety and shred on stage in front of a live audience! Your story is truly inspirational not only for new musicians, but also for all kind of people with anxiety problems! Steve, you're a great musician but most importantly a great man Keep rocking dude 🤘🤘🤘😎
Stevie T, nor you or anyone will ever see this comment but I just wanted to say I've been dealing with crippling anxiety lately. I never had any problems up until a month ago. It's been remarkably devastating to say the least. If this is what you went through or go through currently then I completely understand why you didn't tour with Dragonforce full time. I didn't understand it back then but I do now. I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of your content but I am a musician myself and I have enjoyed some of your videos. Music has really been helping me so I imagine it's beneficial to you as well. Anyway after hearing that part you said at the end about overcoming anxiety together, I got a little teary eyed and hopeful. Thanks for making me feel better.
I have crippling anxiety as well, and I’m a techno Producer and always wanted to DJ, I got an Idea to wear a halloween mask while performing, and it helps with my branding and also with my anxiety, I’ll have my first Headliner show next friday, and I’ll open for a group of touring DJ’s in a few months, everyone with anxiety has to find that one thing to bring comfort in the crowds and for me it’s my mask and I’m in love with it.🎉 You’ll find yours, friend! Keep dreaming big and working your ass off, and you can do anything😊
Stevie you sounded fine, and played with confidence, even through what you consider a mistake. Remember what Adam neely says, there are no wrong notes only spicy wrong notes. Also remember that your idea of perfection and what the fans perceive as awesome will always be different. Epic shred brother. Great cameo, and I love seeing you come out and play live 🤘
Bro, i had my confidence stolen from me by a evil vial person when i was just a child and went through most if my life crippled by anxiety and fear but i eventually got so sick of living that life I started to fight against it and dug deep and exposed the demons that kept me sick. Today i can actually breathe and be comfortable in my own skin, i can actually walk into a store and not feel the weight of everyones eyes on me. I hope you can heal brother because you are flipping awesome and deserve to walk around like you have a giant set of balls that could part the Red Sea. Much love ❤️
Hi Steve. I'm proud of you for playing live with Dragonforce and Walk off the Earth. And I like the fact you can make a video of your "failing" and laugh at yourself. I think it wasn't easy. I'd like to see lots of live performances from you. We love you. 🤩😊
Thanks Gabriella!! I appreciate all the encouragement!! I'll hopefully be doing MANY more of these. Hopefully the next one will be with less sour notes!! 🤣
Know what Steve, it's all good because you had the confidence to just get right on up there & play. I would love to sing, but there's no way I'd ever get up in front of thousands of people to do it lol You were extremely brave so don't let this minor mess up dictate what you do in the future! I'd love to see you show up on stage in future live performances😊
For some reason, I had no problem getting up in front of thousands of people. NO idea why. A couple years ago, I would've caved under the pressure. I guess sometimes it's hard to realize how far you've come. I'd love to see you sing live Ness!! 😃
@@SteveTerreberry Guess the way you fight it is by just evading the pressure and anxiety. What I learned for myself, is that you don't oppose anxiety with confidence, you just don't think about anxiety. Sounds easy, but it can only come naturally, in my experience.

And it still sounded really really good though.
That's a big step in facing your fear Steve! You were nervous and still went through with it which took courage and determination. I'm proud of you, we all are.

You encourage and inspire me and so many others! Thank you!
Glad to see you are totally overcoming your anxieties. At this stage just keep getting more live time and these small errors don't matter so much. There are numerous factors that can throw one off in a live situation. Totally different dynamic from being a studio musician. Wish you all the best man 🤘🤘
Yes exactly. Its folks like you that help keep music live and fun because of your attitude. More power to you.
The best advice I ever got for performing; "The average audience member will only catch a mistake if it's obvious or you MAKE it obvious."
Rock on Stevie!

Yeah, I’ve literally frozen up and stopped playing entirely before. A live stage will do things to you! This wasn’t nearly as bad 😅
One time on stage, my part of the beginning of a song was a sweep. The catch is, the rest of the band cut out while I did the sweep. However.. my pedal wasn’t plugged in all the way.. it was a very awkward and long pause in the song.. and I butchered the sweep
I have a guitar(my favorite) that the input jack always loosens up, it was loose the sound sound kept cutting in and out
I have caused such sonic menace & mayhem on various stages...from school Auditorium "gigs"plugging a single coil Strat copy (thru the bridge pickup - no notch pozish!
I was playing it wrong in an inferior and awkward way.)
And so I showed the bass player...and then with the drummer and singer (who, iyf course, was not a good singer - he was just the kid that would get up and do it!) and we'd just map out the structure of the song.
2x thru intro riff
Verse 1
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Verse 2
Pre Chorus
Chorus
mini solo over intro riff
Verse 3
Pre Chorus
Chorus
Solo over intro riff ×4
Bridge
Chorus ×2
Key change Chorus ×2
Back key change Chorus ×2
Big finish on D
And we'd go on, with no practice, no sound check...no proper tuning to make sure the bass and guitar/s were in tune with each other..

Best way to beat anxiety, is to not even think about it n just do it - how i beat a lot of my anxiety/depressive moments that try hold me back!
Were not robots, we make mistakes, but we carry on going. Thats what makes us human 🤟🏻
Great stuff Stevie!
Honestly this is probably the coolest guitar fail you've ever done, because no one is safe from A. Screwing up on stage, and B. Being roasted for screwing up on stage by Stevie T
well done my dude.
@@SteveTerreberry I’m excited for the content new and improved Steve will put out :D
Nobody:
Stevie T: I DID ALL OF THESE THINGS WRONG!
You are the best around! Don't ever underestimate the absolute joy you bring to us all.
You can play with the best of them.
Love from South Africa💚
Hahaha! Thanks Christine! I wanted to show that NO ONE is exempt from my 'fail' videos... Not even myself!! 🤣
My daughter absolutely LOVES your videos. Every 2 minutes she ask , “Mom, I want to watch funny guy on your iPad”. You bring her lots of laughs! Keep up the good work! :)
Guy is a scam below btw
@@iamurmom929 let's report them
@@Yes_this_is_my_cat poggers he's gone
Dude now this is funny!
I love the humility to u have for yourself. You're that man Steve
There is no perfect performance to every humble artist. Love this.
You're a class act; never change!
hey man, I think it's amazing that you finally got yourself up on stage!
Sometimes there can be chaos on stage, whether it's nervous or exciting. But you are still amazing
OLN is a SICK band!!
I do like some heavy stuff, with some singing of course! Can’t just be all screaming
Someone was in coke when they write a UA-cam comment. Endless rambling
@@SteveTerreberry you've overcome a lot and you've come a very long way..... you've also helped other people overcome their own fears and anxieties
And 99% of the time our own mistakes seem 10 times worse to ourselves than they really are to others so keep your chin up💯🤠💯
@@counterpunchboxing9322 yes 100% agree!!!
Steve, you're a great musician but most importantly a great man
Keep rocking dude
🤘🤘🤘😎
A lot of us saw this✌️
i see it
I have crippling anxiety as well, and I’m a techno Producer and always wanted to DJ, I got an Idea to wear a halloween mask while performing, and it helps with my branding and also with my anxiety, I’ll have my first Headliner show next friday, and I’ll open for a group of touring DJ’s in a few months, everyone with anxiety has to find that one thing to bring comfort in the crowds and for me it’s my mask and I’m in love with it.🎉 You’ll find yours, friend! Keep dreaming big and working your ass off, and you can do anything😊
Even when Stevie T "fails" he still sounds and plays amazing
it fills my heart with joy seeing stevie overcoming his anxiety. i'm being pretty optimistic here but we may even see his live band very soon
@@SteveTerreberry thank you, maybe one day😊
@@SteveTerreberry Guess the way you fight it is by just evading the pressure and anxiety. What I learned for myself, is that you don't oppose anxiety with confidence, you just don't think about anxiety. Sounds easy, but it can only come naturally, in my experience.
Hahahaha lovely man, you manned up ❤️🤘
Can't wait to see you join someone on stage again and do it right!
Do Mastodon!
