      WANTED TO REPOST SO YOU SAW THIS COMMENT. Joining all 3 pipes at the end may cause you issues, I currently own an xlt tripple with pipes and all the pipes have there own silencers, (mufflers). You may loose power and or have to make changes to jetting. Joining the pipes at the end may cause to much back pressure which could change the power, rpm range and how the engine runs as a whole! good luck project is looking great!!!

      Definitely, take your time to get the builds to your satisfaction. You aren’t disappointing anyone. The quality of your builds are great. Don’t sacrifice your vision for views. It’s going to be the baddest mower on the planet. Every episode I get more interested. You just keep doing you. It’s how you got where you are. Of course we all want to see it done and what your brain is going to give us next.

But this is shapping up to be, in my opinion, one of the best mower engine swaps on youtube lately. If somehow, he can actually make this thing mow grass, Id put it in a solid second place behind Mezzmo Engineering's Mowzuki. and even without moing functionality, I think Id place it above grind hard's 2J mower project, Because as cool as that is, It kinda looks more like a tractor at this point than a mower.

    Having a collector might give this thing a stronger top end. Good idea. When one fires it leaves vacuum behind the fire and can suck the pressure out from the other one. if timed right can bring more top end.

  • @PowerToolism
    @PowerToolism 3 роки тому

    Finally someone who has an understanding for how important the exhaust is for a two stroke engine! I was almost half expecting this to be one of those "Yeah I found this old dirtbike exhaust that basically fits so im just gonna use that" videos. Just fwy the stingers do affect performance, but they can also be made internal if I remember correctly, as long as they are the same length. I havent made my own two stroke pipe in 15 years though so the exact science could be fleeing my mind at this point

    I personally like the way that the pipes ended up! With how the 2nd and 3 pipe are stacked next to each other, it gives the visual feel of a mower-deck, so very in theme with the build in my opinion! My only concern is ground clearance and debris/rock-strikes, you may want to put a some sort of skid plate to protect the baffles.

    Nice job on the pipes. I built expansion chambers acouple decades ago and it aggravates to no end when people do these builds with a tripple 2 stroke and put a single pipe on them. Two strokes power is in the pipes, and you did it right!

  • @harryrenner4016

    I remember many year's ago, because a person couldn't buy expansion chambers. guy's would build them for their dirt bikes. and they would have to build from scratch. they would have cut out the metal in such a way that they would have the cone/tapered shapes. and do tons of pie cuts it would actually take some math for all the sections fit together right. and there wasn't any any tig welders there were barely mig welders around. they would Have weld them with oxy acetylene torches. it would take quite a while to build an expansion chamber. but boy they sure sounded good especially on the big bore bikes. yeah I remember that and the smell of Bell Rey two stroke racing oil it was AWESOME!!! you were lucky that a viewer sent you all those pipes to work with no doubt.

  • @Hollaendaren

    Hate to say this but the engine probably won't run right with these pipes. The front cylinder will most likely run hot and after a bit of running detonate because of too high pipe pressure, and the other 2 will probably run cold and down on power because of too low pressure.
    By cutting or lengthening the stingers you're changing a very important tuning factor, the pipe pressure. Try to put the original stingers back on the pipes, and lengthen the front pipes stinger with a piece of pipe that's a bit larger in diameter so that it doesn't add more resistance. To save space on the rear pipes you can shove the stingers inside the end cones.

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  3 роки тому +1

      Interesting. I read stinger diameter is way more important than stinger length. I can change stinger diameter after 6 inches to bigger ID

    • @Hollaendaren
      @Hollaendaren 3 роки тому

      It's a combination of length and diameter, it's all about the pressure the 2 together cause :) back in the old days people were tuning the length of the stinger, they still wanted a certain back pressure but also a certain length. But I think nowadays almost nobody bothers with the length any more because it makes almost no difference, and just focus on pressure.
      Maybe it's not really a problem at all for you, I mean power wise you'll still have all the HP you need in a lawnmower ;) But I'd definitely do something about the front cylinder. If you're planning on doing longer trips with it, overheating and detonation is definitely going to become a problem at some point with this long of a stinger, on shorter runs eg a drag race it may be fine.
      Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing it run! :)

    Hey brother you should look into Hydro forming your own pipes you can design the perfect shape and it’s actually pretty easy to do with a pressure washer and a little practice
