The Duke of Portland Boathouse Ullswater (just because she wanted to)

We stayed at the beautiful and exclusive Duke of Portland Boathouse at Ullswater, Cumbria and had a wonderful time, cocooned in pure luxury. If you get the chance, do it!

Hi Alan, Im not sure you will ever read this but I went to a school on Ullswater called Beauthorn, it must have been about 1961/62 when Ullswater froze and we built igloos on the ice after it had refroze, a puple there was called Starkie and as far as my memory can recall he was from Keswick and his dad was a dentist, he also played the violin. Not sure all this correct but its nice to share memories as we get older. Be nice to know. Thanks..David Grimshaw.

This was a serious luxury everybody, complete with a teak bath, built by a shipbuilder. No longer there I believe.
